All depends on McCarthys health. He needs to be mobile and make plays outside the tackles cause Michigans tackles are awful. But if he is playing with an MCL injury - he will be greatly compromised.
Can’t wait to see Will Johnson vs. Harrison. Johnson is a true Sophomore who will probably be a corner to look at next year and well and Harrison is just so damn good.
The more QB's that flood the first round of the draft, the better it is for the Giants if they have a guy they want, want to trade down or trade up into the back end of round 1.

McCarthy needs to make better decisions than he did against Maryland.
I expect the game will come down to who wins the line of scrimmage. The two sophomore DTs for Michigan - Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant - are beasts. Either of Keegan & Zinter - the OGs for Michigan - would look good on the Giants.
Will Johnson did not have a great game against Maryland - he needs to play better today too.
I can’t stand Michigan but they’ve got awesome, classic uniforms. Why do they feel the need to screw that up with blue pants? The Navy tops and yellow pants really pop on the television and and that’s what I want to see when I’m watching OSU/Michigan, as a neutral fan. Can’t stand the dark unis being the same top and bottom.

Ryan Day isn’t exactly Miss Congeniality. Both coaches are equally unlikeable but the Michigan fans are much more humane than those in Columbus.

The more of these premium receivers in the draft the better. Better chance one of them makes it to round 2. I wouldn't be opposed to a trade up, however, if an uber-talent falls to the 20s, such as Malik Nabers.

I'm with you. I don't see his body type much different from C.J. Stroud, either, and Stroud has been phenomenal and has played every game.

Never been a huge fan, just saw he's 1-6 vs. top 5 teams. I think they've fallen off a tad from the Urban days. The big question is, who would replace him? Fickell just took the Wisconsin job. Would he still leave?

I think Oregon can beat anyone in the country, including Georgia. Very good on both sides of the ball. Cristobal started to toughen that program up and Lanning has brought it to the next level.

You are going to be very surprised Re what scouts and teams think of Daniels arm talent compared to Williams leading up to the draft. Daniels has a cannon and his release is the best I have seen in awhile. Word is getting out on Daniels arm and more specifically his lightning release. Even Sy has indicated there is a lot more to Daniels that will come out leading to the draft as his arrow is pointed north in a big way.

I don’t know, I’m a Michigan fan, and I’m not certain they win last year or this year without McCarthy. I get that Michigan usually leans heavy on their running game, but for most of the game, the running game wasn’t working, and Ohio state had their running game going. Not only that, but OSU’s front 4 was getting major pressure on McCarthy, and he not only kept them in the game but kept them ahead the entire time. I mean, what more can you ask for against a top tier college football defense.

They had 1 timeout left. And that pass play was a perfect play call, 44 on OSU just made an incredible play. There's probably 2-3 players in all of CFB that make the play he did. If he doesn't make it that play is going for at worst a 20 yard gain and the games over and likely a touchdown and the games over. I was sitting on that sideline and the play was right in front of me. The result wasn't ideal, but I loved the call.

Oh it was 100% inexcusable. But the ball was at the one yard line at that point. Personally, i felt like the game was lost when they gave up the 3rd & 19. Freeman said after they played SC that they stayed aggressive against Caleb Williams… “no three man rush stuff” (paraphrasing).
Remember Sam Hartman’s 4th & 16 run against Duke? Three man rush after Duke killed the Irish all drive with blitzes.

If he doesn't make it that play is going for at worst a 20 yard gain and the games over and likely a touchdown and the games over. I was sitting on that sideline and the play was right in front of me. The result wasn't ideal, but I loved the call.

I remember making the point that Lamar Jackson has more college production passing and rushing than Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley combined. Daniels has a similar resume. Watching him outrun angles against SEC defenders AND being an incredibly productive passer...at this point I think he's the #1 pick overall. Or at least should be.

Consensus #1? I've seen many people in the last couple months talk about Maye being rated higher and now seeing people say the same about Daniels. I love all 3 as prospects personally. But Williams is not a consensus #1. He may have been thought of that way last may, but he isn't now. Daniels is going to kill it at the combine and put himself in the #1 pick discussion. Consensus No. 1 by whom? Draft pundits? Neither you nor I know what NFL scouts think of Williams and Daniels, or the other QBs. Williams is the 'consensus number one' because he won the Heisman last year. You use words like potential and reminiscent. How many times have we heard 'he's the next LT'?
Daniels has had one game below 63 percent completions - and that was 59.5 in the first game of the year against a good FSU team. Williams has had 4 games below 63, including 56, 56 and 57.

If you want to say Williams has Mahomes like traits, well Daniels is a taller, faster, more accurate Lamar Jackson who might actually get through progressions better than Lamar.

Not really. Oregon is playing well. Washington has needed miracles against teams that aren’t particularly good. And Georgia squeaked out a win vs Georgia Tech. Down here UM, UF and FSU playing each other is death sport. (Probably like most rivalry games.) If UF was 2-8 and beat FSU it would be virtually a successful season.

Wahington is PAC-12 and that itself is questionable.
You could probably throw in OSU, Texas and Alabama(who got lucky yesterday). Georgia and Michigan are probably the best two teams, period. With Travis, FSU is very dangerous and likely #3. The more of these premium receivers in the draft the better. Better chance one of them makes it to round 2. I wouldn't be opposed to a trade up, however, if an uber-talent falls to the 20s, such as Malik Nabers.

Daniel took some hits during this game, and for some reason slipped out of some of them.
My guess behind the reason is he was probably trying not to be tackled.
It kind of reminds me when the Giants tried to hit Randall Cunningham in the red zone, and for some reason he got hit and stayed on his feet, then making the play for a touchdown.

You are going to be very surprised Re what scouts and teams think of Daniels arm talent compared to Williams leading up to the draft. Daniels has a cannon and his release is the best I have seen in awhile. Word is getting out on Daniels arm and more specifically his lightning release. Even Sy has indicated there is a lot more to Daniels that will come out leading to the draft as his arrow is pointed north in a big way.
I guess the only possible explanation is the refs were confused by the motion and took it as the offsides cause the oline to move. Terrible call.

I don’t know, I’m a Michigan fan, and I’m not certain they win last year or this year without McCarthy. I get that Michigan usually leans heavy on their running game, but for most of the game, the running game wasn’t working, and Ohio state had their running game going. Not only that, but OSU’s front 4 was getting major pressure on McCarthy, and he not only kept them in the game but kept them ahead the entire time. I mean, what more can you ask for against a top tier college football defense.

If he doesn't make it that play is going for at worst a 20 yard gain and the games over and likely a touchdown and the games over. I was sitting on that sideline and the play was right in front of me. The result wasn't ideal, but I loved the call.

Oh it was 100% inexcusable. But the ball was at the one yard line at that point. Personally, i felt like the game was lost when they gave up the 3rd & 19. Freeman said after they played SC that they stayed aggressive against Caleb Williams… “no three man rush stuff” (paraphrasing).
Remember Sam Hartman’s 4th & 16 run against Duke? Three man rush after Duke killed the Irish all drive with blitzes.

I remember making the point that Lamar Jackson has more college production passing and rushing than Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley combined. Daniels has a similar resume. Watching him outrun angles against SEC defenders AND being an incredibly productive passer...at this point I think he's the #1 pick overall. Or at least should be.

Daniels doesn't have a better arm than Williams. That's absurd. Williams has established he can throw with incredible accuracy and power on the run, from different arm angles, into tight windows. Williams has the best overall arm talent in the class.

If the Giants are going to consider him as their pick, they’re going to have to get into his head to see if he can handle the New York media. As of now, I’m not convinced he can take the heat.

Consensus #1? I've seen many people in the last couple months talk about Maye being rated higher and now seeing people say the same about Daniels. I love all 3 as prospects personally. But Williams is not a consensus #1. He may have been thought of that way last may, but he isn't now. Daniels is going to kill it at the combine and put himself in the #1 pick discussion. Consensus No. 1 by whom? Draft pundits? Neither you nor I know what NFL scouts think of Williams and Daniels, or the other QBs. Williams is the 'consensus number one' because he won the Heisman last year. You use words like potential and reminiscent. How many times have we heard 'he's the next LT'?
Daniels has had one game below 63 percent completions - and that was 59.5 in the first game of the year against a good FSU team. Williams has had 4 games below 63, including 56, 56 and 57.
And then there is the fact one has run for more than 1100 yards and the other for 140.
If you want to say Williams has Mahomes like traits, well Daniels is a taller, faster, more accurate Lamar Jackson who might actually get through progressions better than Lamar.
But this is all talk. Just like with election polls there is only one draft guide that matters - the one that gets written on April 25th.

The same Stanford team you watched yesterday had the ball down two late in the fourth quarter against the Huskies. They needed a game ending FG against the Cougs. To be fair, FSU didn’t look remotely close to a top 4 team yesterday. Sure they squeaked out a win against a bad Florida team but it certainly wasn’t pretty. They should still be ranked 4 based on being undefeated and I fully expect them to be. But losing their QB has really hurt their chances to win a game in the playoffs. Without Travis, I’m not sure anyone outside of FSU fans have much of an appetite to watch them get curbstomped by Georgia in the playoffs. I was really rooting for them to get in when Travis was playing but, they stood a punchers chance, imo. Not so much now

And Georgia squeaked out a win vs Georgia Tech. Down here UM, UF and FSU playing each other is death sport. (Probably like most rivalry games.) If UF was 2-8 and beat FSU it would be virtually a successful season.

Wahington is PAC-12 and that itself is questionable.
You could probably throw in OSU, Texas and Alabama(who got lucky yesterday). Georgia and Michigan are probably the best two teams, period. With Travis, FSU is very dangerous and likely #3. I can semi understand FSU as less attractive and perhaps Louisville gives then a bad time. Let's see if Norvelle lets Rodemaker make some plays next week.
Like the NFL, the NCAA wants lots of offense, so I can see them looking to bypass FSU based on offensive expectations. When you look at it from the commercial POV, I can see it.
