I hope that they never have the draft there again. It was a total shit show. I was yelling at my TV to please stop with all the shitty singing and all clowns that they let on TV. The draft is turning into a side show. Just stick to Football please!
I thought it was very well done. It was the actual staging of the draft that sucked - the picks from zoos and outer space and all that nonsense. It will almost certainly be in Philly again next year and I have been hearing Dallas after that.
the whole thing sucked listening them sing that song over and over again. Also watching three guys walk up to the stage in the later rounds and make picks was KILLING ME!

This. I hate all things Philly, but having the draft there was not the problem. In fact I think it's good that fans get to attend the draft in different cities and the turnout was supposedly over 100,000 the first two days each. The problem was the WWE like production. It was brutal. But I had no problem with where it was.
I mentioned this on another

thread, but the NFL has taken overstaging to new heights. Just make the picks and announce them.....no frills. They could cut hours off the broadcast.
This is a show....why does ESPN do it? Out of the goodness of their hearts? For Ratings......the serious football fan, would stare at a screen, that just had a teleprompter announcing the picks.....but they want a huge audience, and if using gimmics "gits her done", ratings will determine which way they go...
As for cutting off hours, there is a specific time between picks...you are not going to change that....thus there is fill time between them.....as a famous Gladiator once asked, "Are you not entertained?"

Agree as well...the problem wasn't Philly, it was how the NFL has turned it into a fiasco. Unwatchable.
But I thought it was pretty well done. The NFL is day by day becoming the WWE so screaming at the camera and watching idiot fans with signs are going to happen pretty much in any city. I admit listening to the EAGLES song made me sick but I also kind of laughed knowing they never have won. FLY EAGLE FLY (then get shot out of the sky).
I would bet money it will be there next year. The NFL knows exactly what the setup will be and will know how to fix any issues. I also heard Dallas is in the mix. Jerry with Jerry Dome, Jerry World (practice facility).
yet again what stupid ,no class scum they were with all the booing and the raw hate for their own division. sure none of the division like each other much but at least the rest of the division (less so with dallas then us and skins) wouldnt embarrass themselves with a performance like that
its the reason the rest of the division has multiple superbowl wins and they have nothing they have no class ,and probably never will. the site on the "rocky" steps was just indicative of how little football knowledge and pedigree they have make me glad to be big blue
Agree, the Drew Pearson bit put a lot of current WWE's promo bits to shame!
Well, if they wanted to go full WWE, this is what SHOULD have happened...
When Goodell came out on stage, you know he was going to get the mother of all boo's in Phily. What I would have done was this (if I were booking it).
As Goodell hits the stage, and the boos start, you hear "No Chance in Hell" start booming over the speakers. Then you see this:
Vince McMahon comes strutting down the stage, accompanied by Hunter Hearst-Helmsly. McMahon and HHH take the mike in front of a 'stunned' Goodell, and do the Pearson rant about how low class Philly is (maybe throw in a few "bingo hall" ECW references). Jim Ross somehow gets into the NFLN set!
After the crowd starts booing them, Vince tries to shake Roger's hand. Rodger refuses. McMahon then gives HHH the signal, and then:
HHH DOES A PEDIGREE ON GOODELL!
All you hear in the background is Jim Ross:
“Good God almighty, good God almighty, that killed him…as God as my witness he is broken in half”
If that doesn't make Goodell a babyface, I don't know what will. Would have been epic if that happned, though!
I must admit that the crowds and the people there did make it a great atmosphere. It seemed much livelier than Chicago, I was actually entertained by a lot of the stuff everyone seems to hate.
This is what you call typical heavy handedness from producers Â
Drew Pesrson and his WWE like heal promo was perhaps the greatest draft day moment. Ever. So as much as I hate Philly, and Dallas. It was a "moment".
I too loved Pearson's "in yer face" dialogue giving the razzing right back to the Eagle's fans. And don't get me wrong, I hate the Cowboys more than is mentally and physicall healthy for me (them and the Patriots)

You mean you're not looking forward to next year when Mickey Mouse and other lovable Disney characters make the pick? C'mon Goofy drafting for the Jets would be gold.
Another guy brought out his infant son and raised him up like the Lion King.
The guy the Falcons took coming out and screaming at the camera what was that?

Somebody post a pic... don't know how.

"Monkeys are funny, everyone loves monkeys."
But I thought the venue was terrific, much better than Radio City with all the outdoor stuff they were able to setup.
