i like that. i agree with your other thread eric, this WR room is instantly extremely exciting. Wandale in the slot, slayton/hyatt threatening deep, Nabers moving all over.
RE: they mentioned nabers' toughness and tenacity a lot

Add Singletary and McKenzie to the receivers too. If we could get decent enough blocking, could be a solid enough offense.
Total guess, but if personality and competitiveness are the traits in Nabers they narrowed in on, I wonder if they didn't see that in Odunze.
i think they went for the explosiveness. the consensus seems to have been him and MHJ 1a/1b. he's also a full year younger than both MHJ/odunze.
i actually kind of tend toward players who win with smooth (odunze) over explosive because it's easier to lose explosiveness over time. OBJ was never really the same after the broken leg. but as smooth as devonta smith i guess we would all take jamarr and ajb over him. defenses probably worry more down to down about the explosive guy who can get to the house any play.

I’m sure it was close and it doesn’t mean Odunze didn’t have those traits. They just liked him better and that was pretty much the consensus. Some liked him better MHJ.

I have been thinking about this all off-season…but who is a dog on offense on this team? There is literally no personality, no competitive leadership.
So from that standpoint, I like the pick. But that outgoing competitive spirit can backfire when the QB doesn’t handle his job. This can easily backfire.

You cannot defend raw speed. Odinze ran a 4.45, Nabers ran 4.35. Watch this offense and see what is important. Why this baffles so many people is fucking infuriating. Speed kills. End of story.

Completely different point dipshit. I've been a fan of Nabers and posted repeatedly through draft season he was both my favorite player in the draft, and that he was the most explosive.
I was making an observation on how they kept coming back to his personality.
Don't you have a tree to go kick, then apologize to later?
I’m excited about Nabers. I like the wr core as a whole. Excellent speed and run after the catch. Some real potential there. I think it was the right pick.
At the same time I know jones will not be able to get them the ball. So this season feels like a waste and it’s hard to get excited for a season where he will be the qb.
I also understand the idea that delaying the qb clock may be a good thing as you’d in essence waste two years of the benefit of a rookie qb deal if you took one this year because of the jones contract.
Had he been available, I'd have taken Alt, but considering all of the
veterans Schoen added to the OL, Nabers is IMO the best choice to help the team in the immediate future.
I like Naber's cockiness, although he's probably going to complain a lot if he doesn't get 8 or 9 balls thrown to him per game. I kinda like that, too.

JS mentioned guys that ran 4.45, I think thats the number to him that draws the line so both check that box. They obviously like him more from the time spent with him. He left a mark in the room.

I actually wonder if it was the Vikings.

Good question, but I do think YAC and separation had a lot to do with it. Tenacity to break tackles, etc.

I'm just talking pure personality. That seemed to be in both their minds.

Maybe they just gave him McAdoo’s suit to wear?

I wonder if it was the Jets after Alt went off board.
