Has your Giants draft board evolved (or still evolving) ?
Mine has basically stayed the same (but with a Round One trade)
Round One (6th overall) - Trade down, no lower that #10 overall) to pick Brock Bowers, tight end, Georgia
Round Two (47th overall) - Use that #10 (and the proceeds of the trade-down to secure Bo Nix, quarterback, Oregon)
Round Three (70th overall) - Tykee Smith, Safety, Georgia
Round Four (107th overall) - Braelon Allen, Running back, Wisconsin
Round Five - (166th overall) - Curtis Jacobs, Penn State
Round Six - (183rd overall) - Jaxon Janke, receiver, South Dakota State
I'm open to all possibilities and combinations of QB/WR and RB in the first 3 rounds but my preference would be something like
Maye/Benson/Pearsall or McCarthy/Leggette/Corum
I would then shift my focus to defense on day 3 where I'd be looking at Safety, CB and Interior DL.
If they like JJM and Maye, they will take one or the other because one of them will be available either by trade up or standing pat. Comes down to JJM/Maye and how the Giants view each.
I used to think they would take skill player at 6 then trade back up into the first for the QB, but now don't see it. If they want the QB they probably just take him at 6 and if they gamble that QB (penix or Nix) won't make it to the early 20s.
2)Stay put and take JJM in 1st, Ricky Pearsall in round 2, and Maason Smith in round 3.
3)Stay put and take Nabers in 1st, Orhorhoro in 2nd, and DTD in the 3rd... they grab a Milton or Pratt in the 4th
4)Trade down and then all bets are off. Get me a QB, DL, WR, RB, and Safety... oh and CB.
Bowers is the best player in the draft, so I'm hoping he'll fall to #10 because he's not a QB (and we need one of those).
So .. that why I want Nix - he's gonna go super-high because he's not the athlete that the top three or four are, BUT he's smarter than they are (which is HUGE on the pros). And that 45 TDS to 3 INTs stat in 2023 is amazing. (Nix will not be around at #47, so we need more draft capital to snatch him up).
Losing Saquon & McKinney (two core players)is gonna HURT big-time, seems like very few, around here appreciate that. (That's why I'm going for the big RB plow-horse from Wisconsin and the outstanding safety from Georgia)

Hoping for Maye but if we come away empty I d love to dangle Nix.

1) the draft is a crapshoot;
2) it is wildly unpredictable;
3) there is now way to plan a draft this precisely; and
4) even if such planning were possible, we fans lack the information required to do it.
But there is something I feel strongly about every time the Giants pick early: I want greatness. Every year about five guys go into the Hall of Fame. So on average, each draft has about five future Hall of Famers. Get one of those guys. Don’t pass on a HoF talent because you need another position. Needs can be filled lots of ways. Get greatness when and where you can.
Easier said than done.
Reminds me of the famous Mike Tyson quote - “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.”
We need that one guy that scares the crap out of the defense. Seems like yesterday we had two - OBJ & Saquon, but shaky QB performance and a lousy couch.
This year, I see our receivers have talent that will get nothing but better. Our running game it's C+, at best (I don't see any game breaking RBs in this draft, I wish there were).

there's only 1 TE in the NFL that actually scares anyone and the last 10 that went in the first round ended up not doing that.
im not entrenched on anything except no TE lol. id trade back or take the best OL, CB, WR, literally almost anything over TE.
And then trade up into round one and draft Nix at 15.
And then trade up into round one and draft Nix at 15.
that may be a triple barf.

Interesting. Nix and either Bowers or Thomas would be a good haul.
Four starters, this year I'd be happy with two top tier starters and the rest - quality help. I'd give us an "A" for that.
