We have so much DT depth along with a much improved MLB in Okereke. I’m more concerned with Lamb and Cooks against our young unproven secondary. Gonna need to generate a pass rush and keep Dak’s timing off to be successful. I think our Offense can hang though.

I am concerned about putting 2 rookie CBs on an island with no help if we need to overload to get pressure on Dak.
If we can get pressure by sending 4 or 5 we will be in good shape.
Lot of new players in the front seven. One positive is that they did a very good job against Tennessee last season in the opener (26 carries, 96 yards, 3.6 ypc).
If they hold Dallas to similar numbers I think they will be in very good shape.

He’s their best offensive player..but I think doing well against the run goes hand in hand with defending Lamb. The more predictable down and distances the Giants can get Dallas in, the more one dimensional you make their offense it can only aid Martindale in getting to his pressure packages vs Dallas passing game.

And Schottenheimer leans toward running between the tackles. Interesting to see if they go that route knowing it plays right into our DL strength and depth.

for 124 can be very different with how those yards are obtained. If he or any back had a couple big runs but many of the others are minimal gains then Wink could still utilize his blitz packages and have favorable down/distance situations.
If they are getting high carries with consistent 4-5 yards then that makes it more challenging.
The first game played out this way last year with the Giants the team that got a couple big runs. Dallas had more carries and was very consistent in gains. Giants gave up a lot of sacks (Neal 3) and Jones had a turnover.
It's interesting LOS to see how much your view of the run game has evolved from the days where you relentlessly abused the board about the virtues of 4 YPC (then 4.2) and 30 carries.

As to the topic point , the Dallas running attack will not win the game . But it might finish the game . Optimism abounds for the Giants , and rightly so. However it must be tempered with realism . This is going to be a very difficult task.

Neither Crowder, Calitro nor Ellis are currently on an NFL roster, while Williams is a journeyman.

this was a shot at Andrew thomas. I have to imagine Thomas and the giants remember this stuff.

They are saying it is minor. He didn't miss a snap last year as a rookie so I imagine he will be fine.

Agree. Vaughn's highlights from college are pretty remarkable. His dad is a scout for the Cowboys so no surprise he ended up there.

The version of Neal that shows up early in the year will have an outsized impact on the W/L record.
How big of a liability he was early and late in the season cannot be ignored.
