My first post at this forum was on March 12 titled "Too much wishful thinking on QB". The main point I made in the post: "To me it's pretty clear what the plan is: Unless something crazy happens and one of the top 3 QBs falls to #6 in the draft, Giants will draft a WR in the first round."
And the signals got more and more clear in my opinion. So this week on Wednesday I posted "Hard to explain if we don't draft WR1".
Now that the 1st round of drafting is complete, I feel compelled to do a part 2. Most folks participating in my posts and many other posts exhibited behavior similar to the following:
They seem to be very fixated on their own wishful thinking. They tend to only accept what aligns with their desires and go to great lengths to justify dismissing anything they don't like. Ultimately, they end up setting themselves up for frustration and disappointment.
Now look at the facts which were laid out before once again:
- JS is a thoughtful and analytical person
- WR is a high premium position
- Giants doesn't have a WR1 and didn't invest in WR1 in the last 2 years
- Giants' thin and low performing WR group is getting even weaker next season if nothing is done in the draft
- Giants didn't do anyting on WR in FA market this season
- the 4 WRs in the 30 visits, 3 in 1st round, the last one is a round 7 candidate. Nothing in between.
Isn't that pretty telling what Giants most likely would do in the 1st round draft?
Everybody everywhere realized there was a high likelihood the Giants would take a WR at #6. That wasn't some kind of insight you provided. Almost every mock draft had us taking Nabors at #6.

most of what you listed under "the facts" are actually opinions, right?

Many people liked JJM or Penix or Nix, so what? Youre not bringing anything new to the table here. Once again, what's the point of your post?

The last few days there were a ton of posts about the Giants trading up for a QB. If that did not happen, most people - and almost all mocks - had the Giants taking a WR if they stayed at #6.
Starting a thread congratulating yourself on calling something everyone expected is a bit pathetic.

Oh, then why most of the comments in my posts and other posts were about Giants were going to take a QB and not going to take a WR?

Agreed, New posts are supposed to add something new. It's quite simple.

I liked JJ McCarthy. I did say before the draft in the draft thread that my gut said trade up for Maye, heart said JJ at 6, head said Nabers or Odunze or trade down. Many people predicted the most obvious move of WR at pick 6. You're literally just trolling with this post like patting yourself on the back about something that was widely predicted throughout the media. If you have nothing new to add, there is no reason to make a new thread about it. Simple as that.
It feels like you are trying to pat yourself on the back for figuring out a commonly known fact that is documented all over this board for the past two months.
Seriously - that would be interesting. Not rehashing what happened last night. Tell us something that could happen tonight. Or delete the thread since it's about telling everyone you were right.
So one would think that this morning they'd want to maybe lay low, but you know they wouldn't. They're all back at it again today and you nailed not analyzing the situation for what it is but what they want it to be and then attacking, insulting and belittling anyone who dared question the mob narrative. and my guess is its how it will always be sadly.
Some of my favorites were the comments like 'my guy tells me its JJ!' when what their gut was really telling them was what they wanted to hear.

Look at the recent Lombardi post. We did have a deal in place for Maye as asshats said, then when NE couldn't get up to 4 or 5 from 6 they got cold feet about missing on QB so they just went with Maye...
