for Thibs to get to 10-12 sacks this year. He has done it. He had a lot of good plays today - almost had a sack on Simmons pick six...he and Sexy Dexy with tons of pressure.
RE: What are his numbers like in non Redskin games?
against the Washington OTs. Those are pretty much his best games. This was the 2nd game this year when he was playing well and took a stupid 4th qtr penalty

He was trying to break up the pass, what exactly would you like him to do?

I'd like him to not hit the QB in the face. I think his coach would agree
I think we can stop complaining about drafting him now...

Not on,y having a very good season.
But, none of it happened until he was nationally being questioned and criticized.
Mental strengthens as impressive as his stats.

That was an unfortunate consequence of a great individual play.
He got his arms up and hit Howell’s arm. Howell’s arm deflected Thibs’ arm into his face mask. Wink won’t be complaining to Thibs about that play.
RE: What are his numbers like in non Redskin games?
He was a really young, unrefined football player when he got here, playing PAC12 ball. He's flashing vs. both the run & pass. He's still inconsistent which is common with a young player - next step is putting a good game together every week.

+1. And I think he’ll be better when they get another good Edge on the other side.
Edge rusher, defensive tackle, cornerback, linebacker, tight end, #1 wide reciever, guard, tackle, QB, running back. There is no hope that we can fix this in 1 off season, with this team it feels like 1 step forward and 1 step back. Making little to no progress.

Bill in Utah.
What would the former Oregon Duck need to do to win you over ?
The Kid has 11.5 sacks this year and is playing nearly every down.
Which is top 10 in the league and has as many tackles and more sacks than all world Micah Parsons.
There have been more than few times when Lawrence gets to the QB, Thibodeux is also right there
Need one more decent rusher at this point. Teams are starting to chip and doubling Thibs and obviously they have been doing the same to Dex for a while.
Were busts. And all the DT haters forget no OBJ trade no Dex. Lots of short memories and people who just can't help themselves but saying stupid shit
For years this team had no one you cared about losing. Ow there a growing number of good young players. Thibs and Neal are the latest guys who can't ever get better.
Good fucking God. The kid has 10 sacks w 7 games left.
I just want to point out that Michael Strahan did not achieve double digit sacks until his fifth year playing professional football. This is KT’s second year and he still has six games to go. Keep hating everyone out there. You’re making asses of yourself.
But Papa and Banks called him out for good plays against the run as well.
That's my big take away. Thibs is a closer. IT's the other aspects of his game that need work. Playing the run/setting the edge is key. He's doing it and is more than capable. He's gotta stay healthy too. He has all the tools. The officials need to start calling the holds that are constantly committed against him too. It's good to see KT play through it more and earn their respect---unlike Sauce Gardner who seems to hold all the time, but that's neither here nor there.
Need to find a reliable edge player opposite him - would make LB a real strength with Okereke and McFadden.
Totally agree. Giants have more talent than people realize up front. We need to solidify the front 7. Gotta get two more DL for the 3-4 and another edge opposite KT. LT had his Banks. KT needs his.
We also need a couple of Leonard Marshalls/Keith Hamilton (Hammer circa his 304 days not his 4-3 ones). Great to see McFadden step up like he has.

Dex is a game changer. Truly amazing player. There's no better NT if Pro Football. They've just gotta keep him healthy.
Wink should keep his job if he can show he can slow down Philly or Dallas. Beating up on the Sam Howell's and Zach Wilson's of the world aint cutting it.

How about Josh Allen, or do we just dismiss that game?

Hammer didn't play much in the 3-4; he was a backup in his rookie year '92, a starter in 93 at LDE, then the Giants switched to a 4-3 the next year.
It's very difficult to find 3-4 defensive ends in the 290+ range who can play head-up or outside an offensive tackle who can both play the run and rush the passer. The Giants tried that with Dexter Lawrence and he didn't thrive until he was placed at a DT spot instead of a DE spot.

And Winks defense played pretty well against Dallas last year. I’m just not for firing the guy on the defensive side of the ball when the offense hasn’t been able to cross the 50 most drives.

I'm coming around a bit. I've acknowledged the excellent games that he's had. But in between he's had games where he's invisible. I'd like to see him come up big against the better teams. Maybe by next year I'll be a fan :)
Right now, Thibs can't carry their jockstraps. But I do like his trajectory.
I bought a JPP autographed Helmet during 2011, so I'm a fan, and that single year could have been a DPOY season that few players will touch, but if thibs is consistent, he's easily going to pass JPP as a pass rusher. High hopes but high talent. And he's merely a child still.
7 sacks
What an ass.
He’d be at 7 sacks
Oh so now let's manufacture ways to criticize a star young player? He has 3.5 sacks against Washington this season and 7 against the rest of the NFL.
Why are you even a fan?
He was trying to break up the pass, what exactly would you like him to do?
I agree. I just want a little more consistency. He sometimes no shows in games.
I agree, there's a bit more to come imho. Unlike Neal, Thibs is turning out to be the real deal. He just needed to adapt to the level of the pro game.

Don't give up on Neal, yet. Let them get a new line coach and see if it helps - or move him to RG.

feel like you said the same think about Dexter. Let these guys develop before evaluating

Go root for the Cowboys
KAYVON THIBODEAUX 10.5 sacks.
6 games left and he is still learning the position.

Thibodeaux is evolving into the top edge defender NYG has had since Strahan / Osi.
