It's been nearly 20 years here now...I got here in July of 2003, when I was looking on the web for info on the upcoming Giants training camp. My thought process then was that there HAD to be a place on this big assed world wide interwebs thing that would have at least as much info as the old team mags that were out there at the time.
What do you know, I found BBI and it was as if the clouds parted and the Lord Himself said, "Behold, for I have brought you tidings of Great NY Football Giants Joy!" I was 41 back then, and I thought of myself as an old timer on the board then. If it weren't for Bruce who had been waiting for BBI since he sold his old abacus and printing press, I'd be pushing the upper limits of the age groups on here now. And whodathunkit that the actual owner of the site would end up living literally 3 miles from me?
The Margi joke never gets old, and has never bothered me. I took it as it was...a fuck up that I had earned. I've had my ups and downs here. I (and we)_have lost several dear members over the years, most way too early. One in particular, Phil in LA, came to mind when Klaatu posted the A&C Meets Frankenstein picture. That was Phil's favorite A&C movie, and one of his overall faves as well.
I just lost my best friend and roommate from college a week ago, and another dear friend is in hospice with leukemia and doesn't have long. Two older relatives have just been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and we lost my brother in law to cancer and my mother in law (at 94!) in the last year or so. So it's been a tough time recently. Having this place has always been one of the places to escape.
I've meet literally dozens if not a hundred BBIers over the years at different functions that we unfortunately no longer hold. What a group. It's been a great time.
Thanks again, off to get the Early Bird Special which includes a tenderloin, salad, and baked potato for $4.95!
Great picture. Great movie
Wish there was a few more universal monster picks. I still eat them all up and been watching them for 1/2 century
Happy bday!
I don't know if you were here for it, but one year we used to have a pregame A&C movie thread, because many of us grew up watching their movies before games.
Thanks for being a great contributor to our community for a long time.
Happy Birthday. Hope its a great one!
