has a lot of Eli in him. I like him a lot. I would be excited to get him. He takes shots downfield, throws with great anticipation and has very good arm talent.

Long way to go for sure. I watch a lot of video content during the offseason, and I stumbled onto LSU's bowl game last season against Wisconsin. Since Daniels was sitting out for the draft, Nuss played QB. And man did he light it up. I was really impressed with the types of throws he was making. Just a natural thrower.
He is a gambler though and will put the ball in bad spots. Personally, I'm okay with that because of the risk-reward since he has an arm that can throw players open. But that will have to be an area of improvement for sure...

That's actually not a bad comp. Eli was a little bigger, but I think Nuss may be more athletic.

is that he appears to grade out well in the areas where Jones grades the worst.
I call guys like Nussmeier arrogant throwers. They believe they can put the ball anywhere and dare the defense to make a play. That's what happens when you are gifted and totally believe in your ability.
I had changed my perspective on a qb class can produce elite talent at any time. But this class reeks of 2013 or 2019. I truly believe JJ McCarthy would have been qb1 in this class by a country mile. This isn’t the spot to grab your top 5 qb. Look to 2026.

I'm not saying Nussmeier is Burrow, I was commenting bw's arrogant throwers statement.
Both dropped today. Milroe too. The QB class may be shit. Sanders won today, but had 2 picks. At least we have Danny.
Ask yourself this...
How do you think Milroe would have done today against Arizona? And would Sanders have performed in Knoxville against one of the best defenses in the country?
Who has been on Nuss all year. I see the talent, but I can’t tell how much is decision making vs. gambling. He makes some unforced errors.
There should be no reason to come out of this draft with no QB again this year. It is the #1 need on this team and there are a lot of guys with potential. Let our “QB Whisperer” earn his reputation and mold one of them.
that doesn't bother me. It is always easier to reel a guy in than it is to get him to be aggressive. No guts, no glory. I'd rather a QB test what he can and cannot do than to be gun shy and too conservative.
Gonna be interesting if they make a change at QB in the 2nd half. I truly doubt they will but I wouldn't be surprised either way.
In the same game Beck also sucked. For me, that pushes Ward further to the top. I don't know how I'd rank them, but I think Ward, Nuss, and Sanders are the top 3. After that, there's a bit of a dropoff.
How i do. Would LOVE Nuss. He just looks so proficient at QB. Has an arm that can reach every blade of grass. Has a good understanding of defenses. Has some dog in him. My QB1

Yep.
I also am intrigued by Allar but that is more based on age and
projection because he has the tools. I wouldn't be surprised to see him become a really good QB in a year or two but the other side is true too where he doesn't progress.
Milroe seems to have lost a lot of steam lately as well
Passing on the 2024 QBs looks worse every day. Still hope they draft a QB in April.
I understand it’s just your opinion but of the QBs available at the Giants pick that they passed on have done absolutely nothing so far. Sure one or two may end up decent but saying it looks worse every day is asinine. McCarthy out for the season. Penix hasn’t sniffed the field and Nix has been mostly straight trash.
You were pissed off they didn’t take a QB (so was I) and you’re allowing that bias to cloud your evaluation of both last years and this years class.
I’ve watched pieces of maybe 2 LSU games this year
But honestly, the idea of a Stafford or another bridge QB is more appealing than any of these options.
This. What they should have done when Jones and his people wanted over 30 million a year for one year of production. Even if they call in love w Ward or Nuss and can get them sign a bridge guy to a 1-2. Year deal and let he kid sit. Ala Mahomes or Love.
Either way dumping Jones has to happen. A bridge guy might actually win 7-10 games. They lose today the need to just start Lock or DaVito the rest of the year and see if either of those guys can be that cheap bridge
I think having enough athletic ability to maneuver in the pocket is the critical skill.
I'm not in favor of QB's who need to run to have success or offenses who need that QB run production to succeed as an offense. Those QB's tend to struggle when that run game can't get going (often playoffs). They are good bridge QB's. If they don't advance in the pocket you look to upgrade but with the right HC and team building you can win a bunch of games.

It's not bias. The class isn't looking as good, just as the experts said it wouldn't be.
Didn't mean they shouldn't take a QB. They should. It's just more confirmation that passing on a QB in 2024 was foolish.
We have to react to every clickbait "scout" and their new opinion on the best college QB...wasn't it Milroe like 2 weeks ago? I guess whoever has a good game will be the topic of the week going forward...hopefully we draft someone next year so this sad exercise can end. One can dream at least...

Milroe was terrible yesterday but that is one bad game. I'm not going to just toss out his entire season thus fa based one admittedly awful game.
We have no idea what JJ, Penix, or Nix will be as pros, no idea how this current class of Qbs will grade relative to those three, or how the current class will end up as pros. So I think making that statement right now is premature.
If I had to guess, despite Milroe's and Beck's struggles, I'd wager they are going to grade out the same as McCarthy and Penix, and better than Nix.
Probably one of the only good things of the 12 team playoffs

I agree with nearly all of this. Despite his recent struggles, Milroe still has a plus arm, athleticism, and mobility. That hasn't changed. Players are drafted based on how they are going to project to the next level and poor outings are expected.
Beck is a different story for me. He's regressed significantly from last year. It looks like he's locking onto his first reads a ton and defenses are keying on that. I don't have any All-22 video to confirm that, just based on what I am seeing week after week where his head doesn't appear to scan the field. And maybe it's me, but I expected more athleticism and that looks different now.
Beck and Ewers took a huge nose dive yesterday
There footwork yesterday was awful
For me jury still out on Ward. I question his decision making big time.
I still think Sanders is QB#1 but comes with family baggage
A lot of second day QB’s potentially in next years draft
I wouldn’t mind taking a developmental QB in the draft.
FA QB’s may be the way to go short term as I am over Jones.
The people knocking Nix don't know what they're talking about
That guy is running the full offense under a head coach who isn't going to baby him, and that team is 4-3. What's going on over there isn't the 2022 training wheels offense we needed here to keep Jones from killing us. Nix has actually been thrown into the deep end with no swimmies, and he's staying afloat. I think it bodes well for the future.

Beck needs to get his head together over the balance of the season. Except for that 2nd half against Alabama, he has been average to poor, and people might forget that as great as he was in the comeback against Alabama, he put Georgia in that hole in tbhe first place.
Shoot, right now, I'd take Dart over him.
Sadly, Ewers was even worse than Beck yesterday. At least with Beck, you can point to some plus athletic skills. Ewers has no real plus athletic skills so games like yesterday are going to hurt him more.
I'm with you on Nuss by the way. Like his arm, like his athleitcism, like his gun slinger attitude.

It's odd to me that you point to a teams record to support QB play when it's clear that the record is independent (or even despite) the QB play. You're doing it with Nix and you've done it this year with Fields. But in 2022, you repeatedly derided Jones' contributions to the team's record. Be consistent.
I disagree re Nix. I agreed with you all last year re Penix. I guess we'll see how it all shakes out.
but I hope the Giants leadership (not Mara & co) are doing their due diligence on QBs in the draft. I also expect them to look closely at FA QBs. Either way, we need one of them to start next year.

As a passer Jones was passenger in 2022. Nix is no passenger. He's not playing very well, but he's not killing them either. I expect it's a sign of good things in the future for him.

It's nothing like Jones in 2022.
This statement makes no sense. You admit he's not playing well, but then argue that he's constributing more to Denver's record then Jones did in 2022.
Whatever, I'm not going down this rabbit hole with you.
I don't know him from a hole in the wall, I'm sure he is a great guy who cares deeply about his craft. But there are a few easy steps to determine if someone is an actual scout, and not a salesman or entertainer:
*are they employed by an organization that utilizes their input to make actual business decisions?
*are they giving their opinions on the internet?
*are they working for a company that is trying to sell you something, using methods like, oh, I don't know, generating clicks?
We all have to eat, and finding a way to do that is never unworthy...but take it for what it is, pure entertainment.
Hope that helps. (Also, #1 was milroe 2 weeks ago, probably 2 weeks from Beck being his #1)
Have the 29th offense in points per drive. Wonderful. I have no idea he's playing without training wheels, neither does anyone else in here except perhaps Sy. No one watches their game tape and All 22. He's a rookie and should get better. That's what good HC's do or they make necessary changes. Mike Tomlin and Bruce Arians did that. Sean Payton did it (Russell Wilson and his conservative play last few years). Daboll isn't like those guys because he's below them.

Some questions...
Have you watched any of Sy's video content?
Does he come off as sincere about his evaluations and opinions?
Does he seem like a guy who would go against conventional wisdom for added attention?
and my comment was more generalized than specific...but I do know a little about the company he works for, and I also am lucky to know 2 actual NFL scouts, so my opinion is influenced by that. Like I said, I am positive he is a good guy who works hard and is genuine...but the industry he is in hard to take serious. I look at it this way, if all the online scouting services disappeared tomorrow (honestly, this applies to most of the moochers who live of the NFL), what exactly would change for the NFL and football fans? My contention is absolutely nothing...which leads me to my conclusion that it is all entertainment, with no actual purpose or meaning.
But, to each their own, right? If you enjoy it then keep on keeping on

If Nuss was more of a legit dual threat, he'd be a top five pick, IMV. Because his arm talent and pocket poise are pretty high level.

Exactly, the more guys who can be considered QB#1, the better chance the Giants have of getting their guy.

Unless your release is lightning quick, you need some elusiveness.
I’m good with that
He had some big-time throws and he is tough.
I am looking forward to seeing him against some superior defenses.
Sander's play was disappointing.
Despite Colorado's win, he did not look good against an underwhelming defense.

If I had to guess, despite Milroe's and Beck's struggles, I'd wager they are going to grade out the same as McCarthy and Penix, and better than Nix.
I love how people are taking victory laps in October as if this kid is now a shoe-in to be the next Joe Burrow.

As a passer Jones was passenger in 2022. Nix is no passenger. He's not playing very well, but he's not killing them either. I expect it's a sign of good things in the future for him.
It's nothing like Jones in 2022.
Enjoy the game.

This statement makes no sense. You admit he's not playing well, but then argue that he's constributing more to Denver's record then Jones did in 2022.
Whatever, I'm not going down this rabbit hole with you.

Some questions...
Have you watched any of Sy's video content?
Does he come off as sincere about his evaluations and opinions?
Does he seem like a guy who would go against conventional wisdom for added attention?
But, to each their own, right? If you enjoy it then keep on keeping on
Roll with Daniel!
This.
We count our blessings, every day!
Better make that the Brooklyn bridge, cus we dun shit the bed!

We have to react to every clickbait "scout" and their new opinion on the best college QB...wasn't it Milroe like 2 weeks ago? I guess whoever has a good game will be the topic of the week going forward...hopefully we draft someone next year so this sad exercise can end. One can dream at least...
Sy is now a "clickbait scout"?
Yikes.
We need that "withdraw post" button, stat.
Eric, can we afford that?
