Washington receivers were wide open every play. If they didn't consistently shoot themselves in the foot every trip to the red zone, we would have gotten blown out.
In three offseasons, Schoen still hasn't found a credible run defender to put next to Lawrence, who he inherited. His player personnel decisions overall have been poor IMO.
Daboll didn't activate the PS kicker despite knowing that Gano was already hurt. Designed runs with an injury riddled QB like Jones were also a mistake. Also, too many runs to Singletary straight into the line. None around the end from what I saw, and not enough screens.
Jones executed well what he was required to do, but from what I saw, he was rarely going through multiple reads.
Nabers was great. The drop was unfortunate, but as I said on the game thread, he likely took his eyes off the ball for a split second to make sure his feet were in bounds. We're not even in the game without him.
I’m kind of shocked that some of you still care so much.
Washington receivers were wide open every play. If they didn't consistently shoot themselves in the foot every trip to the red zone, we would have gotten blown out.
7 yard cushion over and over again, made it way too easy on a rookie QB in his 2nd start.
They only had the ball 7 times and scored 3 TDs. Add in the Nabers drop and Singletary's fumble, and that 5 scoring drives in 7. Washington had the ball all game. It really does fall squarely on the D
That was an absolutely gutless performance by the cream puff unit
Seven possessions, seven FGs. Not punts, no takeaways. I've never seen anything like that in 45 years of watching football.
The tackling was absolutely pathetic. No fundamentals. And no pass rush from the front four (unless there was a blitz).
I don't think the roster mismanagement or Gano disaster played into the outcome all that much, if he played the Giants still lose.
If it weren't for Washington being a bad team that repeatedly shot themselves in the foot every time they were in the red zone with numerous false starts (I lost count, was it five?) the Giants would've been blown out.
I can't believe I'm sick of this team after two games. I'm ready to move on to hockey.
Belichick should spend his entire fall watching college games,
you have a 6% chance of making the playoffs. Although Jones was better today, he was not good at all in long passes. I think this may be his best game of the year, because when he plays against real good defenses, he will suck. Another loss or 2 he will be benched.
also, our defense should be much much better so not sure if it is bowen's schemes or bad lack of pass rush.
If anyone had looked at basically most of the NYG wins in the past
Played really well today. They just didn't get many shots at it. Commanders controlled the game. That was one of the worst defensive performances I've seen and the 21 points allowed is a mirage.
And they didn't activate a backup kicker to cover for the eventuality that he couldn't go is an awful coaching decision that should have been learned during last year's Jet game.
What was more valuable in today's game? A kicker who could have got us another 5 points or one of your special teams "demons" lol.

We had one and traded him to Seattle , essentially for Burns who looks like he wasn’t worth the second pick or the massive contract. Honestly, can anyone name a move Schoen has made that improved this team significantly?

It's not a huge mental leap that Gano might injure himself favoring his groin. Daboll needs to plan for these contingencies or eventualities. You know your team needs a kicker. Going into a game with a compromised kicker means a backup should be available, especially since we had one on the practice squad.

No. Don't bullshit to fill a narrative.
I don't disagree that they should have had the other kicker on the roster, at all. I do disagree that the hammy was caused by the groin.
I'd blame Gano just having to chase down a returner because of piss poor coverage.

It happens all the time. People favor one injury and put strain on another part of their body.
O was a little better but not sure this WFT is a good test at this point. Pretty much the BD scheme with heavy targets to to an outhandling WR and at least for today some semblance of run game with the RB's. D was just terrible again.

LOL it's not BS. You hear about it all the time. Think what you need to though.
After coordinator, we ought to think about hiring a head coach.
It's the only reason Kafka is still here IMO. You can't have a new Offensive, Defensive, Special teams, o line coach, etc. Without looking at the idiot who hired all them.
It seemed fitting that the one time the defense showed up, we got a bogus penalty. There's a bunch of single plays that could have changed the outcome: Singletary's fumble, Nabers drop, the bogus holding, but I put most of the blame on the defense. I can't believe how poor they were. They must've had the ball for 40 minutes
Washington didn't even have to punt today! ILBs and Edge contain were absolutely shit today. Bowen appears clueless in making adjustments, as well. How do we turn this mess around. The D was supposed to be the best part of the team this year and we are relegated to this crap! Banks must of went off on the air?!

They had the ball 15 more minutes then us....that's an entire freaking quarter!
He had the kind of game today that makes me LOL at the posters who try to defend him next gen stats like "catch rate", "drop rate", and how he's a "bargain contract" because of all that.
The stats don't account for the timing of the drops (how the fuck could he drop the two point conversion???); the stats don't account for committing absolutely back breaking penalties; the stats don't account for lazy route running that allowed a defender to get in position to knock a ball away that otherwise should have resulted in a first down.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, he's nothing more than a JAG. And to think - he was the #1 receiver on this team for two years!
He wasn't the sole reason they lost today, of course - but he's a pretty big reason. Sy may have to make an exception/expansion to his three duds, but however big that list is, Slayton sure did earn his place on it if he's there.
2 punts
1 fumble
1 on downs.
Washington held the Ball for 37 1/2 minutes and 215 rushing yds on 35 carries.
Defense absolutely lost this game.
Shameful
Watching Burns chase down a play and just stop and watch said it all
Decision was not activating another kicker today. The even dumber decision was having Gano handle the kick offs on an injured groin.
How about Gano’s decision… as an injured 30 something year old KICKER.. going all out to to try to run down a returner like you’re a linebacker. And surprise, surprise….you pull a hammy and are probably on IR for.weeks. Dumb ass decision by a guy who wasn’t going to make the tackle anyway
Much better game. He was also pursuing way downfield. Clearly a lot of effort by him. That sack he almost got from behind the QB - boy does Daniels havev a quick release.
but this team continues to be the Washington Generals.
Finding new, comical ways to lose every week. They play the role perfectly.
This week, their star player drops an easy pass with the game on the line, they get screwed by the officials, and they lose their K on the opening play, knowing he was gimpy and refusing to elevate their K2.
Gut wrenching loss, but this is what really bad teams do. Find ways to lose even when they should win.
I don’t think JM wants to pay for another second set of HC/GM to 2 years.
Maybe BD goes and JS gets 1 more year, unless BBrownis an acceptable next man up .

Nabers was a bright spot today and good for him he thinks about it that way. But he was also the only reason we were in this game at all. He’ll make that catch in the games we need to win. A loss today was completely meaningless.
I'm glad you brought that up. The 2 point conversion attempts didn't make sense to me. After the TD the Giants went up by three. A pat puts the Giants up by 4. A successful 2 point conversion puts them up by 5. What's the the difference being up 4 points vs 5 points. My only guess is Daboll lost all confidence in the kicker after the missed pat. And he made that decision twice under the same circumstance.

Think so as well. I'd like to say that's an overreaction, but given our schedule, my guess we're looking at three or four wins at most. Schoen's personnel decisions and Daboll's game day decisions have been extremely poor. They came in together, and they will likely go out the same way.

Score should have been a lot worse against us.
Our soft defense couldn’t stop any NFL team.
We can’t stop the run or pass. Bowen’s scheme sucks.
Daboll cannot or should not go into a game with a lame kicker. Malpractice!!!
Too bad Jones can’t play 17 games against Washington. He was good today.
2 big drops by Slayton and Nabers.
OL had a good game today.
Dru Phillips was a STUD today.
Burns and Thibs need to be more effective in the pass rush. Washington does not have a good OL.
More importantly, does Bowen realize halftime is used to make adjustments!!!
I have lost all faith in Daboll as a HC. Schoen is one step from going over the cliff.
I don’t trust these 2 guys at all in rebuilding the Giants.
We are in the Dark Ages!!!
tackling, over pursuing, missed assignments. We've seen it all before. I'm not sure why I continue to hope that we might some day stop making those mistakes. But the worst was the near total lack of pressure from BB and KT against mediocre tackles. That's on Schoen.

I’m still not clear why Daboll couldn’t make it work with his DC. Wink’s defense wasn’t perfect but his defense was a leaning in defense and Bowen’s is a lean out.
One brings the energy to the other team and one feels like the D is on its heels.
Also, Wink’s defense lead the league in forced turnovers last season.

The Commanders DOMINATED the time of possession. They never punted. Defense had a lot more to do with the loss. You can’t score if you don’t have the ball. 🏈
I don't think so. If ownership thought they weren't safe, no way it doesn't mandate them to pay Barkley, no way it lets them trade draft capital and sign Burns to a massive deal, let alone let them have another go at the draft. 2 games doesn't change the calculus there. If it DOES...there is no reason to ever watch this team again until ownership sells.
on D. We did not make plays that were right in front of us. How many sacks did he run out of? BO missing tackles. JP not coming down with that Pik. When you are an average team at best, games come down to making a few more plays than your opponent. And Yes, their run D was total dogshit.

My thoughts exactly. I read that it was the 3rd highest pass allocation to one player since 2000.
Is what led him to start a coup of think it might be successful?
His own ego? Remember he also had a falling out with John Harbaugh over his defensive schemes when they were getting hit with injuries at CB while Lamar Jackson was hurt. Harbaugh wanted to force teams to have to work to score because he could not count on his O to hold up in a shootout.

Going into a game with a compromised kicker means a backup should be available, especially since we had one on the practice squad.

Because if he's running at full speed trying to not injure his groin it can place strain on other body parts.
No. Don't bullshit to fill a narrative.
I don't disagree that they should have had the other kicker on the roster, at all. I do disagree that the hammy was caused by the groin.
I'd blame Gano just having to chase down a returner because of piss poor coverage.
Lol, exactly.
I really respect the job he did in 2022, but those lights are getting pretty dim for Dabs.
Yep, looking like another house cleaning.

It happens all the time. People favor one injury and put strain on another part of their body.
Defensive post game with another "I have been around long enough" comments.

LOL it's not BS. You hear about it all the time. Think what you need to though.
It's the only reason Kafka is still here IMO. You can't have a new Offensive, Defensive, Special teams, o line coach, etc. Without looking at the idiot who hired all them.
He loved to take the points. Would’ve easily scratched a number of players for another kicker on the active roster.
They had the ball 15 more minutes then us....that's an entire freaking quarter!
To quote Bart Scott
Can't wait
LOL it's not BS. You hear about it all the time. Think what you need to though.
Ok...
1 fumble
1 on downs.
Washington held the Ball for 37 1/2 minutes and 215 rushing yds on 35 carries.
Defense absolutely lost this game.
Shameful
How about Gano’s decision… as an injured 30 something year old KICKER.. going all out to to try to run down a returner like you’re a linebacker. And surprise, surprise….you pull a hammy and are probably on IR for.weeks. Dumb ass decision by a guy who wasn’t going to make the tackle anyway
You have to make that your background picture on your next Inside BBI!
Gano was behind Ekler, he was never catching him. It doesn't matter if he was favoring his groin or not he shouldn't have been running.
I understand the want to hustle, but you can't be without a kicker. Don't let him hurt himself trying to tackle.

Gilliam should’ve been kicking off.
Why not a PS elevation based on the injury?
Finding new, comical ways to lose every week. They play the role perfectly.
This week, their star player drops an easy pass with the game on the line, they get screwed by the officials, and they lose their K on the opening play, knowing he was gimpy and refusing to elevate their K2.
Gut wrenching loss, but this is what really bad teams do. Find ways to lose even when they should win.
Rest of the season is just background noise.
I don’t think JM wants to pay for another second set of HC/GM to 2 years.
Maybe BD goes and JS gets 1 more year, unless BBrownis an acceptable next man up .

Daboll is gonna snap. There are still plenty of L’s headed our way over the next 8 weeks…

On the plus side, the OL looks like its coming together.

NOT SO FAST…..Carolina is much worse and they will be looking to draft another QB after the Bryce Young debacle….

I'm no fan of Leonard, but that isn't an outrageous ?. And Dabs is wilting.
While other teams find younger kickers, we stick with an injury prone kicker at an age when athletes start breaking down.
Jones, Nabers, Singletary, Burns, and Wan’Dale show us the potential and we lose because we can’t attempt a field goal or an extra point!
Unbelievable! Cursed!
Obviously not to stop the run.
Rest of the season is just background noise.
Think so as well. I'd like to say that's an overreaction, but given our schedule, my guess we're looking at three or four wins at most. Schoen's personnel decisions and Daboll's game day decisions have been extremely poor. They came in together, and they will likely go out the same way.

@ this point, good fucking riddance.

Daboll is Joe Judge. I don't see any difference at this point.
That is why he has an NFL job and everyone runs their Defense like he does... ohh wait.
I'm starting to wonder if Wink's rebellion wasn't in fact because he knew Daboll was incompetent and he tried to fix things from the DC position rather than go down with the ship.
Another busted 3rd round pick.

More likely he's talking about the penalties on the defense on failed third downs that extended three or four Washington drives.
Below average seems good.
One brings the energy to the other team and one feels like the D is on its heels.
Also, Wink’s defense lead the league in forced turnovers last season.

Bowen does suck and it was a bad hire. It seemed during the process they didn’t get the guys they wanted. And this is the end result of that.
Rest of the season is just background noise.
My thoughts exactly. I read that it was the 3rd highest pass allocation to one player since 2000.
Poor personnel decisions.
Poor in game decisions.
Terrible post game demeanor. Seems really put out having to answer any questions, which considering we stink week after week as fans we deserve better
His own ego? Remember he also had a falling out with John Harbaugh over his defensive schemes when they were getting hit with injuries at CB while Lamar Jackson was hurt. Harbaugh wanted to force teams to have to work to score because he could not count on his O to hold up in a shootout.

yes, he was meh. Mayfield rang up near 300 yards and 4 td’s and WTF was missing its best db today.
You know the Giants scored 3 TDs with only having the ball for 22min.
