Joe Schoen
With only 6 picks and a below-average NFL roster, I had a strong feeling he would not surrender draft capital. Of course, he is still on the hook for his QB room, but no one can say he hasn't vastly improved his WR room. His re-constructed O-line got no boost from this Draft and he is betting that it will hold up based on his past drafts and recent FA acquisitions.
#6 Malik Nabers
He's scarily good and unquestionably fulfills the Giants need for a #1 WR. A really nice complement to young players Jalin Hyatt and Wan'Dale Robinson.
#46 Tyler Nubin
This guy was Mocked to the Giants dozens of times. One of the best Safeties in this class. Giants had 18 INTs last season and that total could go even higher with Nubin in the line-up.
#70 Andru Phillips
Maybe you can never have too many CBs in a passing league. Could be a "Swiss Army Knife" for the Giants secondary. Truth be told, I had my eye on IOL Cooper Beebe who went to Dallas 3 picks later.
#107 Theo Johnson
I thought this guy was a steal and with Darren Waller practically gone (and a regression year for Daniel Bellinger) he brings a much-needed infusion of talent at the TE position.
#166 Tyrone Tracy Jr.
Another much-needed infusion of talent to the Giants offense. Love the way this guy moves, strong and elusive.
#183 Darius Muasau
Know nothing about this LBer save for the YouTube video I watched where he was calling out the plays before the ball was snapped.
The guy on Talkin Giants went crazy over the TE we picked even though the kid hasn’t received over 400 yards in any college year. I found that strange, but he wasn’t alone. Maybe the Penn State offense is still under Joe Paterno’s old fashion teaching…I don’t know.
My only disappointment was not picking up Jordan Travis, QB, late in the draft. The other NY team won out on that. I guess the Giants feel Tommy Cutlets is just as good…they may be right. Cutlets was impressive enough in his 6 games to give him more looks.
Overall, they did a good job of covering holes. For those clamoring for a QB, I get the sense that, after coaching a number of candidates in the all-star games, the staff was unimpressed and refused to be fleeced to move up. Clearly, they have a QB plan and it will become more apparent once we get closer to training camp and pre-season.
I'm one of the half full guys, until proven otherwise.
Still don't understand that last pick.
For the record, that’s who I wanted in Round Six.
