One suggestion I have is a monthly thread for the minors. We'd have 6 for the season starting from April until September/early October. Any suggestions? I think it's nice to have a place where things are consolidated. DMM, GF, and Eric provide great info to go along with many others. We could refer to their stuff more easily that way. Just a thought. What do you folks think?

Enjoy tonight's game 😊
I know this was always going to be a season to show some patience, but they haven't even been competitive.
Baty is still a minus defender, and for now we can live with that. Eventually, though, he'll have to improve or he'll be gone. At least he's hitting a little bit.
I guess Wendle should improve the infield defense, which will make the pitching look better, but if McNeil's not gonna hit and the alternative is Wendle, then we're just marking time until Luisangel Acuňa arrives, or eventually Jett Williams. Not that they're sure things, but if we're going to have to watch crummy players, we might as well watch crummy players who are young and have upside, not veterans who have no excuse.
Best consolation: The guy who built the Brewers is now building the Mets.

Monthly thread works for me if good with Dan and others.
Manaea looking very good so far tonight. Let's get some hits here.
Very heavy this year!
Oh yeah, lol. We need to keep track of your gems and nuggets (Aam Scheinism, lol) DMM!

Works for you guys. I feel like this season will have a heavy minor league focus lol

Uninspiring, unimaginative, same old boring ineffective crap we’ve seen for decades. And in a year they admittedly won’t be competitive? Why the fuck not?
If this is the ingenuity we can expect from Stearns, then I’m not too hopeful. This team can decide on a lane to operate in.
LOL fuck this team
Mets have had 'renewed talks' with pitcher Julio Teheran: Teheran opted out of his contract with Baltimore prior to Opening Day - 4/1/2024, 2:29 PM - SNY.tv
Just brutal to watch outside of Alvarez and maybe Baty.
He's not off to a good start. Neither is Nimmo, Lindor, or Alonso.

Oh please. He absolutely is. His range is terrible. And he has no power.
stearns will get one mulligan year, the pressure will be enourmous in 2025.

And he isn't a singles hitter either.

Are you talking about the right guy?? Career 120 OPS, robbed of first utility man gold glove?? Plays above average defense no matter what position you stick him.
Wendle, Short, Taylor, Stewart are the guys who shouldn't be on this team... McNeil just isn't playing well
Terrible take.

When you have to pull the “super utility” defense card, you have an underwhelming player on your hands.
lol. I've just about had it with those scrubs.
can someone please pull the plug on the dj stewart experience? there is no conceivable reason to be giving him at bats. he got his first batted balls of the season today and none of them exceeded 85 mph exit velo. JDM standing in the batting box watching pitches in preparation of swinging 10 days from now may be a more productive use of playing time.
It's a good start for the new regime.
Tank Day #2
Mcneil
Nimmo
These two must be terrible winning culture and sustainable success players bc they have been part of every one of these teams leadership and have either choked or SUCKED.
To a few years lesser extent
Lindor
If they could package his contract w Alonso or McNeil for more future that would be great
Marte playing himself into a nice trade deadline deal for Mets too.
Prep for the next core and I hope to god they are more focused on winning and being team leaders than these whiny and/or diva HR derby players
This is worse than the Bonilla 90’s teams. At least they hit and pitched when not hurt

8) Shota Imanaga had a very memorable MLB debut as he shut out Colorado over 6.0 IP.
His 4-Seam had a lot of ride and his splitter put in work against RHH, returning a wonderful 52.6 Chase% and 80.0 Whiff%.

9) Sean Manaea had a nice bump in his grades despite decreased velocity. He added a lot more arm-side movement to his fastball, which now has 18.1” HB. He also added about 0.5 ft of extension and looked great yesterday, in 6.0 IP shutout

Should we start a monthly minor league thread today? Is it agreed upon that that's the direction we're going in?
Sure let's do it for April and see if we like it!
Dan started it. What we can do for each monthly thread is link to the previous ones as the season goes along. It works better monthly too because people are more likely to find it. A 6-month long thread would be some kind of record, lol (and hardly anyone but the lunatic diehards like us would be bothered).
