Assuming the Giants eat a chunk of salary, wouldn't one of the teams needing a QB have an interest? NE, Raiders, Broncos (Zach and DJ!)? That injury clause would probably have to go too I suppose. All he needs is protection and some weapons!
It would be nice to start fresh. Good for Daniel too. I can't imagine drafting a rookie as heir apparent and then watch DJ have that lost in limbo dumb look on his face all year.
you can also part with him after this season so...
Certainly nothing to count on.
B) They/DJ remove the injury guarantee in his contract.
C) The Giants eat most of the contract (if that’s possible)
Even after all of that you’re probably at most getting a swap of late round picks.
If the Broncos got nothing for Russell Wilson, what can you possibly expect the Giants to get for DJ?
If that's a trade, cool. If it meana a Post 6/1 release once he clears medical, also cool.
Daniel Jones will not be to Nabers what Eli was to OBJ, just won't be..
He has value to all those teams out there looking for a mid to slightly worse injury prone QB with a bloated contract.
The key is for Schoen to find all those teams who have that in mind with what they're looking for.
That's what makes the contract an albatross.

The long answer is he would most certainly have to restructure and forego his injury guarantee, and the Giants would have to eat all but the minimum of his 2024 salary.
In a scenario like that he might fetch a conditional late round pick.

What possible trade value could he have? He was the very worst starting QB in 2023. Worse than Zach Wilson.

Now add a big contract to that and massive injury concerns + the fact that everyone and their brother knows he's going to get cut.
Stay at 6 and either get a QB or WR. I prefer WR.
Let’s say the Giants agreed to eat the rest of his guaranteed money (I’m not even sure they could do that), I don’t see any team giving up more than a 6th.
Getting cut benefits Jones because it frees him from the injury guarantee and it places 36M in his checking account.
It also makes him a free agent coming off a torn ACL, without access to an NFL medical or training staff, 5 weeks before the season begins.
A better alternative might be restructure his deal to remove the injury guarantee, rehab with the Giants with the understanding he won't be playing, but can showcase his recovery, and work towards finding a trade partner during the pre-season.
Any trade the Giants make they will eat all but the minimum of his salary, as they are in the hook for that if he's cut.
I wish Schoen could make that happen.
Revisit this discussion next off-season.
But as of right now, no, nobody would want him as he would cost too much.

I wonder if the niners would have interest as a backup to Purdy.
