Jon Ledyard and Trevor Sikkema did their mock draft. It is based on what they would do in each team's position. It is not based on what they think teams will do. These guys have an interesting take on the draft. Smart guys who watch tape. Anyway I am sorry Barkley fans, they have Barkley going after Guice. One has Barkley going behind both Guice and Michel. For one, Barkley drops to Seattle at 18 and the other the Pats get Barkley. I guess they are not sold on the idea that Barkley is the second coming of Barry Sanders crossed with Jim Brown but better. They have Rosen as the number one player and they both have Mayfield as number 2 - going to the Giants. Please feel free to flame me with your personal attacks because I dared to challenge the BBI orthodoxy that Saquon Barkley walks on water, and also he is just a good clubhouse guy. By the way here are the first 20 picks. Both gentlemen feel Josh Allen is not a first round talent. I have also linked the podcast.

Locked on NFL Draft - 4/2/18 - Dueling Mock Draft Monday - (

yea these guys are out of the box. Even though I rag on Barkley as a candidate for the Giants at #2, I have much higher regard for him than these guys do. They give Barkley the same grade as Sony Michel. I think Barkley is a top-10 to top-12 pick. I want to see the Giants get Rosen. I am not sure about darnold. So if it's Darnold and Rosen I go Rosen. I like Mayfield as well. The size is a bit of a concern so I would be happy if Rosen is there and maybe the Jets go Mayfield or Allen.
But hey they are smart, they watch tape.
a couple of weeks i think. well i just notice the inclination by some to get very personal when i say Barkley is a lousy pick for the giants at #2 or when I say Rosen is clearly the better pro prospect than Allen.
hmm well thanks for the pep talk. i don't think i take it personally. but the decorum on this board is ummm often lacking i would say.
perhaps.. but it is not based on where they think the draft will go, but rather based on their player evaluations. Where do you think they are wrong?
Barkley could fire up a blunt, put a gas mask on Goodell and fill it with smoke and he'd still go top 10, if not higher.....

See it’s an opinion, most people on here have one and come here to discuss. If you really are new to BBI, don’t take it personally.

No... you just seem to have an issue when people disagree with you.
2 OGs in top 7.
Waste of time mock.

You're seriously talking about decorum? YOU? You are often the instigator, madude.

hmm.. I truly don't think I have instigated anything. I never attack people here personally. Yes I have forcefully stated my opinion, namely that selecting a RB at pick #2, especially in the Giants' situation, is asinine. It is an extremely wasteful use of draft capital. I don't buy the counter argument that one selects BPA. I don't know what that means. RBs are significantly less valuable than QBs. They are such poor value compared to QBs it is breathtaking that more people on here don't understand that. A top QB wins you championships and the Gmen are in position to pick 2nd in the best QB class in some time. To pass that opportunity to select a RB betrays a lack of understanding of positional importance and valuation. That is why this mock draft is interesting. These guys are telling you RB is not especially important to winning. This is especially the case when there are so many good options at the RB position that can be had in the 2nd and 3rd round.
The other counter argument I hear is that a good organization doesn't win when you select players "based on need". Sorry I call BS on that one too. Obviously we are not talking about selecting a 5th round guy over BArkley. All these QB prospects are regarded as first round guys. At least three are regarded as top-6 guys. Sorry but it is no contest - a top-6 QB is worth at least twice as much as a top-6 RB. RBs may seem sexy and flashy but they are easily replaceable. Many times two mediocre RBs in a committee can outpace the best backs in football. QBs are hard to replace. Sometimes impossible to replace. The Jets havent had a great QB since Joe Namath.
Here we are in the catbird seat with a #2 pick and at least four exciting QB options. And we are going to pick a RB? If the Giants do this it will be malpractice.
So folks here can't handle a forceful expression of this position and say stupid things about me and my handle, etc etc.. They can't articulate an actual logical response so they yell at me. Sorry the truth hurts. I am certain DG will select a QB - probably Rosen or Allen.. if he doesn't he is a fool. He will probably cede the town to the Jets and eventually lose his job. I do doubt however that he will make this mistake.
thanks Steve!
