Going to be a disaster, IMO.

Each one...

will suck more than the last.
Outside of the Batman & Superman storylines

DC is filled with so much crap. I'll list the characters that I think have a chance of eeking by a profit margin.

-The Flash
-Wonder Woman
-Super Girl
A better investment would

be for Image to put out a series of movies on The Walking Dead. They could probably milk 3 or 4 films out of it.
Too bad they didn't do a good job with Green Lantern.
BeerFridge : 4/29/2014 10:43 am : link
That could have been fun.
Ugggh!
Ira : 4/29/2014 10:44 am : link
They're all just a lot of noise with cheap, phony plots.
Martian Manhunter could be a cool one.
Sir-Yes-Sir : 4/29/2014 10:47 am : link
Aqua man could be a great parody

Apache Chief could be a Will Ferrel vehicle....
Please make

it stop. Amazing that they (dc/marvel) are already redoing spiderman/batman. Do we really need to see the same stories over and over and over again? These huge budget movies take screens at theatres away from new ideas.

When people stop lining up to see them, they will stop making them.
I'm dying to see Locke
Vin R : 4/29/2014 10:54 am : link
But it's not playing anywhere close to me, unless I go to NY. Of course I'm going to see Spider-Man this week but does it really need to take up 5+ screens at a single theater?

Phony plots? Batman is an biographical translation of the real life vigilante Nathaniel Kinney and his Bald Knobbers gang.
haha
UConn4523 : 4/29/2014 10:57 am : link
why not. More for me to make fun of. They will always make money for the most part, so I get why they do it, but man are most of these movies lame.
I don't want to pick on anyone in particular,
Exit 172 : 4/29/2014 11:01 am : link
but a BBI poster just a day or two ago basically said that "no matter what they put out, I'll see it."

That's kind of the problem here. Like Chris said, people have to stop going after they acknowledge that these movies aren't particularly good.

It's a shame because this crap uses hundreds of millions of studio production dollars that would be put to better use taking a chance on original material.
I'd recommend the new Wes Anderson film

Really beautiful and funny as shit. Ralph Feinnes is the hero the Budapest Hotel really needs, but isn't ready for.
I think you all missed the point...

The two DC properties named in the article -- Sandman and Fables -- are both critically acclaimed and neither are typical DC super heroes comics.

Sandman is a comic written by Neil Gaiman from DC's adult imprint Vertigo about Morpheus, the Lord of Dreams, and Fables, another Vertigo property that was written by Bill Willingham, is about fairy tale/folklore characters living in disguise in Manhattan.

Neither of these lives in the regular DC Justice League universe. I think there is a lot more potential here than with a Flash/Aquaman/Green Lantern/etc. movie.
I hope they're not utter crap
mfsd : 4/29/2014 12:10 pm : link
like Man of Steel, but I'm not optimistic

But I'm sure their computer FX guys are excited to create 9 movie's worth of shit being blown up
Whew
Steve L : 4/29/2014 1:00 pm : link
Thank goodness they're making the Sandman movie. I've been waiting for that, lol

I've been trying to figure out how to hire my own Lobby Boy after seeing GBH.
the first 10 minutes
Osi Osi Osi OyOyOy : 4/29/2014 2:04 pm : link
of Batman and Superman interaction will hold the fate of the next 1500 minutes of DC superhero movies.

I've always been a Batman fan since I was a kid, so I'll catch the first movie to see how it is. But it's a little scary how much everything relies on Ben Affleck to hit it out of the park.
Also Chris Terrio

Warners

has been idiotic about this.
Is that true?
Sneakers O'toole : 4/29/2014 2:11 pm : link
Argo was pretty good. Maybe there is hope for it.

yep
If any of the movies are like Man of Steel,
TheBigBlueOne : 4/29/2014 2:49 pm : link
I will not want to see them. Man of Steel was not a pleasant experience. All that noise and lights and overdone action. Not to mention the wanton destruction without consequences. It was kind of numbing.

Frankly I don't see how Metropolis rebuilds from this. The Feds will just write that city off as a loss. Since there isn't much city to defend, Superman will just move to Gotham, leading to Batman vs Superman because no one steps on Batman's turf.

Yeah, I agree. Man of Steel was awfully disappointing.
In the right hands, Sandman can be fantastic

I don't usually read graphic novels, but my wife introduced me to The Endless, and holy shit, is it great.
