He's always been like this - when he knows who he wants, he takes them. I like it. It tells me he's prepared and knows the players and feels confident about his choices.
I read he would have been up to the podium immediately Â
Potential trade talks don’t just start when a team gets on the clock, especially in later rounds when you only have 5 minutes. Teams discuss what they are willing to do if a player is around so Gettleman knows if there is anyone close to providing an acceptable offer.

There have been professional studies on hedge fund and financial managers and there is a statistical correlation between underperformance and elevated testosterone levels.
Those managers tend to make many trades and quick decisions.
It’s not a hallmark of a proven winning strategy. Don’t confuse decisiveness with actual knowledge or planning

Stupid post. What about DGs decision making so far gives you any evidence he’s not prepared or making rash decisions based on elevated testosterone levels?
The dumb is really flowing through BBI this weekend
Stick to your board and take guys you have conviction on. What did the Rams produce out of the RGIII trade? What did the Browns produce out of the Julio Jones trade? Carson Wentz?

It all depends on how your board looks. If you have four players on same tier, which are the best remaining, and someone three picks away wants to move up, take extra pick(s) and trade down. It is different if you have 4 players and someone wants to come up 23 picks

Agreed. But, I also think fans forget it takes 2 to tango. Buffalo did not need to trade up to 2. Denver did not even take a QB and admitted he never talked to DG. Despite the asshat report, I do not believe the Browns offered to move up to 2. Fans assume everyone is pounding the door to move up.

The original post seemed to not like this. A number of the follow up indicates that there is more behind the scenes. The problem with Reese is that, if you look at a show like Finding Giants, there were times when they had lots of names they were deciding between and were ranked on the same tier and they didn’t seem to explore trading down. With Gettleman the quick picking appears more to be a function of they had a specific player that was above the rest (Barkley, Hernandez, Carter)

said that he was one of two people who caused the NFL to institute a rule requiring teams to wait at least five minutes in the first round before handing in their pick. I can't remember the name of the other person.

Thank you -- had never seen that study.

This is a very, very large reach.
