NYG have moved into 3rd place in the NFC East.
NYG cannot be eliminated next week.
Percentages of making playoffs from NYTimes Simulator:
-----------------------------------------------------
NYG Lose to:
Nobody 89
only PHI: 43
only NO: 33
only LAR: 26
only GB: 19
Lose twice: less than 2
Probably these teams are looking for 2nd and 3rd wild card spots:
SEA 6-5 beat NYG
MIN 6-6 will have same or worse conf record than NYG
GB 5-6 result vs NYG TBD
(ATL 5-6 is division leader)
NO 5-6
LAR 5-6
SEA plays DAL Thursday night.
But A daydream is cheap entertainment
rooting for the cowboys on thursday night vs Seattle which would put the 6 seed at six losses.
DAL over SEA
DET over NO
NYJ over ATL
im actually rooting for the commanders over MIA. we cant have WAS get a franchise QB or a big draft haul.
CAR over TB - they will get the new head coach bump.
CLE over LAR
KC over GB
i think all should be heavy favorites expect CAR, WAS, NYJ.
that would put both 6/7 seeds at 6 losses and everyone else at 7-8 losses.
the 6/7 seeds will play on the road in week 14 with SEA at SF and MIN at the feisty Raiders.
The giants could enter monday night football in week 14 one game out of the playoffs. wow.
I mean only losing 1 game, and that game is lost to PHI.

I know you’re being somewhat facetious here, with good reasoning
But games are meaningful until they are not. Of course a game being mathematically meaningful is in no way related to the teams ability to take advantage of any opportunity presented to them with meaningful games.
But if Giants win against Green Bay…….you ll begin seeing them listed as “In the hunt” on the pregame shows.
Thanks for catching that - don't know why I wrote "worse" when I saw the same thing (that MIN is winless in the AFC with 1 game to go).
Agreed, and it kind of speaks to the whole "let the games play out" philosophy of looking at a schedule before the season and projecting performance. We all thought that Jones would likely need to raise his game to top-ten level for the Giants to be competitive given their schedule, yet all they would've needed is league average QB play among the 3 QBs to be sitting pretty at this point.
I totally see the team being 6-8 going into the Eagles game and having whatever remaining hope crushed. As much as the Eagles look vulnerable, their offense is custom-made the grind the Giants D to dust. Then I see the Rams likely winning as well if they start Stafford; McVeigh has a grudge against the Giants so he will pull out all the stops.
Getting embarrassed in the playoffs again and picking in the mid 20’s is the worst thing that can happen to a team that desperately needs a talent infusion

What is McVay’s grudge against the Giants? Is it because his grandfather was HC for the Giants in “the fumble” game? Is it because the 49ers didn’t win every Super Bowl in the 80s and 90s when his grandfather was GM? Is that why McVay changed his last name to McVeigh?
Thomas, if it s ok with you I ll watch the game with a few of our 11 grandkids, 11 year olds, and pretend the games still matter.
They haven’t quite reached the state of jadedness you seem to be at.
Jeez, some of you guys are really miserable when it comes to discussing this team
Drop one to Philly then a "Win And In" game at home against them again on the final game of the regular season.
2002 was one of my favorite seasons ever for that one Week 17 game alone.
One can dream...
Maybe I'll throw $10 on it.
