All signs point to Vikings taking a depressing QB choice outside the top-4
Per Dianna Russini of The Athletic Minnesota is engaged in multiple bidding wars just a day ahead of the first round. The Vikings and Giants are fighting over Maye which would require a deal with the Patriots. Minnesota and Denver both have interest in McCarthy at No. 4, as well. ESPN also reported that the Vikings don't want to trade away both of their 2024 first-round picks to move up, which would be a non-starter for most teams.

yes. Or is it another ploy by the Vikings? Or maybe they are resigned to taking Penix at 11.
I think it's pretty easy to arrive at a decision that there is hardly a difference in overall talent/grade between JMac, Penix and Nix. So, they could sit chilly later in the round and wait on Penix or Nix.
I don’t think she’s lying, but her info is likely just like everyone else’s - a dart throw based on whoever they are talking to.
Arizona has two first rd picks already. I don't see them taking a deal to drop back to 11, even with a trade back option.. Too many moving parts there.. I think AZ would move but not more than a few spots..
Pats-Zona-Giants should do a 3-way where Giants land in 3, Pats land in 4 and Zona lands in 6.
I don’t think so. Arizona has kind of hinted they’re not looking to trade really far back.
I don't think the Vikings were ever as big of a threat as some on here would have you believe. It's not about them though. It's about the teams moving down. They'd be missing out on one of the few elite prospects.
I disagree with this. I think the Pats are begging for a trade. If they loved a QB prospect they'd do the same thing the Bears/Skins have done. Tell teams thanks but no thanks.

That puts the Vikings back in play at 4. I'm confident that NE isn't interested in trading with MIN, not Arizona.

Minnesota would likely have to get 5 then move up to 4 and I don't think Harbaugh wants to trade down in rd1 for the first time ever when he's in dire need of a WR and the two top rated guys on the board are WRs of which he can get one of them guaranteed.
You want to pass on a potential franchise QB that Daboll loves for the next Evan Neal or Kayvon? It's stupid to overrate draft picks when you're trying to acquire a top tier QB.
Giving up next years #1 is a given to make that move. I don’t want them to give up the reported two additional 1’s on top of this years #6. That is dumb in my opinion and has disaster potential if the QB is a bust.
She is supposedly crafty with how she gets her sources ;)

But they will if they get a stupid offer. They are waiting for a team to be stupid. If the Giants trade away next years #1 it will be a stupid move

The 3 1st package is for the Vikings, not us.
And we could potentially get up to 3 without the 2025 1st if NE wants JJM at 4 it could basically be us trading pick 6, 70 and 2025 2nd for 4 then pick swap with NE so they get their guy and an extra pick. That isn't out of the realm of possibility.
The Chargers are the only concern.....as they have not shown their hand.

Agreed about LAC, but then Minnesota would have to trade again to 3 or 4 to secure Maye. Harbaugh has never traded down in rd1. They need a WR as bad as any NFL team and they have the two highest rated players in the draft at WR. They can get one of them. I don't see them budging either. NE loving JJM and LAC+AZ needing WR with such rare level elite WR prospects there for them really helps us in terms of Minnesota potentially getting locked out.
At this point, I would stop negotiating with the Patriots and focus on Arizona. But I wouldn't trade more than a second next year or a third this year to move up to #4, regardless of which QB is available.
Don't trust any of these "pundits." They're all being used. She's a nobody anyway.
