He would be a pretty big reach at #5 by most scouting reports. They could easily get him lower. If he really is their target then I would think Vikings or Broncos would surely jump the Giants if a QB they like is there, so it would pretty much guarantee the Giants need to move up to at least #4.

This is such a great point. This media driven “overdrafted,” “reached,” “overpaid,” stuff seems to have too much influence over public opinion, and some cases, GMs.
Don’t get cute, don’t get greedy, if you spent time with the kid and he fits the mold of what you want to do, no one’s gonna care if he was drafted at 5, 10, or 15 if he’s a beast, and no one’s gonna care about what role player you added in the 4th round if he’s a beast on another team.
