I’m not saying that Golladay is as good as Plax, but saying Plax had a better baseline is simply not accurate. He had been in the league longer when he signed with the Giants but Golladays two good seasons compares very well to Plax’s two best seasons prior to joining the Giants. He had only two 1000 yard seasons in Pittsburgh in 5 seasons. Golladay has two in 4 seasons and missed most of this season
I think the medicals are more the concern. You don’t see a lot of guys missing 9 games with a hip flexor strain. If he had a proper tear, and didn’t have surgery, that could still be looming.
The flip side is him taking his sweet time coming back to work. And if that’s something Patricia and O’Brien have flagged to Judge.

Yeah, there was some suspicion by the media that he was milking it to get through 2020 but Detroit themselves stated this was not true
I'm just curious how someone that has watched full games of him can actually have this opinion.
That I don't think KG is great? He's a good WR. But that word great is thrown around way too much and too loosely.
Oh please. When someone says “I’m not sure is that great” it is not exactly a compliment. And has less than zero to do with greatness used in that context and you know it.
You’d get more reps around here if you’d just be honest and say “if the Giants are interested in him then I think he sucks”. Because that’s really what this is all about. It’s ALWAYS what it’s about with you.
If Golladay were a great player he wouldn't get to FA
Did Tyreek Hill get to test FA out of his rookie contract? DeAndre Hopkins? Julio Jones?
If Golladay were a great player he would have signed an extension in Detroit last year. And further, of that didn't happen he'd have his pick of enormous contracts to choose from.
This is a guy with one good season two years ago who is coming off a year where he milked an injury not to play. He's not a great player.
If we sign him that's fine. If we don't, that's probably better in the long term.

In 2019 he was 7th in receiving yards and 1st in receiving TDs among all NFL receivers. I agree he is not "great" as that implies consistently high production over several years, but a lot of people look at the low receptions and dismiss him entirely as WR1 material. He may not be a 100-125 reception receiver, but the point of the game is to get first downs and TDs. He can definitely help the Giants in both of those categories.
