Here's the list, with my(ignorant man's) take on who's better, position by position
Left Defensive End; Davidson; Joseph-Day; EVEN
Nose tackle Lawrence; Sweat; GIANTS
Right Defensive End; "Nacho"; Simmons; TITANS
Weak Linebacker; Burns; Landry; EVEN
Strong Linebacker; Thibodeaux; Key; GIANTS
Left Inside LB; Okereke;Gibbens; GIANTS
Right Inside LB; McFadden; Murray; EVEN
Strong Safety; Pinnock; Hooker; EVEN
Free Safety; Nubin; Molden; TITANS
Right Cornerback; Banks; Sneed; GIANTS
Left Cornerback; Flott; Awzuie; EVEN
My take, GIANTS, by a nose. The talent on the field will dictate how Bowen plays it. OK, why do you think.
I WANTED to give Flott the advantage, he has been, he yet to show he can take the starter role and keep it (he couldn't beat Adoree Jackson, when he faltered).
If he shines this year, I'll be super-happy.
Banks over Sneed… my bad that’s even worse
The BIG question - Does Bowen think this team is better, if so, will he more comfortable is pressing offenses more, than he did with the Titans ?
My feeling is that he does think so, but he not going to say so, till he sees the team prove it on the field.
Is not critically consequential.
I would submit that:
There are important similarities (and differences) in the 2023 Titans vs the 2024 Giants team, that, in my humble opinion point to a greater level of success for Bowen's schemes and philosophies.
The point of this thread is to invite a voicing of agreement (or disagreement) on not only individual players but groups (for example the defensive line, linebackers etc.) in the Bowen tenure
But equally important are the following underlying questions -
1. Do we have the right kind of players to fit into the Bowen system ?
2. If so, are they any better (individually/collectively) than what he had to work with with the Titans ?
1. I am 100% WRONG with my nod to Banks over Snee (who has been correctly identified NOT being on the Titans, last year)...
2. My reply to Mike is thus ....
The point of this discussion is rigidly limited to team defense (as you can see by the individuals that I mentioned in my list).
(I do grant that the Titans may indeed pick top-five (with the loss of monster RB Derrick Henry, but that has nothing to do with the crux of this discussion).
The Titans were ranked 17th and Giants 27th in team defense.

Consequently, I do believe Bowen's presence here represents
a factor of hope. The addition of Burns (just like getting an additional #1 pick, besides rookies Ty Nubin & Dru Phillips), persuades me to believe that he can even do better than he did, here in 2024, than he did in Tennessee with the tools that he had there (especially not having a CB like Snee on-board).
Thank you for your corrections (especially about Snee - my source led me astray).
As you all know, the history of the New York Giants championship teams has often been led by stout defenses. I think, this year can signal the revival of that tradition.
