He’s arguably the best receiver in the league. The only way you could justify trading him is if he’s like a head case or something and it hasn’t been visible to the public yet.

And who’s throwing him the football after you pay him a ton? Makes sense to rebuild. That team is garbage. Trade him for assets and rebuild

With Jefferson, Addison, and Hockenson I could probably be successful as their QB.

Then we should trade them DJ!
The Vikings are a major reason DJ got that damn contract. It’s only right that they pay for some of it
would be something. The Chiefs bet it on Kelce while they fixed other problems and it work but he's 34 now, Rice had a really nice rookie year but Jefferson would be something else.

Yes. Clearly, he had to have impressed the Vikings from that game, right? I mean there are a lot of people on here that still talk about that game almost every week like it was the ideal QB performance.
In assets and money. Great player but you gotta be an on the cusp team to even consider it.
Great spot for him would be KC imo
The Chiefs have to figure out how to pay Jones and Sneed first. They also have several other key players hitting free agency that they need to figure out. I have a hard time believing they’d also pay Jefferson to be the highest paid receiver in football. It’s not their style. If it was, Tyreek Hill would still be in KC
i think the cost would be 2 firsts + makin him new highest paid nonQB
he was traded for 2 firsts and a fourth in the middle of his 4th year, got a 5 year 105m contract extension before the 2020 season that reset CB market ahead of his 5th year. there was a little more animosity with him and jags but at the time he got traded the rams got an extra half season cheap before needing to pay the $ freight.
Harrison Jr., though there's the caveat he could be a bust while JJ is a proven commodity. That said, of all the players in this draft, I'd put $ on Harrison Jr. wearing a gold jacket one day like his old man.
Cousins leaving, it makes some sense. As someone said, paying him a ton with a journeyman QB or rookie at QB throwing him the ball is a risk. They also still have Addison and Hockenson.
I do wonder if he could be used as part of a package to move up for a QB. Remember that the Titans traded A.J. Brown to the Eagles. The Giants also traded OBJ to the Browns.
Harrison Jr., though there's the caveat he could be a bust while JJ is a proven commodity. That said, of all the players in this draft, I'd put $ on Harrison Jr. wearing a gold jacket one day like his old man.
I get the MHJ idea and the rookie contract. But Zona has the 8th most cap space, so they could make it work. And Murray would be throwing to a WR who is already an All-Pro talent.
is not a lot of teams will be willing to barter a draft pick early. You have three elite WR prospects and a good TE prospect in top 10. It’s also becoming heavy on WRs every year out of draft. Bears have multiple picks but no way Vikes deal in division. Chargers? I don’t know, Harbaugh like a different style and they have cap messes on defense too and OL needs to sort out.
Most likely teams willing to plop huge contract and picks are contend now, playmaker needy teams later in the first. Keep in mind Jefferson has some buy in given any team that acquired will want some contract/control.

. Murray had Larry Fitz and Hopkins. Both HOFers. So now that he's proven to be a shit Qb you go out and trade assets for a non coast controlled guy when you can have Marvin Harrison Jr? Moronic

Right now, JJ is still 24, has already been an 3x all-pro, and is charting a course to Canton.
When MHJ does anything remotely close to JJ, let me know. Right now, he's still a prospect.
If you want to argue the merits of Murray, that's a different topic.

. U can then make the argument for the Giants to get JJ for your favorite player ever DJ. or Baker etc. or any other QB. Are then Cards a JJ away from winning the NFC West. There are zero question how good JJ is. But Murray already has had two HOFers and couldn't win and utilize them to the fullest. Why trade assets and cap space? What has changed w Murray?
You are literally the only person on the planet that probably too is that's rational in any way
RE: Any team could make any player available via trade
they'd be stupid not to get involved in the conversation. People suggesting that he's a finishing piece are acting like this is the NBA. This is a passing league and every team needs a bonafide #1 option. Without it, you can't succeed.
RE: RE: RE: Any team could make any player available via trade
So what would the trade value be for Mahomes? 7 first rounders plus 2-3 young potential stars?
Chiefs would laugh at you if you offered this. Not close to enough.
This only exists in the very modern NFL, where a better QB can beat a better team in the postseason more often than he should.
It kills me Mahomes as seen as worth a thousand first rounders when Montana was let go for a song, Peyton and Brady left to go without compensation in FA......and yes, Mahomes is in his prime, but those other 3 QBs did a lot of damage in their second stops, the latter two won SBs and Montana nearly got KC to a Super Bowl (and beat the SB champ that year in his revenge game).
What would Joe Burrow or Josh Allen fetch? They oughta be same comp as Mahomes.
And who’s throwing him the football after you pay him a ton? Makes sense to rebuild. That team is garbage. Trade him for assets and rebuild
So, if Minnesota wants to go younger with QB, and sees this draft as a bumper crop for WRs, you could make a strong case to move JJ.
I will!

That seems like the kind of Madden move Arizona would make.

he may very well be the best non-QB in football but that is going to be some pricetag.
MHJ? Or giving up the 4th pick for JJ and other draft capital?
