check out Skinner's review at the 24:34 mark. An RPO is called with Hyatt the primary target on a slant. Not only does he getting totally stifled with a pretty marginal jam but he just doesn't even try to fight to get into his route.
Terrible terrible lack of effort.
Remember this play whenever people complaint why Hyatt isn't getting targeted.
Hyatt Stinks - (

He is definitely very soft.
I liked the pick and am willing to give him more rope.
If he's not developing to the Giants' satisfaction, there are teams that would probably take him on: KC, LV and Cleveland come to mind. But the Browns drafted his Tennessee teammate and that guy hasn't developed much, either.
I think he's a less promising prospect now than when he was drafted. He's probably not going to be back next season unless he steps things up.
Tapes out on him. Teams see that he can’t beat the press and they don’t let him get off the line.
Last year we tried him on drags and he always ran 1 yard short of the stick (rookie, can be corrected)
He mad a piss poor attempt in the preseason game on the pass up the sideline.
He just isn't a good fit for this offense.
He basically needs a free release to get off the LOS, which requires a specific scheme or play designed to do that. And even then, he can only run fly patterns or quick slants, where his lack of upper body strength will also hinder his ability to make contested catches.
Hyatt has a ton of speed and tracks and high points the ball beautifully, but those attributes are at least so far outweighed by his lack of upper body strength and limited route running skills. It takes a lot more than speed and good hands to be a successful NFL WR.
I wouldn't trade him, and would be surprised if the Giants do so. His contributions by now should be a lot greater, but he's only in his second year, and we'd likely not get much in return. But with Nabers out, I'd like to see more of Hodgins or even BFW, at least when Nabers, Slayton, or Robinson or out.
He has no idea how to play the position.
He rounds out his routes
He loses all battles with the defender
He does not come back to the ball
He does not fight for the ball
He does not have good hands
He does not know how to draw a penalty
He could be out of football in a couple of years. If he was an undrafted free agent, he may not have made it through training camp.
Every play he was wide open. Never made contested catches. Never made anyone miss. Most of his big plays were the result of blown coverages and empty space. Also seemed to struggle catching the ball cleanly - had a lot of bobbles.
After the pick, I convinced myself that his skills could translate and it was more a lack of opportunity to make contested catches/make guys miss since everything came so easy. Last year, thought he showed some flashes.
But this year it seems every flaw he had at UT has been exacerbated. They will need to invest in a WR2 if Slayton leaves after this year. Hyatt is a negative when he is out there.

Do you have substantial evidence to back this up?
The stats in 2023 don't. Especially Tyrod.
Sounds like he needs the CFL solution.
Unlimited movement behind the LOS, so no one jams. CB are all off.

it make sense to put him in motion more often?

That was my recommendation on a different thread. He can't handle press coverage. You can get around out in college and just use your speed, but in the NFL, with NFL caliber players, you have to deal with it.
