If we start with the premise that players generally improve until age 26-27, as they hit their prime around there, there's reason to be hopeful
Using BBI's roster page which has ages at the end of 2024, the following players will be 27 or younger this season
Obviously, different positions and players peak and age differently but...

this is in part why i've been commenting most of this offseason that regardless of QB decisions, this is a big year for the new regime. the roster is mostly homegrown by them, and most of it has been built from higher end resources. day 1/2 draft picks, well paid FAs, trades, etc.
The current roster reflects that. Most of our departures came from prior regime. Going into year 3, it's their team now and the youth reflects that. If they're good (I think they are) and choose correctly, the roster hits its prime together.

There's still only a year and a half difference between NYG and the oldest team, N.O.

how young the nyg roster has been in 2022 and 2023. this one was from bill barnwell in january (and today it's probably even younger minus the snaps played by tyrod, waller, glowinski, pugh, etc):

Feeling a bit pessimistic today Bill
First of all, the drafts of the last 10 years mean nothing.
The drafts of the last 2-3 years matter
Secondly, as the roster page and chart Eric posted show, the guys who will actually be taking snaps for the Giants are almost all ascending players.

when the average career is 3 years, 1-2 years of age is not an insignificant difference even if it seems small. a snaps weighted average is factoring 22 positions, plus probably another dozen subs who play a lot of snaps, so the spread of ages isn't going to be vast from any team when so many players have short careers. the skews up on teams like NO comes from a handful of veterans in the 30+ range dragging the average up.
this year's depth chart is mostly players on rookie contracts and i believe the only veteran starter older than 27 is elumeanor (29).
And the last ten years matter for a roster that has been almost completely rebuilt over the last three years. How does that work. Is the ghost of Eli Apple haunting the locker room.
It'a an excellent point. Most of the Giant players are almost assured to be better this season. Don't know where they'd rank, but it's got to be high. So patched holes and healed injuries aside, improvement is more well-based expectation than hope. Which is nice.
It is also overrated by optimists though. Youth doesn’t guarantee improvement either. The previous draft picks can plateau or get injured and the new class can start slow. If that happens this is a bottom tier roster. All it means is that the Giants have a wide range in terms of the talent on the roster, it’s asymmetrically higher because of where we’re starting though. If the bull cases hit then the giants have one of the best young wr groups and pass rushes in football with an OL clearing the very low bar of being functional. That sets the table. It’s a big year, don’t understand the lack of interest given the stakes.
Runyan is young and said he's learned a lot already about problems with his technique and thinks he'll be a better player.
Singletary too is likely who he is, but I expect his production will be higher here.
Simmons I disagree the most with a big caveat. If Bowen figures out how to tap his freakishness, he could be a game wrecker. Or at least much more impactful. If Bowen and co can't figure it out, then yeah - nothing to see there.

I'd be thrilled for Simmons to finally shine. I live in AZ and have watched him since he was drafted. He went through position changes and never found a spot where he was good. And last year Wink was the guy who was supposed to turn him from coal to diamond. At this point, I just think he's a great athlete who isn't much of a football player. But go, Bowen. Zevon Collins is going the same route now.
You're judging the current draftees by what happened 10 years ago? Alighty then, lol.

Bad players, poor picks, poorly coached players do not generally improve, or at least enough to make them good players. This team's drafts over the past 10 years speak pretty well to that.

Yeah, 10 years ago and 9 years ago and 2 years ago. How many guys have gotten 2nd contracts here? A team has an identity, and our current identity is lousy drafting, until proven otherwise, which hasn't happened yet, imo.
