The problem is partially our catchers are not great at catching runners. Good framing catchers and calling games, but they struggle throwing guys out. So if you bounce it (like Trevino just did) the run scores anyway. Stroman had him 0-2, finish the fucking guy

Well, yeah. The catcher position has sucked ass for us this year. Would've been nice to have a decent one this season. But Wells can't hit for shit thus far.

can't expect Judge to be super human all season. Soto is great, but he alone isn't enough with Judge.

Let's see how this team handles the next two weeks. But it wouldn't be a bad idea to address some of the known flaws of this team. You can't be complacent because of the start.

fucking slider all weekend was more annoying to me than giving up hits to scrubs. The bullpen did embarrass themselves though on Saturday and Sunday.

Trevino has an issue throwing all season.

The Sox embarrassed them - the contrast of young, energetic and fast versus old and slow was stark. Torres, Trevino, DJM, and Rizzo are not just struggling hitting but liabilities on the bases. With Rizzo hurt again they're forced to address the 1B problem immediately. And Rizzo's been so bad, whatever we do is likely to be an improvement.

When Rizzo's back, they can't continue letting him and DJM try and find the fountain of youth while being black holes in the lineup, and in Rizzo's case in the field. Hopefully this brings that to a head.

I feel bad for Rizzo. He hasn't been the same since the concussion and now this. Also thought the Pitcher threw a little hip check there. Didn't seem too anxious to avoid contact.

GLeyber is just a dumb player. But they're stuck with him for now because DJ is cooked, Peraza is hurt and Cabrera can't hit consistently enough. And he may have to play 3rd anyway.

As for the bullpen, the numbers show they’re a bottom third of the sport group. Their K% is too low. Their BB% is too high. They’re basically skating by on BABIP luck and a HR rate that’s likely unsustainable. They need to find 2-3 swing and miss guys somewhere.

It is a long season. You get hot, you get cold.

We do know the pen is subpar. Rizzo is basically cooked. DJLM may be cooked, but this is extended ST for him. Torres is Torres and still is trying to pull everything for a homerun. Funny that when it appeared he was coming around he was going to right. The minute he gets going he goes back to pull happy.
If I was a team, I would never throw a FB to Stanton again - just sliders low and away. In fact I would do the same to Judge.

Long season. See what happens after the All Star break, roster wise.

I gotta say the Yankees have a heck of a team and I'm sad to say they gotta be the favorites to win it all this year. Sure, every team has weaknesses, but that starting rotation is good even without Cole and they have less of a HR-or-strikeout approach now than they have in the past. Cole will come back and they'll undoubtedly get some help at the trade deadline, but I'd suggest you guys appreciate what you got and don't let a disappointing series turn you sour. Everyone fears the Yankees....
