Daniel Jones deserves every chance he can to show he belongs as a starter... to earn a big contract... if he can't be the man... we will move on with tons of cap space and a hole at the position
I'm more than ready to see Taylor come in and give us Fromm/Glennon level performace, but I think that it would be the new regime's worst nightmare to see that happen.
Some people just need to lay off the drugs lol. You want to talk about benching a guy that played his ass off yesterday and is one of the few bright spots from the day??? I was at this game and there are certainly some differences I have seen in Jones compared to the last several years. Let's trust the damn process for once. Jones may or may not be the answer going forward, this shit just needs to stop....I am pulling for him and his team is behind him. Let the chips fall where they may at the end of the year. Whether you like him as our quarterback or not, he IS and WILL BE our QB barring injury.
RE: I really don’t know what some of you are watching
One of the best QBs in the league in years who ANYONE would want immediately on their team today couldn't do diddly poo with a bad OL.
Our line let through 24 pressures last night, which is the highest amount in the history of that statistic since its inception in 2009.
Let that sink in.
What's the point? I don't give a rats ass who the QB is, with a line as bad as the one that played last night for the Giants, you're not going to win anything.
the success Jones had last night. Kind of tough to complete passes hwen you are on your back or your receivers cannot get open. If Tyrod was the QB we would have lost by a lot more than 7 points. DJ kept us in the game.
While I am not a huge DJ fan, I do acknowledge he guives us the best chance to win this year. And he most likely will not be a Giant next year, but give him the opportunity to showcase himself.
I’d the guy can’t be peak Tom Brady REGARDLESS of the circumstances around him, than he’s crap and needs to be replaced. This is the society we now live in.
RE: did jones throw some bad balls last night, yes
always amused me that when fans hate a QB, they clamor for an even worse QB to take over. Tyrod isn’t going to do any better than Jones has been so far, and he’d be playing if Daboll felt otherwise.
A n old career backup with a losing record and below par completion %?
Every time I see a post that says "Most" or "The Majority" or "It's clear".....that DJ is "not the answer" I have to wonder if it's ever occurred to that poster that the only opinions that matter, no matter the media or even the vast majority of BBI posters....Twitter, etc, is that of Brian Daboll, Joe Schoen, and Mike Kafka. Everything else is hot air during a 17 week evaluation of Daniel Jones.
Wasn't the last time we saw Tyrod Taylor was when he was being picked up off the turf after the Jets defense hit him on his first drive of the pre-season game?
How long do you suppose he would have lasted last evening?
If Jones played for the Cowboys last night you would
BUT, DJ hasn't played bad enough to lose his job, yet. But for shits and giggles, why not. If he puts up similar numbers, with similar results, then we'd have our definitive answer to the JAG debate that not even Jonestown can argue with.
Look, I was advocating all summer for there to be a competition
But, we don't need to see what he has. We know what Taylor is. I only wanted a competition because I was not convinced Jones was significantly better and of the two, Taylor is more likely to still be here next year.
But, now that the season started, no, I'm not ready for Taylor. I still don't think Jones merits a new contract or the franchise tag. But, he is a decent QB who will play his heart out and he is the starter.
Is less keen on this idea than you, assuming he caught a glimpse of the house on fire that was giants pass protection last night. I’m sure he’s fired up about the chance to get treated like a human piñata while lighting up the scoreboard throwing to the wide open Richie James and David Sills slicing through opposing secondaries. I imagine a Tyrod Taylor piñata would look eerily similar to a Daniel Jones piñata.
Tyrod is a journeyman backup on his sixth team. Jones has had mixed performances but he’s 2-1 and has played generally well not to mention he’s being evaluated for the future.
Think this sums it up perfectly.
^This.
Why? "Just because" is the really the only reason I'd want to see him
I can't make it make sense, sorry
Keep him on the bench until he is absolutely needed due to injury.
The attacks on him today are more vociferous and unfair than usual.
He was their best player on the field last night and it has stirred them up for some reason
Agree wholeheartedly.
But DJ is the QB. Period. So stop this absolute bullcrap.

why bench him when he has played better each week? stupid.

That's a lot of common sense, way too much for bbi.

Good post.
There's really no other possibility here.
If we swapped offensive lines instead, we would have won by three scores
Why...does this place blow as much as Maryland Blows?
