likes Jones so much that he fully endorsed Schoen's attempt to trade a ton of draft capital to move up for Maye, and would have supported a similar effort to get Daniels if that was possible.

I'm glad you brought this up.
I think Daboll only said that about Daniels. Kafka said it about Maye...

The clock is now on Dak Prescott and the Cowboys. Prescott was in a position to wait on Jordan Love and Tua Tagovailoa deals to finalize, then bat cleanup with the last QB deal of the cycle.
RE: Jerry Jones must be banging his head against the wall
We kicked their ass. He was 25-39 1 TD 1 int. 24-22. If DJ did that with only 2 carries 1/2 of BBI would be calling for his head. Granted he got better. But agree it was less than 1/2 of a season.
I'm starting to wonder if Schoen actually deserves credit for the Jones deal.
they certainly didnt watch any of him in the first half of the year. he played well down the stretch but i am shocked they had to pay this much for him off 1 good half season. i wouldnt be all that comfortable paying tua but i get it, he's at least had 3 good years. id have gone 1 more year with love even if the price went up as a result.
And posters on here a whining about $40 million a year for Jones? Give me a break. Jones's contract is more than fair, for both sides.
No, it isn't.
Yes it is. We will finally see the return of Danny Dimes this season. I firmly believe that. I don't care what the doubters say. In Daboll I trust.
Please stop. “Return” of what? A mediocre scrambling QB who had success against weak defenses two years ago and got completely exposed by competent teams? I hope he plays well and the Giants win this year, but let’s not act like he has ever had a season this warranted a “return” to greatness.
And I think sometimes the other players resent it.
Love definitely should've been franchised, or at least made to do it again before getting paid.
Tua's contract is just as crazy. Scary injuries aside, I don't know if he's that good. I'm no fan of Jones by any means, but I think even Jones would produce in Miami.
another good year and cost you even more if you don't pay him now. It's that simple.
In 2008, Packers gave Aaron Rodgers what was then a top 5 QB deal after only seven starts.
This is where I’m at too. I wouldn’t have done it because I don’t see him every day like they do, which is such an easy thing to gloss over as a fan. But he’s there guy and now you lock him in and don’t have to worry about this dragging, and can instead focused on how else to improve the team with zero uncertainty at QB. And like Tua, if it doesn’t work after a couple seasons there will take it on the chin for a year or two and move on.
It is more defensible than Tua. Love had the talent but was raw as heck coming out which is why people criticized the first round selection. Everyone knew it would basically take the entire rookie contract at a minimum to know what you had with him. It may backfire, but it is a gamble worth taking when you see what lesser QB’s have received.
overrated players in the league. He's a product of his environment. I don't think he would have accomplished anything if he had played his career with the Giant's roster. Pay him at your peril.
Is a ridiculous contract. Before the season, there were doubts he could be an NFL QB and now he is the highest paid player in league history? The hypocrisy around here is comical.

The QB class from the 2020 NFL Draft is getting PAID. Five QBs were drafted top-100 that year:
Joe Burrow ($55m/year)
Jordan Love ($55m)
Tua Tagovailoa ($53.1m)
Justin Herbert ($52.5m)
Jalen Hurts ($51m)
UFB.
Vs. Eli to Jones to Cutlets
He has all the leverage against Cowboys
Agreed. This reward is based on 8 games. Jordan's second half of 2023. Which is pretty remarkable...

It's not about having a good year. Prescott HAS to win.
Dallas is actually smart not committing to Prescott. Have him prove it. If he does Dallas will pay him or he could choose free agency.
By not signing Prescott Dallas is doing the right thing not committing 5 more years to the same old same old.
UFB.
UFB - Love? He was good for maybe a half season and it wasn't THAT good.
The market is broken.
Carry on.
They will not win post season with Dak. Excellent regular season QB. Not too good post season.

LOL, of course you have to turn a post about Love into Jones.
Well, at least you’re consistent. Consistently an asshole. But still consistent.

I asked him a question before in another thread - and he ran like he did when the Giants were good.

Love 25-39 218 yds 1 TD 1 Int
My recollection De Vito outplayed Love that day.
Of course Love is a better QB than De Vito, but I think this is a massive overpay by the Packers.
And I have some friends and neighbors who are obnoxious Packers fans, so I hope this contract blows up in Green Bay’s face.

Haha
Appeals to authority are 20th century.
Also, now twice the packers have drafted a QB while having a HOFer still playing well.
The Giants haven’t drafted one in six years.
