NFT: KNICKS V SIXERS GAME 3

SicilianGMEN : 4/25/2024 10:11 am
LETS GET IT! 7:30 Tip Time.....Knicks game on the big 85" tv in my theatre room and Draft on the 50" tv in the bar area....Lets go!

Rumor has it Mitch may miss the game tonight (He's listed as Q with Ankle load management)

Sixers are 5.5 point favorites, refs aren't gonna do us no favors....

Put the Sixers in the trunk and go up 3-0!

Their perimeter defense wasn't good and it was raining threes. Sure the officiating was bad and Embiid shoulda been tossed, but the Knicks only played 36 minutes.

That said, this series was never going to be a sweep. Need to take one in Philly. Stand by Knicks in 6.

Finally.... Embiid is 285 pounds of 💩💩💩
Agreed.

Expected the loss and the free throw disparity, but Embiid was out of control, the flagrant on Mitch, kicking iHart in the balls, hip checking OG on a moving screen. A one-game suspension is warranted if the refs aren’t gonna protect the players.

I don’t. He made a couple of vague comments that the refs won’t even see/hear. A lot of the playoffs is played in the media and the sixers went all out after game two. And it worked for them. Thibs limped out of that post game presser.

I don’t love it. And I wish the coach/players would just STFU. But many people are small, weak minded individuals looking to place blame. And that’s Philly. This is no time to take the high road. Throw it in the refs faces. Publicly. And blatantly. Even the game.
Woj tweeted on Embiid
kelsto811 : 4/25/2024 11:10 pm : link
"ESPN Sources: Sixers star Joel Embiid has been treated for a mild case of Bell’s Palsey for the past week. The condition began during the play-in victory over Miami but he has wanted to keep it private to avoid distractions for his team"

One side effect must be randomly falling over. Much more relentless flopping than usual. Expect it again next game.

Mitchell Robinson left the arena tonight in a walking boot, per SNY’s @amirnorman. Robinson missed the second half of NYK’s Game 3 loss to PHI due to a left ankle sprain.
I will say this…while the Knicks get ZERO respect around the league
CooperDash : 4/25/2024 11:21 pm : link
and media - they are the most professional bunch of players out there. No complaining. No blaming. No pissing and moaning. Which is respectful.

They always say “the squeaky wheel gets the grease” and there are no truer words. And this game proved it. But the Knicks are the utmost professionals. I really hope it’s rewarded. They deserve it. And Philly are a bunch of skanks.

Larry in Pencilvania : 4/25/2024 11:21 pm : link
Donte DiVincenzo called Joel Embiid’s Flagrant 1 on Mitchell Robinson a ‘dirty’ play. Isaiah Hartenstein said it ‘wasn’t a basketball play.’ Josh Hart said it was a reckless play and Knicks were fortunate that Robinson avoided a severe ankle injury.

Sounds to me the Knicks are pissed

and they know Embiid injured Mitch, the fact the league will do absolutely nothing is ridiculous, the amount of dirty plays he had had tonight would of gotten Draymond suspended for the year..

He kicked Hartenstein and Mitch in the nuts, injured Mitches ankle, hip checked OG, smacked Hartenstein in the face..

I mean its ridiculous, protect your players NBA
That was one of the dirtiest plays I've ever seen in the playoffs.
Mike from SI : 4/25/2024 11:28 pm : link
I know this is not hockey but if there's a situation towards the end of a quarter when we're not in the penalty, I wouldn't mind putting in Simms and telling him to be very rough (but not dirty) with Embiid. Go super hard boxing out and all that. If he gets fouls for overdoing it, so be it.
If the league had any balls Embiid would sit a game
Stu11 : 4/25/2024 11:29 pm : link
For that Mitch play. That was as clear of a flagrant 2 as you could get. No play on the ball whatsoever. A clear intent to injure and he was successful. Wouldn't be surprised if Mitch misses the rest of the series. But then again he didn't do something ultra dangerous like wander 5 feet from the bench area during an altercation...

Reading a lot of comments in the postgame all Philly did with their antics wa fire up this Knicks team even more, i know its the playoffs and you shouldnt need extra motivation..

But Philly is not going to shoot like they did again and now they got a pissed off Knicks team

And may he rest in peace Anthony Mason to toss that flopping bitch around. They'd show him what a real foul is.
Can’t win a playoff game with that atrocious an effort defensively.
shockeyisthebest8056 : 4/26/2024 12:16 am : link
The third quarter defense was embarrassing. OG is on the floor complaining about a foul call instead of getting back on defense. Guys are helping off of people who just made a couple of shots in a row. Just dumb shit.

Embiid scored a thousand points, but they lost the game because of scrubs like Cam Payne, Oubre, and Lowry.

Wasted a good game by Brunson with pathetic defense.

Fuck Embiid and Lowry. Their bullshit at the beginning of the game was ridiculous.

Sign Anthony Bonner to a ten day contract and have him punch Embiid in the throat. Problem solved. Sure, he’s like 60 years old, but I guarantee you that dude is still scary as hell

cant imagine how the players feel, forget the dog shit officiating, Embiid got away with 3 plays that warranted a flagrant foul, 1 a flagrant 2 he onjured a Knicks player, just so happens to be the guy giving him the most trouble this series..

Its absolutely ridoculous and the league wont do shit because that POS coach and organkzation filed a grievance against the NBA..

now to the officiating its an absolute joke that all it takes is for a coach to complain in the media and the next game they get every whistle under the sun..Embiid shot 23 free throws last night lol i meam come on..

Sixers shot the lights out in the 3rd, shot 14 more free throws and had to throw a temper tantrum to beat the Knicks while playing dirty and the Knicks were still a run away

As if there aren't enough reasons to love this guy, this would be a pretty massive development for the Knicks. He should be eligible for the Supermax when he hits unrestricted free agency, so taking the max agreement now I believe should save the Knicks a ton of money and allow them to operate under the second apron for longer. With OG, iHart signings coming up we could lock in almost our entire core for a solid 3-4 years this summer.

Only lingering question is Randle who is still underpaid, changed agents and technically could be going into a contract year next year assuming he declines the player option (he should).

There's a complete double standard. The refs didn't want to end the game on that play. If Hartenstein did that to Embiid he'd be gone before they went to the monitor.

They’re going to try to trade him. Was told they don’t feel like they need to add a superstar to win a title and will only do it if it’s Booker or Giannis. They think they can win a title adding a guy like Mikal and I tend to agree with them

They're going to try to trade Randle? I don't hate it. I think his value is actually close to his peak right now since there's a lot of "oh man what if Randle was back" and not a lot of "oh great Randle forgot to play defense again" and "oh Randle isn't running back on D to argue with the refs again".

I like Julius but I'm not tied to Julius. OG can certainly man the 4, there simply aren't many (any?) bruising PFs these days, and if you add either Booker or Bridges all of a sudden you have an absolute lights out shooting starting 5.

Was messing around in the Cap Machine a few days ago and Randle and Bogie for Booker is an exact dollar for dollar match. Both 49.3M

Hope we beat them on Sunday and get 48 minutes of the Garden crowd chanting “Fuck Embiid” in a close out game. Embiid went out there with an intent to injure players last night and there were no repercussions. I think I buy the theory that whatever medication he’s taking for the knee is messing with his brain. He’s unhinged.
I'm still pissed off morning after like a lot of you guys
mfsd : 4/26/2024 10:20 am : link
but the Sixers bullshit and the refs giving them a pass is still secondary to them somehow shooting 9-12 from 3 in the 3rd quarter.

Sometimes a team just gets stupid hot - look at what the Heat did in Boston in game 2

If the Sixer go even 6-12, which is a great quarter of shooting, the Knicks still have every chance to pull that one out last night. And that's with nobody not named Brunson having a big offensive night for the Knicks (OG put in a worthy effort).

Unless of course the refs kicking it into the fairway for Philly to ensure the series goes longer is real, which given the NBA may well be true

That was such an outrageously dirty and dangerous play. Imagine the outrage if someone did that to Embiid and he was injured on the play?
