So, how many rookies will start Opening Day ?

By years end add Johnson and maybe Tracy

Literally being on the field for the opening snap. Because I'd imagine more rookies in the sub packages. Perhaps phrasing it as how many rookies will play 20% of the snaps game one

The burning question - Do the 2024 Giants have that much confidence in the current rookies ?

Is slot corners even on the field on first snap?

Tracy is a 3rd down back?

Johnson would be a surprise. TE blocking will be key on the Giants.

It will be interesting to track Nubin in preseason. No need to rush him with Belton around.

Snap #1 of the 2024 season will be a kickoff under the new rules. If the Giants are receiving, we might see Tracy or even Miller deep, with Johnson blocking. If they are kicking, Muasau might be in coverage with Nubin and a UDFA or two.

Nabers 85, Nubin 70, Phillips 60, will play 50% or more snaps.


Theo Johnson 20 and increasing to 50 through the season.
Tracy 10 and incraesing to 35.

The more interesting question is how many other "new" starters?
Burns, Belton. and a DT
Runyan, Eluemanor, Singletary

Returning starters most are year 2 or 3 players
Jones, AT, JMS, Neal, Bellinger, Robinson, Hyatt
Lawrence, Thibs, Banks, Pinnock, Okerke, McFadden, Flott


Dark horses to win starting spots
Hawkins, Either Beavers or Mausau. Either Anderson, Riley, or DJ Davidson.

Slayton and Simmons will play a lot but won't start unless Slayton starts for Hyatt (Good sign if Hyatt earns it).

First game, first play. On offense, I can imagine that Johnson will come in during the opening series on offense, and that Nubin and Phillips will get in early on defense. Tracy will get some snaps in the first game but his snaps will depend on the situation (down and distance). We don’t want him to be the guy who gets Jones killed.

First game, most of the rest of the rookies will get their feet wet on special teams. Except for Nabers, I don’t see any rookies getting more than 50% of the snaps.

Do see Tracy getting ST reps and possibly the teams #1 kick returner. To be determined if he can become the backup RB. Pass pro is the key, and Gray struggled with it early last year, too.

Rating the 2024 rookie WRs

I'm going to guess just Nabers. But others will start at some point, I would think (hope).

I hope Schoen hit a HR in this draft because Lord knows he needs some pelts on the wall. But it is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too early to say anything about this class. The draft was less than two months FFS, Haha.
