In the past 2 years he won 20+ games, completed 64% of his passes for 6000 yards, with 44 TDs and only 7 picks ... His bad ankle injury in November cost the Noles a shot at the FCS but he’s now in a boot and says he’ll be ready by the summer... he’s a proven winner at the highest level and I hope Schabs takes a chance, maybe not in the 4th, but hopefully in the 5th.
Either way, I will be rooting for Jordan Travis because he seems like a terrific kid.
Agree. I think he is the only one in this group that could become something other than a backup, but he has a lot more that needs to be fixed.
At this stage of the Draft, there are still some available players who could be real contributors next season vs. developmental projects. If we had six or seven remaining choices, it would be a different story, but with limited picks I vote for a potentially immediate contributor.
Agree with you. I would definitely take a shot on either Milton or Travis. Even if all they become is a backup QB in the NFL, it's a cheap 4 year contract.

I’m not sure it is reasonable to look at 5th and 6th round picks as immediate contributors. If they were ready to play in the NFL they would not still be on the board.
Because people believe early pick equals success …. 40% is 90% at worst in their heads

I don’t get why some clamor to top take a QB in the first who would have a 40% chance of success but not one in the later rounds.

Because QBs picked in the first round generally have all the physical tools needed to succeed in the NFL and have put out tape that shows potential to continue that in the NFL. Guys still waiting around in the 5th and 6th round are either more physically limited, or show some limiting traits that may not be fixable at the next level.
Picking a QB is not a blind draw where you just look at the percentages and try to decide if you like your odds. You are drafting an individual, not the history of the position.
Maybe people haven’t seen much of FSU so that is why they are hesitant…or maybe because of his injury. Nevertheless, this kid can do it all and is a winner as you said in your OP.
I hope Joe and Kafka also see these positive attributes and make him a Giant…not this Tennessee kid or this Rattler kid or this Pratt kid…TRAVIS IS THE NAME!
Travis - ( New Window )
UFDA signings should be interesting.
I would love it if they took him, unfortunately, he just doesn’t seem like a Giants type of draft pick, much like a Blake Corum, because of their size.
Rather go with defense.
He threw a lot of jump balls that Keon Coleman caught.
