if there's one of those lefties I trust to put forth competitive at-bats against a lefty, it's Rizzo.
Regardless, way less pitchers fucking around with Judge with Stanton behind him. Now Judge needs to be a little more patient and also recognize that they are throwing him a pretty small % of fastballs.
Wrapping this up tonight would be huge, especially if NLDS goes 7. Cleveland's crowd gonna be over the top, this should be big!
if the Yanks win the pennant and go on to take the World Series, someone on this board will criticize Boone for the way he’s holding the championship trophy.

After all, I called for Stanton in the cleanup role. I just don't get the quick flip flop in philosophy. That means yesterday wasn't about lefty-righty as so many here said. It's just the lineup he (or the analysts) wanted.
That's been this offense. A lot of opportunities wasted. They also make a lot of opportunities, so score eventually. I still think it was a good inning. They have to hope Bibee doesn't settle in after getting out of it.
Cleveland has the vaunted penqBut, the Yankees have gotten to
Not really - he just has a very good arm. He makes a lot of mistakes and allows the ball to play him at times. He also takes too long to make his throw on occasion.
He has potential and probably will work in the offseason. He absolutely has talent to be a star there.

Fair points. I don't really worry about it when the ball is hit to him though. Honestly sometimes I'm relieved when it's him grabbing it
How many times is he going to swing at balls? Every post season game he goes up swinging at sliders down and away. If he just puts the bat on his shoulder he'd walk...

Great idea. Turn off an elimination game in the ALCS for your favorite team to watch a 20-0 college football game.

Stanton did the same thing twice. Maybe Bibee is pitching well? It's allowed to happen.
have been absolutely brutal. They can’t really replace them though. Just have to hope they can eventually do something. Or that the rest of the lineup does enough to compensate for them.
get that Rizzo is slow, but if you are putting in a pinch runner for him, that runner better be stealing a base to avoid the double play. Now you've lost one of your better hitters.
Like, absolutely dreadful. And it's not 'bad luck.' He sucks offensively.
But he’s been great behind the plate. I’ll take his D and bank on the other 8 to carry the O. Maybe he runs into one but even if he doesn’t, he’s a rookie and playing terrific behind the plate in his first playoff go round.

Totally agree. I was surprised he didn't try to steal

I agree no question. He did hit one HR this post season but again as long as he doesn’t let it affect his terrific defense I’ll deal with it from the 8 hole.
How do you give one of the absolute worst hitters in all of baseballs both of those calls? Bullshit
Usually if an ump thinks he missed one, he’ll ring the guy up on the next close one but I’d bet it was a FU to Hill’s reaction to the first missed strike call.
I think it's too early to say Wells isn't a good post season player.

Probably. Not sliding means you have to slow to not overrun the bag. Either way, he was likely out. If he wasn't running maybe (maybe) that goes through. But, Rocchio was right there to cover the bag.

I don't think I've enjoyed anyone's ABs more than Soto since maybe Mattingly. He's an artist at the plate. He doesn't give away one pitch. On the the WS! Awesome wrapping it up tonight and have Come lined up for the opener.

Exactly right. I am glad I got to see him play in person a couple of times this year. He is a real joy to watch from warmups through the end of the game. He loves playing and has fun, but he is also a real competitor. That AB was special to watch.

Love that they had to go through this grinder of a 3 games

Hell Yeah, that AB for the HR was a beauty to watch. How it worked the pitcher and how it talked to himself and to the pitcher. It's an AB that EVERY player should watch.
Yeah, how do you differentiate. Both deserving. I guess Giancarlo just earned his $27 million dollars. Gosh, when he hits them, there isn't enough time to doubt..
Helps when your relievers come through for you. Obviously Weaver was great, but man did Leiter, Hill & Cousins get them a ton of big outs and a lot of swings and misses.
Somewhat speechless with respect to Soto and Stanton. Yanks haven’t had these kind of postseason moments in a while. Either could have been MVP
Unsung hero was our bullpen. Theirs is great - ours was better in this series. Especially bouncing back after game 3.
Found myself getting nostalgic, I was 3 years old in 77, my old man used to talk about putting me to bed then watching that Series. Obviously got to enjoy many great Yankee wins with him in the years after
I tucked my 2 year old son in tonight, then settled in to watch the Yanks. Look forward to telling him about it one day

This. My kid, a 17 year old, has no memory of 2009 and will be in college next fall. So this has been one sweet ride for us.

Same here my daughter is 20 and son 16. I enjoy the games, but I've seen the Yanks win it 7 times. For my kids I want them to get to see this one. It's a blast watching it with them. My daughter is in college and we went down to visit her yesterday and today at Maryland for homecoming (I went there too) the homecoming game was an exciting 2 touchdown comeback in the 4th vs USC and we got to run on the field afterwards as a family and then got in the car and drove back to NY watching the Yanks on the phone. What a great family moment to share with them.
My oldest is 20 and does remember them winning in 2009, but couldn't really watch. My other son was born the day before the 2009 ALCS was finished. He, obviously, has no recollection of that WS. He's really been into this post season and I've loved watching with him.
He was 8 in 96, just getting into Little League and baseball when he got to see the Yanks win their first WS in his lifetime. Then had the great Dynasty during his formative years and after a couple of ticker tape parades, thought it was not only the Yanks but his birthright they win the WS every year.
I made sure he knew it wasn’t and I was twice his age when I got to see my first Yankee WS Championship. Thankfully he got it, has been a fan his whole life, and called me late last night after his shift to celebrate another Pennant with me.
Best of times for us Yankee dads and here’s to hoisting number 28!

Probably just to annoy you. Does anyone enjoy watching the game or just enjoy second guessing lineup decisions?
Was also a perfect throw. Anything less he's in.
Rather have 2nd and 3rd nobody out for Judge…who just got hit

That was a hat tip play, i don't mind the send.
We did get to Bibee who doesn't look like he is going to go deep.

He only threw about 18/19 pitches. I believe they only want 12 outs from him.

Stupid pitch selection...should have been a slider on the 3-2(and on a few others). Nailor was zeroed in on the FB.
Looks like he’s hung a coupls of curves. I think we’ll get to him.

wtf is wrong with some of you?
He’d be at about 100 if they’d just stop swinging at his slop 2 feet outside the strike zone
Time to watch Texas/Georgia.
Stanton did the same thing twice. Maybe Bibee is pitching well? It's allowed to happen.
Rodon is pitching well but the damn guardians are maxing out their talent.
Time for our hitters to turn that on.
He broke a bat on his last pitch.

I understand, and he pitched well. Still wish we could have gotten more length.

What a different player in the post season.
Holy. SHIT.
Holy. SHIT.
If you want to second guess managers, they should have walked Stanton to face Jazz.
He has taken back his super powers on loan all season to Judge.
2-2
Win or lose, this is the MVP of the series.
Fuck

I assume Boone’s trying to save his better bullpen arms, with 3-1 series lead

That blue moon was yesterday's HR
To be fair, he threw him 2 strikes that the umpire didn't call

Perfect pitch at 2-2, he was not walked although that was the result
He's too important defensively to sit
Usually if an ump thinks he missed one, he’ll ring the guy up on the next close one but I’d bet it was a FU to Hill’s reaction to the first missed strike call.

Kirk Kirk Baby!!!!!
The first 2, at least…
That's baseball, Suzyn.
He did slow down maybe he was afraid he might over run the base.
If we get out of the 9th, do we see Stroman?
I agree, but the pen is so ravaged there's basically no one left.

Yup. Hal just has to sign the check and let Soto fill in the amount.
No way they can let him leave the Bronx.

Torres, Stanton and Volpe all took their game up a huge notch. We will need that to continue to get this done.

So, yes hopefully we shit on Judge all week....
