is about 10,000 times more likely than the species evolving and being here 5,000 years from now. Stephen Hawking predicted humans will be extinct in 700 years. I would say 500 at most.
genetic engineering will determine what we look like
Messing with the human genome may be fraught with taboo today but not over a 10k year timeframe. In much less time than that the human physical form will be of our choosing. Or somebody's choosing.

Interesting, almost a Gattaca type selection process. Will we all be however our parents want/can afford us to look? Will cybernetics play any role? I like the genome thought.
" People from a poverty-stricken future year of 3045 travel back in time to find work, via a recently discovered time portal. When the boys try to earn some extra money, the time-traveling immigrants are willing to do the same work for next to nothing, causing the boys to lose their jobs. This affects the town's economy and the employment of the original occupants.
The episode is widely remembered as the origin of the catchphrase "They took our jobs!" " goobacks - ( New Window )
Humans will "evolve" with the addition of tech implants to enhance intelligence and better communicate with for a lack of better term the internet of things and each other. With singularity occurring within a generation+, it will be a necessity to make this leap to harness/control (if that's even possible) the power of AI. Even then, we won't be able to keep up with computer learning capabilities of AI. I'm betting that we muck it up and the world will eventually be powered/controlled by AI. Probably within the next 300 years if not sooner.
we will "evolve" into cyborgs/robots. already are.
We are going the way of the dinos.
and it won't take long, either ...

ahem, you may want to pay attention to the thread premise on what people will be like 10k to 200k years in the future.
So John Mara is already way ahead on the evolutionary scale

I always wanted to see Kraftwerk live but never got around to it. Now Florian Schneider is dead, so I never will.
