Jones played a big boy game today. OL looks solid finally.
How? What else could Daboll possibly do? Starting RB and star WR down, a team devoid of offensive talent, who started the game with a 14 pt swing courtesy of the refs, just held the 5th best offense in the league to 13 pts, dominated in every facet of the game, what else does he need to do? Some of you are fucking ridiculous.
As did Jones, the OL, Slayton and Tracy. Shocked but if you think about it, the Giants were in 2 of the games they lost. Should have beat Washington, some bad calls hurt them against Dallas, Minnesota they were not close.
I still think that Gray fumble was horseshit and a false start was missed on the Seahawks td, but whatever. We won and looked good doing it for most of the game
Banks held DK to 4 catches and 55 yards. Sky isn’t falling on him yet
It never was. He's been fine. It's just that there's no one opposite him. You get a legit starting outside corner and he'll look better when he doesn't have to shoulder everything.
game by everyone. I thought Daboll could have run Tracy a little more in the third and fourth quarter, although I would not have run him on second down on the three and out after Seattle scored their TD. But I think overall he called a good game.
We dominated both lines of scrimmage. Yes, it took a blocked FG at the end to win, but we were on the road, all the way across the country, against a very good team.
I've been critical of Schoen, but his draft picks played well today, especially Tracy, Johnson, Banks, and Davidson. Jones was also excellent, and Slayton just balled out.
I do wish we could eliminate the drops and get something from Hyatt, but overall it was a terrific team win.
Will use this to stop so much negativity. Say what you want about Dabs but his teams play hard no matter record or score… a few more players and we have something
What fuckin dickhead you are. Actually rooting for filthadelpha. The same people who would punch you in the face and piss on you if they saw you wearing your Giants gear.

He’s a Yankees fan. Let me ask you a question: how many Mets fans are rooting for the Yankees? When you answer that, fuck off. Mets fans have made it their life’s work to root against the Yankees. Go Phillies!!!!
I know they had a few extra days to rest and prepare but it’s still a cross country trip against a good team in one of the noisier stadiums in the league. And without their best offensive weapon. Give Shane Bowen a lot of credit. A lot of people have dumped on him or the defense (even if they’re just random drive by posts) but those guys were ready to play and played well against a well balanced offense.

I was referring to the Jets losing and Rodgers throwing 3 picks, you crybaby. Holy shit, you guys are sensitive.
Jones isn't as bad as the detractors say and he isn't as good as his biggest fans say. Tracy looks very good. Daboll with a 2022 type performance.
Sean, that’s the difference tho, his supporters have never said he’s this amazing QB. But he’s not the liability people have made him out to be. He’s absolutely good enough to win with.
the Jones Praetorian Guard are quickly ready to forgive his crappy career and ready to sign him to another 4 year extension. Lets see if he can play this well or better in 3 of the next 4 games for consistency.
That Dabs starts to call the plays a little more aggressively with this performance. He’s still too conservative for my taste with the lead. If Jones were able to perform at this level consistently for the rest of the season you would have to really think about whether or not we need a QB with our first pick in 2025. It would be really nice to take another WR or CB.
But I do just want to remind everyone of when Joe Judge, in the midst of a losing season and tons of criticism, took a short handed team to Seattle and beat a good Seahawks team, and everyone said it was his signature win and how it proved he’s the coach of the future. It’s actually kind of eery how similar this is. A bunch of threads the next day on this forum were asking if we owe Gettleman a heartfelt apology.

I mean, the Vikings and Bucs fans must be beside themselves that they are rolling with what they have at that position too.
1) One of the more rewarding Giants wins in a long time
2) I don't see how anybody has a problem with Daboll today. That was the most complete game this team has played in a long time. We were a bullshit call away from a blowout victory here.
3) Tracy was so good, I think he made a case to start. Of course Singletary's ball control issues don't help. I actually like Singletary, but Tracy was outstanding. At the very least, he deserves more carries.
4) Today is not the day to complain about Jones. Best and most complete game from him in a while.

Not at all necessary, is it? He still needs to be replaced but there is no reason say anything.
DJ can’t throw the deep ball. But but but Burns hasn’t made an impact….
That one ball to Slayton was a beauty. I wonder why they don't try it more...
I can’t say for certain but it looked like they tried but the D was taking that shot away. Good on DJ for not forcing it and taking what they were giving him.
I thought a couple of times he looked deep to take the shot but it wasn’t there. Good job on playing to win the game

He is still not the long-term answer at QB. He has elevated his game to almost the Sam Darnold level. He is going to get himself hurt too. It has been 6+ years without learning how to slide or protect himself from big hits.
but not getting too high over this. If they want to win me over, do it again the next week and the week after. Then make the playoffs. Anything less they can all go.
To win and I want Jones to play as well as he can. It changes nothing about me wanting a new QB next year. The Giants should have beaten Washington and probably Dallas Too.
This team can hopefully reverse 2022 and peak in the second half of the year.

..especially with the pressure drifting to Steve Sax/Chuck Knoblauch territory. Those were so huge and perfectly done, and that says a lot about him IMO. How many under that spotlight just melt? Plenty.
Not that they mean a whole hell of a lot but they earned and deserved the win today. If we’re being honest it shouldn’t have even been as close as the final score.
Tip of the cap to the players and coaches for the win today.

I still think he got a little too conservative in the fourth quarter. The offense has to put a game away
The looked better prepared to play on both sides. Perhaps the extra days off helped analyzing everything and breaking some tendencies. Got the TE involved and hope to see DJ under center more.

Agreed but looking back it was really alll three phases that won the game.
At points it was the O controlling the game and at others the D stepped up, and at the end fhe ST came through.
This is the type of game this team needs to win. Contributions from all three phases plus good. coaching.
I think with one more really good draft they could win on talent alone but right now they need everything to click as it did today. At least against good teams.
optimistic going into the game. Except for the 95 yard drive given up, the Giants were aggressive on defense. They came up big when they needed to. They didn't fold after the Gray fumble. They even hit a couple of long passes and had a RB gain 129 yards.
Last year all of the games except one at this stage of the season were over by halftime. So, maybe there is something to look forward to in the next couple of seasons.
The tough games are coming up. Fingers crossed.
Too bad some fans are so dug in with their opinions that they cannot

Both are true, he called a great game, and also got a little conservative, tho its tough to tell if that's on him or Jones for not pushing the ball down the field when they are playing their safeties up.

Still stop being an ass. You can only win one game at a time
I get the years long frustration. What I don’t get it is fans with pent up angst who can’t find joy in a big, potentially season saving win. Like cigarettes, I often consider quitting BBI because it’s so negative. I’m kind of addicted to both, but giving serious consideration to eliminating things negative in my life.
Obviously, there are BBIers who are diehard Giants fans and some who are just miserable people. IDK. I miss when this was a place you could rely on to be a fun place to celebrate a Giants win.
Instead, it’s just a negative environment no matter what. A dark cloud. That sucks.
but the Giants not only out-played Seattle... they out-played them by quite a lot. In all phases of the game. And I am not only happy with the way the Giants ran the ball but also how the Giants stoned Seattle's run game, not to mention the beating they put on their QB.

The 14 point swing was the big difference. Then you've got a 36-13 final, which feels like how the game went.

Agree! It was a great game made closer by the refs. Too much over thinking. They played great. Enjoy it! This was a offense that put up ridiculous numbers last game.
Giants are 2-3. Jones has a QB rating of 100 or more in 3 of those games, 1 of which we win easily if we sign a fucking kicker before the game.
Again, Jones has been good this season and has been trending up ever since the week 1 debacle.
It’s ok to say it.
It would also be perfectly reasonable for someone returning on the early side of an ACL injury to be shaky in their first live action. He went up against a very good D before he had his sea legs (timing) back, and it was a disaster. Since then, he's been solid.

Nicest thing about today was there were so many contributors to the win. They dominated in all three phases of the game and so many played well. The blocked FG was something to behold. Finally someone figured out a way to use all that athletacism oozing out of Simmons!

It’s been one since 2022. Lack of faith in the QB is a big reason
but I am happy they won and looked like a decent, yet sometimes snakebitten, team. It was good to see them overcome a freak play that seems to happen to the Giants at a higher frequency than other teams.
Game balls to Dex, Tracy and Banks. One of the nice things that happened today was outside of all of the designed QB draws, the offense balanced itself out. Hopefully the wider incorporation of WRs, TEs and backs other than Nabers and Singletary will help open the field in the future. Space will open when the DCs will have to gameplan for other weapons.

1) Dex is an absolute beast. I know captain obvious. But he’s just so impressive he still wows me every week. He’s the best NT I’ve seen since Cortez Kennedy. He’s arguably the best defensive player in the game. You can see how much worse the D is when he comes out of the game.
2) it was nice that they got the TEs involved today. I hope they incorporate Theo Johnson more. I hope he keeps improving his catching ability. (All the skill pos need to work on their hands)
3) Tracey is the best back on the team. Singletary is more of a #2 rb anyway. Tracey needs to be the lead back from here on out.
4) This OL keeps getting better and better. They didn’t get a lot of time together this summer but now 5 weeks with the same line you can see they’re gelling.
5) DJ is a tough SOB. It was nice to see he found his deep ball today. Hopefully he can keep that up.
6) Dru and Nubin have me excited. Dru is a difference maker. I hope he stays healthy.
7) It was great to see all the other DL step up today. Davidson played great. I’d love to see him and Chatman keep improving and becoming solid contributors.

Yes. That game was much closer than it should have been. Offense needs to be able to get that first down. In fairness, it looked like a lot of contact on that third down pass.
Played well today but why are we making a big deal out of 257 yards and 2 TDs? This is what he did in 2022 against some teams. Agree, ball call, Lamb just did it 30 mins or so ago. Not sure I recall if he did it (and was called) before. First time I recall it called was Philly/Atl a few weeks back on Drake London, though he did a more exaggerated "gun" motion, if that's even what the penalty is for, I don't even know.

Maybe it wasn’t “great”, but it was certainly enough to win. If Slayton and Robinson don’t drop very catchable balls, they very well may have.
No. The pass you are referencing to Slayton was off the mark. We covered this in detail in the podcasts.
You guys swing back and forth based on the W-L result way too much. Jones did not play well against the Cowboys. Sy covered it too.
Jones absolutely missed too many throws vs Dallas, that is true. Robinson and Slayton did drop passes is also try. Had Jones thrown the ball vs Dallas like he did yesterday, the Giants win easily.

Without Malik Nabers and Devin Singletary, he schemed guys open. Daniel Jones played very well.
I thought they would struggle score. They could've had 30.

CB Deonte Banks is running up the Giants sideline high fiving fans as #Giants pull off the 29-20 victory
he stepped up big time today.
That one ball to Slayton was a beauty. I wonder why they don't try it more...
Didn't the Mets and Jets lose?
Banks held DK to 4 catches and 55 yards. Sky isn’t falling on him yet
Nice getting the run game and hopefully they give Tracy the ball more. Those impact RB runs open things up.
Very good game from Jones passing and then the added gutsy runs.
The 4th down sack wasn’t impactful?
Banks held DK to 4 catches and 55 yards. Sky isn’t falling on him yet
It never was. He's been fine. It's just that there's no one opposite him. You get a legit starting outside corner and he'll look better when he doesn't have to shoulder everything.
honestly curious but how good do his biggest fans say he is?
We dominated both lines of scrimmage. Yes, it took a blocked FG at the end to win, but we were on the road, all the way across the country, against a very good team.
I've been critical of Schoen, but his draft picks played well today, especially Tracy, Johnson, Banks, and Davidson. Jones was also excellent, and Slayton just balled out.
I do wish we could eliminate the drops and get something from Hyatt, but overall it was a terrific team win.
They really did ...
and I am shocked. I don't get to watch every game and up until today - everything I hear is "DOOM".
I wasn't prepared for this effort.
To be honest/fair - somebody in the forum said they had a "Good feeling about this game". I wish I knew his name - I would give him credit.

I think he’s being sarcastic. Everybody should’ve really enjoyed the game today. It all comes down to being able to play like today, consistently.
It hasn’t happened the last few years for Jones and company. Maybe we can turn a corner. Going to take more than today’s game to prove it (obviously).

I think they say above average hahaha so it makes him about what he is… average to slightly good with lots of good protection.
Shout out to the OL!! Give Schoen credit
@DDuggan21
Hell of an effort from Daniel Jones: 23-34, 257 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, and so many tough runs.
Darius Slayton (8-22-1) and Tyrone Tracy (18-129) stepped up big with Malik Nabers and Devin Singletary out.

Sean, that’s the difference tho, his supporters have never said he’s this amazing QB. But he’s not the liability people have made him out to be. He’s absolutely good enough to win with.

I mean, the Vikings and Bucs fans must be beside themselves that they are rolling with what they have at that position too.
But hey, keep saying they are a horrible team and the QB is horrendous.
Do we have the best QB in NY?
No. That would be Allen.
I think the niner's lost 2 weeks in a row ... now?
2) I don't see how anybody has a problem with Daboll today. That was the most complete game this team has played in a long time. We were a bullshit call away from a blowout victory here.
3) Tracy was so good, I think he made a case to start. Of course Singletary's ball control issues don't help. I actually like Singletary, but Tracy was outstanding. At the very least, he deserves more carries.
4) Today is not the day to complain about Jones. Best and most complete game from him in a while.
Hell of a coaching job today.
Not at all necessary, is it? He still needs to be replaced but there is no reason say anything.

I can’t say for certain but it looked like they tried but the D was taking that shot away. Good on DJ for not forcing it and taking what they were giving him.
I thought a couple of times he looked deep to take the shot but it wasn’t there. Good job on playing to win the game

This team can hopefully reverse 2022 and peak in the second half of the year.

The defense deserves a hell of a lot of credit. They shut down one of the more explosive offenses in the league. Hopefully this is the break out for Burns/Thibs who both had really good games

It's pretty surprising considering Nabers wasn't playing and their RB was a rookie. But they played great, and the defense stepped up!

I wish we could get an in depth explainer of the call and why they called it. You have to be expecting a cut block for it to work
I still think he got a little too conservative in the fourth quarter. The offense has to put a game away

Last year all of the games except one at this stage of the season were over by halftime. So, maybe there is something to look forward to in the next couple of seasons.
The tough games are coming up. Fingers crossed.
Singletary is a good #2/3rd down RB if he can hold the ball.

Obviously, there are BBIers who are diehard Giants fans and some who are just miserable people. IDK. I miss when this was a place you could rely on to be a fun place to celebrate a Giants win.
Instead, it’s just a negative environment no matter what. A dark cloud. That sucks.
Without him today, it forced Jones to distribute the ball to the other receivers.
but the Giants not only out-played Seattle... they out-played them by quite a lot.

Again, Jones has been good this season and has been trending up ever since the week 1 debacle.

He drew two big holding penalties to extend drives though

It would also be perfectly reasonable for someone returning on the early side of an ACL injury to be shaky in their first live action. He went up against a very good D before he had his sea legs (timing) back, and it was a disaster. Since then, he's been solid.

Nicest thing about today was there were so many contributors to the win. They dominated in all three phases of the game and so many played well. The blocked FG was something to behold. Finally someone figured out a way to use all that athletacism oozing out of Simmons!

It’s been one since 2022. Lack of faith in the QB is a big reason

More from Isaiah Simmons: “Personally, I ain’t going to lie, for me, it was kind of a feeling of relief. I’m sure everybody knows the season isn’t going how I wanted. So it was kind of a feeling of relief. It’s been a minute since I’ve been able to go make a huge play for the team — since last year, really. Yes. That game was much closer than it should have been. Offense needs to be able to get that first down. In fairness, it looked like a lot of contact on that third down pass.

Jones absolutely missed too many throws vs Dallas, that is true. Robinson and Slayton did drop passes is also try. Had Jones thrown the ball vs Dallas like he did yesterday, the Giants win easily.
