being a kid now is nearly as exciting as being a kid in the 80s was. We had that insane anticipation towards summer blockbusters that could only be seen in the theater, and we couldn't just choose endless hours of other content we liked to combat it. I don't think there's a modern equivalent to that.

Spaceballs needs an honorable mention. I saw that when it came out & about 3/4ths of the jokes went over the head of this child. 'I bet she gives great helmet.' Hahaha. I had no clue WTF that meant when I saw it the first time.

Adventure films can be well received.

E.T. may be a kids movie but it is a quality movie production wise.

Can't believe I forgot Star Trek 2- The Wrath of Khan!
after a horrible Star Trek one, they fell back to Kirk's arch-villian to save the franchise. What a movie, still holds up too.
