I think with Hyatt in that type of game, you bring in maximum protection on say, second and 6, send both Slayton and Hyatt deep and just hope the protection holds up long enough for Hyatt to run past the safety.
I think the above is a lot more effective with Thomas and Barkley in the game, which may be why it didn't happen.
maybe he is doing the reveal-as-little-as-possible thing. If the latter, I don't blame him. It's annoying for us and the reporters, especially if the team isn't winning, but it's probably the best approach for a coach.
more would you want him to say? There are no points to score in the press conference. You can be as bland as possible and move on, or you can have a Joe Judge style meltdown.

I get the long ball being gone but what about giving him the ball in a 5-10 yard window and letting him use his speed to run down the field? It makes no sense not to play the guy cause the deep ball wasn't there. He is the FASTEST guy on the team. Get him the ball where you can and see what he can do.
