i bet not. nobody else was trading up aggressively. maybe someone would have traded up for alt in this different version of events but i cant imagine it would have netted more than a 1 or 2 spot move and a 3rd or 4th round pick. denver didnt move up for JJM, MIN only moved up slightly for him, if teams werent moving up for QBs they likely werent moving up for anyone else.
only a few minutes into it but if this is what you meant from the transcript:

Q: Joe, there were quarterbacks on the board. First of all, how aggressive were you trying to trade up to get a quarterback?
JOE SCHOEN: I think I said last week we were going to have conversations in front of us. We actually had conversations behind us. There was an opportunity for us to move out of the pick. So we had conversations. We had different plans in place. And we’re excited to have Malik Nabers here, so we’re real happy with the way it worked out.
dont you think nabers not being there would be a pretty big unknown as to whether or not they'd still have the chance to trade back? id imagine whoever contacted them about 6 the way the board broke was for nabers.

Could have been for Fashanu too
No one has a clue whom it is they would have picked! Only those
nabers seems to be viewed as a meaningfully better prospect than odunze, not as sure that's true w/r/t alt though.
Taking Nabers was beyond stupid.

No it couldn't have been Alt, since he went at 5.

odunze would have been the favorite but it could have been alt, and honestly could have been JJM.

My mistake. Obviously if LAC chooses Nabers Alt is still there.
