I honestly don't feel that there will be any trades that affect the top 6.
1. Chicago- Caleb Williams
2. Washington- Jayden Daniels
3. New England- Drake Maye
4. Arizona- Marv Harrison Jr.
5. LAC- Joe Alt or Malik Nabers
6. NYG- JJ McCarthy
think you nailed it. No trades. We take JJM at #6. Small chance of a trade down, but it would take real balls for Schoen to trade down if JJM is still on the board.
HEAR HEAR....so tired of this shit...feels like this year its been overdone more than ever. I'll be watching the Knicks game tonight and figuring out the draft through twitter on my phone at the same time
So many variables-our draft begins the minute the Pats are on the clock at 3....and we may wind up trading back and not picking until mid or even late 1st round....
All over the map

happen. But if NE will only accept the moon, then Joe isn't going make a deal that sacrifices everything for one player. If we can't get Maye, there is a plan, just not certaian what it is. JJM or Nabers, but would they trade with Az for JJ. I don't know.
True.
But I also think he might be agonising over the cost of moving up to get Maye. He said very early in his tenure something about not acting out of desperation, and his belief is that you have to be willing to walk away from the table if the price is too high.
Draft Day has not been very good to us for a while and if we draft Maye I think it will continue. My hope is JS has been blowing smoke and has another plan. If we take Nabers pretty sure he may demand a trade on the podium....lol
Giants trade one spot with the Chargers to draft Maye.
Chargers don’t want to trade out of the top 10; they want Alt so they trade with the Giants.
Why trade up one spot? Just like last year, Schoen wants to make sure he gets his man, and prevents the Chargers from being tempted by a sweetheart deal.
I think the weird vibes coming out of NE have to do with ownership wanting (forcing) the QB while the Wolff would prefer a trade down to kickstart a rebuild. I also get the sense they their personnel people don't like Maye and prefer JJM and the recent Maye smoke has to do with NE trying to get the Giants or maybe Vikings to jump. Wolff is trying to have his cake and eat it too by giving ownership what they want while also accumulating assets which is his preference.
So basically, I think a deal gets done with Giants and at only a slight premium on conventional trade charts, not the king's ransom scenarios we've seen speculated. If they whiff on Maye, I think it's stick and pick Nabers. I don't think the Giants are interested in Odunze despite recent mocks having him land there. A lot of that is speculation based on older Giants regimes in terms of attitude/character stuff and him being more of a conventional X. This FO/coaching staff emphasizes separation and that's Nabers.
1. CHI CW
2. DC JD
3. NE JJM
4. NYG MAYE (could flip NE and NYG if NE takes reasonable package and ensures AZ they aren't going WR)
5. LAC MHJ
6. AZ NABERS
in many ways its the most hilarious outcome though it does seem like most of the board has come around on him.
only real wild card is harbaugh and if he wants to accumulate a ton of picks bc i dont think ARI wants to down far and they already have a lot of picks. but i think LAC may be able to do that by trading with nyg and then again w/ someone else if nec.
You're paying a QB in guaranteed money - $36MM this year and his cap number and dead money are higher than that.
If you trade up for a QB and he bombs, you are screwed.
If you stay at 6 and take a QB and he bombs, you are screwed.
If you stay at 6 and take a WR and Jones sucks again or gets injured again, you are screwed.
Only safe path is to trade down with someone willing to give up a 1st round pick next year for ammo to trade up for a QB.
With three QBs gone before #6 and two receivers gone before #6
And there are 3 or 4 generational WRs and Alt. It would be a hoot if Wash or NE took Harrison Jr, or traded out for a team that comes up and nabs him. It almost never goes as planned....why would tonight be any different.
It's likely that 4 of the first six QBs are going to be afterthoughts in 3 years. To me....Maye is DJ, Daniels is RGIII. I like JJM because he is a winner and has NFL like coaching at UM. Needs to be in the right system.
and move up from 47 in the second round if one of the top 6 drops or one of the second tier guys with a "we tried really hard but the price was too steep" to move up from #6.
RE: With three QBs gone before #6 and two receivers gone before #6
First 3 picks go Williams, Daniels, JJM. Arizona has MHJ and Nabers rated extremely close together which opens the door for the Giants to trade up with them and take Maye at 4. The Chargers take MHJ and the Cards take Nabers.
15% Odunze
5% Maye
I think we are pretty happy with a consolation prize of one of the receivers, or even a trade down if someone makes a big offer.

You're the smart one.
Hopefully the hamster has been training this off season.
True.

6. AZ NABERS
Daniels
Maye
MHJ
Latham
And then we decide between McCarthy and Nabers...and IDK what we do
NE takes Maye
Zona takes Harrison
SD takes Nabers (things get dicey here maybe they trade down)
NYG take JJM

When the dust clears, I think we'll have Odunze.
Schoen and the NY Giants FO does a much better job of keeping their cards close to vest then ever before.
I don't often commend them for things - for this I will.
Or
It could be the lead in to the most bleak, depressing, and lifeless seasons in a long string of boring, hopeless seasons. So a lot rides on this.

A good OL makes up for a lot of deficiencies at the QB spot. I would not hate this move.
At 23 the Giants role the dice on Penix. I think Penix is the best QB in the draft, but I wouldn’t take him because of injuries
Patriots trade May to Giants for JJ, 2024 3rd, 2025 1st and 5th.
Would like Maye just so we can move on from DJ. I'm a DJ supporter but I think that would be best.
