The more I think about it, the more I think they would prefer to sit him until the next round. Washington is a cheap-shotting, chippy team. I'm pretty sure Lavi wants Rempe to stay in the lineup against them. Won't need a thumper like that so much against Carolina.
So I'm guessing the plan is to finish off Washington with the current lineup. Roslovic is playing pretty well, I think, so for now he stays on the top line. Come round two, Chytil slides into 3C, Wennberg to 4C, Goodrow to wing on the fourth line, and Rempe to the press box.
He's not going to sit Goodrow, and probably not Vesey. Like I said, Roslovic is playing fairly well right now, and his speed would be beneficial against Carolina.

I would sit Rempe for first game and see how it goes I guess. if it gets a little bumpy Roslovic
imho...first shot to his body/head that rocks him, his linemates and entire bench will hold their breath, hearts in throat. I don't think he's been taking any contact in practice, meaningful contact. And if he wobbles and collapses again? Not a way to build momentum through SCP gauntlet. imho
I get in early Sunday.
Anyone know of a watch party or a good Rangers bar to watch the game.
I am staying on 37th and 5th but location doesn't really matter

That's one heckuva matchup 4th line with Wennberg at center and Goodrow and Vesey on the wings. And would be a new version of the kid line with Chytil and Kakko, but with Cullye replacing Laffy. Adding a healthy Chytil to this line up would really make for an impressive 4 lines.
No rush though, he hasn't played a meaningful since November. As long as we keep winning, albeit against a sorry ass playoff team...I wouldn't rush him back.
Are the Rangers off today because of the NFL Draft?
him IMO. This is a cakewalk now you find out how ready he is when the stakes are lower because the reward is huge.
I wouldn't worry about team psyche if he gets hit. that's not how hockey players think. they'll be glad to have him back. and the team ripple effect/upgrade will be massive.
Hockey players drop like flies in the playoffs. And the team has been without him already the entire year. You play him when he is really ready and you need him, end of story. When that is, who knows.

I agree that he should not be rushed back for this series unless there is a glaring shift in momentum or an injury.
Who sits may change with the game, locale etc. A benefit of Rempe playing at MSG is that he really juices the crowd,

Filip Chytil will join #NYR on the trip to Washington D.C., per Peter Laviolette.

Also, Wennberg didn't practice today and Chytil skated in his spot. They said it's just "maintenance" but I wonder if he's banged up.

I also don't like tinkering with success.
