In light of their recent Big Board Update of 218 draft prospects, our friends at GBN have decided to generate a 3-Round, Pre-combine Mock Draft. And as always, please note GBN's caution that,
"...we have no idea, at least maybe past the first half dozen or so picks, which particular teams will take which individual players; however, what we are hoping to do is give some idea, based on the latest information, what players are likely to be available at different phases of the draft."
I think most BBIers will like this Mock since it gives the Giants a shiny new QB and a shiny new WR, just maybe not in the order you would prefer. They also mock an interior lineman to the Giants which is a desperate need. How desperate? According to the February 23rd edition of The Athletic, below is a ranking of the Giants positional needs ahead of Free Agency and the Draft:
(1) Offensive Line
(2) Wide Receiver
(3) OLB / EDGE
(4) Cornerback
(5) Quarterback
About #5, this is what The Athletic said:
"This could easily be No. 1 on the list depending on how you view Daniel Jones. If you think the Giants need to find a new face of the franchise, then QB is easily the team’s top priority... If you think the Giants should give Jones more time to prove he can be the guy, then the position falls farther down the list."

They probably used the same simulation 🤣
6: J.J. McCarthy. Too high for me, but he's a QB, and they always get overdrafted. And taking him here is certainly a lot better than trading up. It's also a lot better than taking Penix. Why replace one injury-riddled QB (Jones) with another (Penix)? Crazy.
37: Xavier Leggette.
47: Christian Jones.
70: Ruke Orhorhoro. I think he's definitely a day two pick.
And it isn't because the draft sucks. These are legit players. We are fortunate to be picking high in this draft.
That is the question.
That is the question.
Do you think Joe will pass on a really good QB because of the current state of the OL? I sure hope not.
That is the question.
Andrew Thomas started at RT as a freshman at UGA, soooooo
WR, QB, Edge all addressed with picks 1, 2 and 2a. Come back to fill a huge need at interior OL in round 3.
Penix is a serious enough prospect to at least compete with Jones and give us something hopeful to look to in that QB room.
This draft would work in my opinion.
Yea, pretty sure it's 39.
There’s a reason why Jones has not proven to be the guy.
Get a potential future QB
Get a G who can start tomorrow
Give me Nabers and a CB if the board falls that way.
Some draftniks prefer the taller WR.
Dallas Turner works too! Several Big Boards, including GBN Draft Report and Tankathon, have him ranked a bit higher than Jared Verse.

We really should trade Neal and snatch one of these OLs. It's okay to declare him a miss and move on. Because it's such a good crop of OL prospects...
As for the results of this mock, I like Nabers. But there is such an abundance of WRs that a trade out would make more sense to me if we can't grab any of the big three QBs...
If you have a conviction on a QB and want him, DRAFT HIM AT 6.
Then continue to build the roster (WR, etc) in rd 2.
If the slam dunk QB is lefty - Lawrence, Burrow, whoever you might want to include - I agree. But I am not basing my future development target to be lefty when I know I need to replace Jones.

why do you have the Chargers taking Odenze over Nabers? I'd be very happy, but that seems unlikely.

I know, I was just reacting to the OP's first sentence saying "In light of their recent Big Board Update of 218 draft prospects, our friends at GBN have decided to generate a 3-Round...". If they have Nabers ranked ahead of Oduze, then why have the Chargers take Oduze?
2 Penix just does not inspire me.
3 I’m more than happy with that pick.
