That's a little strong. They have potential. We have to learn that things are earned. We have to go prove it. It is like all the fans that get butthurt when the Giants are ranked low on any list, are high on betting odds to have a coach get fired or have a low win total, etc. It is simple, we suck until we don't. It is the same with the pro bowl and all pros. Winning teams get more players. Losing teams don't.
Okereke is outstanding. KT flashes some ability, but needs to impact a game much more (and his advanced metrics aren't promising). Burns is very talented but needs to now play to the level of his contract (elite). McFadden improved alongside BO and should get better. Far too early to use "outstanding".
Most would agree 3/4, McFadden being the question mark. However, I remember many people here singing his praises last season with not much to root for. Including Sy.
Maybe OP is right. All it would take is Micah’s continued development. He was very instinctual last year.
but certainly the best in a long time. The position has been a blackhole for so long it just feels outstanding. Thinking back just recently there was the Ogletree disaster, Casillas, Sheppard, Munson, Goodson, Mayo, Crowder... all forgettable. Blake Martinez's first year was the only ray of hope, and that was brief.
And Pepper Johnson. And Andy Headen. And Byron Hunt. It was not only a great starting foursome, but these three backups would have been starters on almost any other team in the NFL.
Pro-Bowl level. McFadden at this point is pretty average, I hope he can move to another level. If you count our edges as LB.s then yeah, it's a pretty good group. But if you do that, then our DE's really suck
All I could think of when I read this thread title...
"Isn't it true that Darwin preserved a piece of vermicelli in a glass case until, by some extraordinary means, it actually began to move with voluntary motion?"
but we'll see later in the year. Hard to compete with this group:
58 Carl Banks OLB.
53 Harry Carson ILB.
54 Andy Headen OLB.
57 Byron Hunt OLB.
52 Pepper Johnson ILB.
51 Robbie Jones ILB.
55 Gary Reasons ILB.
56 Lawrence Taylor OLB.
Agreed. Now get over the hump on gamedays and become consistent in impact.
The unit has come a long way.
The unit has come a long way.
People really need to stop considering Simmons an LB. He is an in the box safety at best, but he's even not very physical for a safety.
LOL

And Reasons.
