Will never forget his game ending punt return where right in front of us, he ran along the goal ine before stepping over. Totally taunting the Giants fans. Many would have jumped out of the stands to kick his ass if they could. Matt Dodge was forever villanized as well for not kicking it OOB.
But that loss was every bit as much on Kenny Phillips as him. He screwed up bad on the long TD to Celek that started the Eagles comeback. Without that quick strike score, the Eagles would have likely run out of time.

It was Coughlin's fault. He lost us that game single-handedly.

If I remember correctly Manningham also had a costly fumble on our own side of the field. Everything that could have gone wrong went wrong.
I do give him credit for being nothing short of a historic big play WR though. We've had complete PbP data since '97, in those 25 years it's basically Randy Moss and DeSean Jackson ahead of the rest in terms of monster field flipping plays and TDs. That being said, fuck him.

IIRC he was trying to run the clock out entirely before scoring.
A very fair thing to do, IMO. Back then you still had to kick the XP, but now the game would end sudden death.
Now what he did after that is fair game to criticize.

If you're going to blame him, you gotta blame the special teams for immediately letting an onside kick be recovered right after that school.
When a guy no team wants announces his 'retirement.' In 2022 he mentioned 9 different teams he would want to sign with. All playoff contenders. The Ravens were the last one he listed, almost as an afterthought. They finally took a shot. He started one game, played in 7 and had a whopping 9 catches.
He hasn't had more than 20 catches since 2018 and average 12.5 catches over his last four seasons.
That guy could have his leg amputated walk out on the field and still have 6 catches for 80 yards and a TD on even the most basic routes.
Can't believe he's not gonna hang around and beat the Giants some more.

I respected Witten. He was a tough and quiet warrior. Jackson was just a douchebag.

The only player in recent history that I despise more than Desean is Jason Witten.

100%
Witten killed the Giants for years and hated him bc of the Cowboys, but have to admit he’s also one of my favorite non-Giants players of all time
Desean can go fuck himself
Good riddance you showboating sack of monkey nuts.

But less asshole.

Pretty much was a total team F-up.
Never would I have imagined that ending.
Worst game I ever attended.

The decision to 'retire' wasn't his.

COLD, man!
