J.J. McCarthy just told

@RichEisenShow
that he's spent his most time in the pre-Draft process with the Giants. Two meetings.
wild times

for the first time in a long time I have no idea what the Giants are going to do.

Agreed.
At this point
Rjanyg : 4/24/2024 1:57 pm : link
I think the odds we select a QB are way higher than a WR.

Which one and at what pick is another question.
I've never been this confused

About a draft. Ever

Sure we do, all of yesterday, and most of this morning, the consensus on BBI seemed to be they were trading up for Drake Maye. Seems like most want it to be official.
If we do not walk away with a QB Thursday night

I would be shocked

+1
I’m good with a QB
Svengali : 4/24/2024 2:28 pm : link
As long as they love him. I just don’t want a QB because we need one. If the experts on the Giants have to have someone I’ll live with the outcome. I just don’t know how you guess at this point. Maybe we should still Andy Reid’s draft board for QBs.
2 Meetings is a lot?
MojoEd : 4/24/2024 2:31 pm : link
That is highly suspect. Either JMM is not all that, or some teams are trying to hide their enthusiasms. I bet it’s the latter.
Tell my why it’s insignificant
Chris684 : 4/24/2024 2:40 pm : link
That McCarthy has spent more time with NYG than any other team, becasue I doubt it is.
I want Maye with JJM as the back up plan
Rjanyg : 4/24/2024 2:42 pm : link
And here is what I keep on thinking in regards to McCarthy.

1. Sy likes him and I appreciate what Sy sees and loved his video he did comparing Maye to McCarthy

2. If McCarthy stayed in school there is a good chance he would be QB1 in next years draft. Punting on QB this year for next years group and not knowing if you will be able to get the best QB, plus having him a year early and even having it be a red shirt season is a way better scenario IMO.
My question is the following:
Nomad Crow on the Madison : 4/24/2024 2:50 pm : link
is it better to draft a pretty good QB in the first round or an excellent WR? I am still of the mind that you need to build the OL first, then pick your QB. We have not done that. I worry that Runyan and Eleumenor are just this year's Glowinski and Tyre Phillips. As a result, if we do pick a QB, he better not start this year. Let Lock and/or Jones take the beating. Build the OL before playing the QB.

That might be what the Giants want...but the latest rumors have the Pats staying at #3 and picking Maye...at that point I have no idea what the Giants will do.
one thing is clear
djm : 4/24/2024 2:58 pm : link
the Giants want to draft a QB and they want to draft one early on in the draft.

That's all we know for sure.
Due diligence
gersh : 4/24/2024 3:03 pm : link
On the QB they knew the least about and will most likely have the opportunity to draft at 4, 5 or 6
It’s a crucial decision
More information is better
This to me
Breeze_94 : 4/24/2024 3:43 pm : link
Means more than the reporters saying they’ve heard the Giants won’t draft McCarthy.

Yep I agree. I would not be disappointed at all.
Here's the clip

McCarthy on Eisen - ( New Window )
Whenever I see clips of him I am struck
gersh : 4/25/2024 3:49 pm : link
At how young he looks.
He certainly has a lot of room to mature physically.
I have talked myself into being good with him - but really do not want to give up next years #1.
I will trust Schoen and Daboll to pick the right QB.
I’m hoping they can get their guy without giving up so much
I can’t recall a player ever giving that type answer
MojoEd : 4/25/2024 3:52 pm : link
Odd. I have never heard another player giving a clear response to that standard question before.
