I think we'll know within the first 2-3 offensive series if that's going to happen.
If he looks nervous about not having Thomas or is just off (like last week) early on, might as well turn the game off.
Can we score fewer than no points ? Less than zero ? Barkley will probably have a good day and Giants lose 23 to negative 3 . Does not appear Giants can kick FG's anymore so they go negative .
Remember when Tyrod torched Eagles last year ? So so long ago .
I would be shocked if Jones throws a TD pass today.
He simply doesn't see the whole field. I think he has a cognitive issue with respect to playing QB in the NFL. He typically has an expression of bewilderment. Not saying the guy is stupid. He obviously is not. But IQ and QB intelligence are not the same. No one would ever accuse Bret Favre of being a member of Mensa, but the guy could see the field.
it's hard to envision a path to victory for the G-Mean. And with Joshua Ezeudu at Left Tackle, was there ever really a path?
We have no idea how Ezeuda will play. Unless you’re one of those guys under the impression that young players never get better and if they struggle as a rookie they just suck forever
Beating the fucking Eagles is really the only passion I have
With the NYG. It’s the one thing that has persisted from the “good times”. I would not be upset at all if we won today. That being said, we’ll be the Philly get right game. They’re not good at all, but will look it today…

Giants-Eagles pregame thoughts:
• This is a rare instance when the highest stakes aren't for a player or a coach. GM Joe Schoen has the most riding on this game. Schoen was the driving force behind not re-signing Saquon Barkley. We all saw John Mara's objections on Hard Knocks and the awkward interactions between the two on the topic.
Mara deferred to Schoen, and it's a decision that can't be fully evaluated for a year or two. But that won't make it any easier for Mara to stomach if Saquon runs wild in an Eagles win today.
• I usually start these breakdowns with the Giants' offense, but let's stick with the Saquon angle. He's downplayed the significance of this game, which is laughable to anyone who knows him. He's dying to have a big game and stick it to Schoen.
The question is if he'll be too amped up. Is he going to be pressing and trying too hard to make a big play? We've seen some moments like that in big spots from him. Wouldn't surprise me if he has a drop early because he's trying to do too much.
That said, he should have a good game. The Eagles are committed to running the ball, which is something that the Giants haven't seen much this season. Four of their six opponents rank in the bottom seven in rush attempts per game. The Eagles are surely going to feed Saquon to give him a chance to make a point to his former team.
• Opponents' lack of rushing attempts has been puzzling because the Giants use light boxes at the second-highest rate in the league. It'd be tempting to load up the box to stop Saquon (that's why Cleveland was successful last week), but that's not Shane Bowen's preference. And that's not an ideal recipe against these Eagles WRs. Giants are going to need their DL and LB to be stout against the run. Dru Phillips will be key to the run D from the slot.
• This is another matchup where the Giants' pass rush needs to dominate a vulnerable O-line to give them a chance. They should line Brian Burns up on backup LT Fred Johnson all day. Dexter Lawrence won't be sad to see Jason Kelce go.
• Curious to see how Bowen matches the corners today. He threw a wrinkle by putting Deonte Banks on Tee Higgins last week. Do they do the same and put him on Devonta Smith today and double AJ Brown with Cor'Dale Flott and a safety like they did Ja'Marr Chase?
• Now to the offense, Daniel Jones plays well against this type of defense. The Eagles aren't going to blitz much and they aren't generating much pressure. He should be able to get the ball to his first read today, which is key for his success.
• That first read will often be Malik Nabers. The sensational rookie is back after missing two games. He provided a reminder of his talent by "Moss-ing" Banks on a red-zone fade during Thursday's practice. He's averaged 15 targets in his last three games. Won't be surprised if he's in that range again.
• O-line coach Carmen Bricillo has earned deserved plaudits for his work this season. But he's benefited from a mostly veteran group. We're going to learn more about him now that Josh Ezeudu is at LT.
It was a disaster when Ezeudu was at LT last season, but he was put in an unfair position after spending all offseason working at guard. He was at tackle under Bricillo all offseason, so we'll see if he's made strides.
The Giants are going to need to give Ezeudu help, which is a big change because they often left Andrew Thomas on an island at LT. There's also the intangible impact on Jones to consider. He has tremendous trust in Thomas, which naturally isn't there with Ezeudu. It should help that the Eagles don't have their typically disruptive pass rush.

Boy that reads like an Inside BBI Eagles vs Giants transcript.. Who said those very sane things?? Oh yeah, I Did! ;)
Jordan Raanan
@JordanRaanan
Josh Ezeudu is going to start at left tackle. He told me this week he's in a much better position to succeed. He's spent the entire spring and summer working at left tackle, unlike last year when he was thrown at left tackle after spending the entire spring + summer competing for a starting guard spot.
Wouldn't be surprised to see the Giants give Ezeudu some help. Expect blocking TE Chris Manhertz to assist on the left side more than usual.
The contingency plan is for the Giants to move right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor to the left side and insert Evan Neal at RT.
My thoughts on what we needed coming into the season
1. a tackle who had played a decent left tackle who had moved to right tackle.
2. a right guard with experience at right tackle.
3. a veteran guard
4. a massive defensive tackle to help stop the run.
We got the right guard/tackle and the veteran guard. We got an edge rusher instead of the defensive tackle.
has shown enough to take a wait and see approach on the backup LT. The kid as shown the athletic ability for the spot he now has had some proper training and preparation. At worst there is a 50/50 chance but think we'll be pleasantly surprised overall.

Devin Singletary was the first RB up in warmups. Don't think it means that much, but reinforces that he hasn't been Wally Pipped. I'd expect Singletary and Tyrone Tracy to rotate, at least initially. Could ride the hot hand as the game progresses.

Josh Ezeudu will start at LT for Andrew Thomas, as expected. He's with the first-team next to LG Jon Runyan Jr. in warmups.
Daniel Jones has today, and what sort of run game they get going. If it’s like the Seattle game, Daniel Jones should do fairly well. And if it’s like the Cincy game, Daniel Jones will melt away like an ice cube in late July.
we lose by 14. Ezeudu won't be as bad as he was last year, and the Giants will smartly give him help. But I have no faith in Jones. His occasional flashes notwithstanding, he's basically a one read QB who is as such very easy to defend. He hasn't thrown a TD pass at home in forever. And nobody is scared of his running.
all the Schoen love people keep throwing his way you have to question a man who drafted Ezedeu and thinks he’s a chance player and keeping Jones as your QB.
One of the most suspect comments all week was that
Not sure why people think starting a guy who barely played (right) tackle in college, couldn't crack the lineup despite the team having the worst interior in the league, and was a disaster last year at left tackle, is a good idea.
is really coming on. I know their LT is also a backup, but Burns has played well the last few weeks. Pity we are wasting such fine defense with such a pathetic offense. We lead the league in sacks with 27, but are lucky to score 14 points a game.
is going to have to mix a run heavy offense with Rodgers esque short and intermediate throws. Some of these playcalls with a bad LT and a weak minded QB are bananas.
I would make QB my top priority but I think I would draft for this defense to just add even more to it. I would use free agency to bring in veteran players on offense. Defense wins championships and can help a team with an average offense go further.
That was as uncompetitive a rep as I’ve seen in a long time. Daboll crazy if he brings ezeudu out for another series. If you have to move eleumenor to left and bring in someone for right, you do it
this team is first in the division and in competition for the one of the best teams in the NFC. Sucks that the hardest position to fill is the biggest need.
WTF? The guy threw into triple coverage because it was a free play. What SHOULD have happened their if Wandale truly understood the nuances of the game was to come back to the ball and force the contact with the DB to draw the flag.
Defense is decent, except for the last drive when the LB's lost outside contain.
The Offense is horrendous, but not just Jones at fault. The OL is incredibly bad, lead by the sieve Ezeudu. Everyone predicted that Ezeudu was going to get killed at tackle, but he apparently is STILL better than a healthy Neal.
mid Sept.
Ezeudu has take. ALL the backup snaps at LOT.
JE “strongly” prefers playing RT. This was the logical starting OL today.
Daboll’s game plan has been terrible. Run the FUCKING ball, establish the LOS and play action.
Plus, chip Sweat.
None of this is happening.
Are you even watching the game? Until that 50 yard run, he had only about 17 yards. They were absolutely stopping him. One guy blew that play.
Ojalari was not the only player that sucked on that last drive...secondary was nowhere on the play, and a hand off at the 4 yard line and the inside of our line sucked

Shut the fuck up, kindly.

Jones follows a bad throw by holding the ball way too long. He needs receivers to be more open than they usually are in the NFL before he will throw the ball. He looks lost when he drops back to pass.
Jones and Slayton two players whose play right there matches their careers and the Giants with both...How does Daboll keep rolling Jones out there? That was a pass that needed to be made and Jones throws an off target throw and Slayton does what Slayton does...
can't hold the edge. Two big plays and dipshit runs inside
to allow Barkley to go around the edge followed by another long run on virtually the same play.
And screw Jones. Pull his ass out. He just refuses to throw the ball. And then misses Slayton open by 10 yards in the middle of the field.

Go look at the replay. No one open. You want him to just throw it up for grabs?
we don't score before halftime, that means we will have scored seven points in the last six quarters at home. Daboll needs to do something to try and spark the team. That means benching Jones IMO.

fourth and three. Why wasn't McCloud given help? Why wasn't Flott playing Brown?

Cor'Dale Flott shaken up on that third down play. Eagles immediately go after replacement Nick McCloud on fourth-and-3 and AJ Brown beats him for a 41-yard TD.
Of control and right now it sure seems like it is headed that way..
I am beyond tired of this pathetic brand of football and honestly, I think Daboll needs to be on the hot seat too. This team for smart, tough and dependable is stupid, soft and inconsistent..

I hate Daniel Jones. I don't care what it takes to get him off the Giants roster. I don't care about the injury guarantee. A season ending injury is the only way to get him off the field so be it.
I don't even care if Lock and/or DeVito play even worse than Jones. Just get Jones out of here.
What in the flying F**K is wrong with the Mara's that they're letting this horrible QB destroy their entire organization. I get we're talking about 3rd generation nepo babies who have never worked a day in their lives and live in a fantasy bubble where everyone treat them like royalty but what does it takes to embarrass these idiots?
1) No contain on the Barkley run
2) That horrendous pass to a wide open Slayton - We always hear about Jones needing guys to be open; he can't throw them open. Well you can't be any more open than Slayton.
3) McCloud one on one with Brown.
watching this garbage, you deserve misery. Honestly, how could anyone care at this point?
I feel you.
My in laws are coming to NJ in a couple weeks and got Giants tickets thinking it would be fun to do together. $400 for 2 tickets for me and my wife. I’d rather flush it down the toilet.

so at least I'm getting paid. I won't bet against my teams when they're competitive, but one of the benefits of being a fan of a godawful team is at least making some money off of it. Probably the only benefit.
See it with Ezeudu. I'll be surprised if they make any change at QB right away. There is no spark, no juice to this offense and Daboll is designing the plays, the blocking schemes and calling the plays. This is his shit.
RE: Is it me or are the giants receivers just watching
I might give up and I am in my 40s and have never given up once. I don’t card if it’s Jones’s Fault or not, his skill set cannot succeed with this offense and we need to try someone else

He’s just not effective. This isn’t Pop Warner football. For whatever reason, he doesn’t put up points. Play Lock so we don’t get locked into paying Jones all that money next year.
Daniel Jones sucks so bad, Barkley doesn't move the needle for this offense.
If Mara is really that upset that Barkley is gone, maybe he should think that he hitched his horse to this walking disaster named Daniel Jones.
Barkley's performance today is irrelevant to the Giants and if ownership is reacting emotionally to this like some sort of referendum on the FO, we're so fucked.
Not this week, unless we instruct Jones and then Lock to fake injuries. But, Lock should start the 2nd half and DeVito should be the starter moving forward.
Has eclipsed my hate for the Eagles. Theyre a net negative. I enjoy being a Giants fan more in the offseason. Its more fun when they *dont* play. They ruin one day per week for 4.5 months every fall/winter. That's their contribution to our lives.
If you bench Jones now, he's done for the season. And it's likely Lock is even worst with this OL than Jones is. I think Daboll will not make a change until after the Steeler game, when it's official the season is over.

It’s all media related.

was OK last year for Seattle. They wanted to resign him. Why the reluctance to play him given how Jones has looked this year? Jones not only hasn't gotten better this year, he's regressed. In year six.
At this point, even a FG is good.
Daboll is the worst coach in the NFL. If NYG Fans stop paying to go to these miserable games, maybe Mara will finally find a coach who can design and coach an offense.
He needs to, especially if Eagles score again before the half…
Daboll won't answer questions, he'll say he has to look at the tapes. Hey Dab's, here's the story in a nutshell, you have a horrible starting QB with a non-existent OL.
You don't have to scrutinise the tapes in slo-mo, we fans see in live action.

Agree but that is the problem. Our president of football operations is more concerned about this rather than the real problems the team has.

It's absolutely pathetic. I love the Giants more than any other team in sports, but watching Jones destroy this team each season is too much to take each season.
guess AJ Brown fully extended arm is subtle. Too many penalties in the NFL. I hardly ever watch college but when I do it seems like there is such a better flow not having a penalty every other play.
Trust him for what. You have no timeouts on the 20. There is legit no play you can run there. Unless you just want to throw it through back of end zone for no reason. But you risk a Oline missing block and sack
It's absolutely pathetic. I love the Giants more than any other team in sports, but watching Jones destroy this team each season is too much to take each season.
Jones and the Clown who plays him: Daboll. The play design, play execution, offensive team discipline, and play calling are all aggravated by Jones' incompetence. Neither Jones nor Daboll belong in the NFL.

Agreed. College is a better brand of football IMO.
his offense basically scores no points. Is it even possible for the backup to do much worse? Last year both backups outperformed him. Lets go with the change already.
With his completely inconsistent style of coaching. Daniel Campbell, good or bad, will call things consistently game after game and Daboll isn't even consistent in a single game. You never know when or why he decides to take chances and other times coaches like a pussy! I hate everything about this team right now- just so damn frustrating.

Mara + DJ - the love that date not speak its name.
He abandoned his risk taking when he realised the limits of his inept QB, yet Schoen did such a piss poor job acquiring a backup QB who'd give Jones some competition, that we have to sit here watching Jones give away games at home every fucking time he plays in MetLife! Lock is putrid, and that's where Schoen went as his only choice.
Time for Schoen to be on the hot seat.
would cut McCloud after this game and promote Green.
The defense hasn't been that bad. They lost contain on the Barkley run, and McCloud was beaten, but that was more on Bowen not giving him help against Brown. Lawrence and Burns have been terrific.
The offense can't go anywhere. Ezeudu and frankly the whole OL have been awful, but Jones is just atrocious. He's been under pressure, but is holding the ball too long and is inaccurate. Being a tough guy doesn't excuse bad play. Not in year six. He's killing the team.
While having a great WB in Simms. Daboll will not budge off Jones at all?! Even to provide us a spark? A change of pace? A new look? I’m starting to think it’s not only Jones.
We cant run the ball. How do you pass when a defense is not concerned one iota with your ground game? Receivers seem to stand around when Jones scrambles. This whole offense is dysfunctional including the play calling.

Lawrence Tynes
@lt4kicks
5 rushing attempts by the Giants in the first half? All Pro LT is out and we are nearly 3 to 1 pass/run. Don’t get it.
I said that last week too. Tracy had a great game and then he basically abandon s the run.
It’s not just the pass/run imbalance. Calling several 5 step drops for Jones.
As a coach, you have to assume Ezeudu is going to get shredded. Commit to the run, give him help in pass blocking, roll Jones out, and stick to the quick hitters
If they don’t work, fine, but expecting Jones to hold up under pressure is guaranteed to fail
This leadership group would rather go 2-15 than to have to deal with a QB “controversy” and all that comes with it in the big bad media. It’s why they didn’t sign a decent backup that may have threatened poor little Daniels job security. There isn’t going to be a QB change unless Jones is injured. Which of course, everyone on the planet knows is the worst case scenario except for this stupid ass organization
They had one play where we slipped and got faked out and another where Brown clearly committed OPI. Besides that it has been pretty bad, not catastrophic bad like us, but not impressive at all
We cant run the ball. How do you pass when a defense is not concerned one iota with your ground game? Receivers seem to stand around when Jones scrambles. This whole offense is dysfunctional including the play calling.
I just don’t think fans of this franchise can stomach watching Daniel Jones any longer. There is zero enjoyment in it anymore.
do the best he can with DJ at QB, and they will change things next year. Just the way that Daboll seems resigned in the pressers, its like he is just doing what he was told. I think this proves to everyone that DJ is the issue, better OL, better WR corp, its Jones
Like not as far as athleticism goes and running the ball but just not doing anything except making bad mistakes?
No comparison. Warner was able to throw TD's at home. He also had a bad OL, and his WR's never got open. Plus, he was still recovering from the battering he took in St. Louis.
Jones will NEVER reach the playing ability of Kurt Warner. Even when he was bad, he wasn't this bad.
I just don't want to watch Jones play for this team anymore.I would rather watch someone else go out there and at least try, even if they lose. I'm tired of watching him as QB for this team.
To stop throwing passes to the 5'9 receiver that is surrounded by at least 3 defenders, all of whom are a split second away from making a play on said receiver.
Robinson and Slayton have been horrible this year in dropping balls! Giants are #2 in dropped balls this year....with jones being so bad, and WRs dropping passes, offense is offensive!
Yes Robinson could have caught it, but Jones throws the same 2 passes
repeatedly. Everyone knows its coming, he doesn't look anywhere else. In that specific case it hit Robinson, but he was surrounded by 2 guys and they made it a contested catch. Surely if Jones looked somewhere else, as a normal QB would do, somebody was more open.
To stop throwing passes to the 5'9 receiver that is surrounded by at least 3 defenders, all of whom are a split second away from making a play on said receiver.
The whole league knows DJ is going to throw it there, even I know it. Every single throw is contested because its so predictable, he never looks anywhere else
Robinson is like averaging a drop a game…so over this team
You really cant afford to have both Slayton and Robinson dropping balls and killing drives. Outside of poor qb play, I think this is the teams #1 issue.

I can't decide if some of you just don't understand the game or if blaming world hunger on Jones is just what you do. Yes he's not part of the solution but there's a lot more problems than him going on here.

How do you know what it would look like without jones. All I know is last year our backups looked better than Jones did and I have suspicion it wouldn’t matter
That's not going to be credited as a drop, the defender knocked the ball out.
Lol! The blinders are strong with this one. It was a fucking drop! Even an average WR can catch contested balls at least SOME of the time. But when you’re a body catcher like him and slayton, the good plays are (very) few and (very) far between.

Tommy DeVito clearly outplayed Jones last year. (As did Taylor.)
When you forego a certain 3 points to add another 7, you are not afraid of your opponents' offense. Nobody respects the Giants offense and for good reason. Averaging 1-2 points a quarter.

How do you know what it would look like without jones. All I know is last year our backups looked better than Jones did and I have suspicion it wouldn’t matter
Tommy DeVito clearly outplayed Jones last year. (As did Taylor.) [/quote
So the guys with their jobs on the line are playing Jones when it's clear to everyone that Cutlets is better just to piss you and Essex off Mike.
This team is one hot mess.
Just watching them is just so disheartening.
And to make matters worse just don’t see it turning for the better at all going forward. Have lost all confidence with the entire organisation.
I don’t like to turn off games but considering watching
The loser QB you’ve supported hasn’t thrown a TD at home since 2022, primarily because he can only move the ball 4 yards at a time.
They passed a TD before halftime and it was negated by the OPI. Jones isn't playing well but he's not the only one and the HC continues to be outcoached and out-schemed. Jones should be benched because they are about to be 2-5 and their offense can't move and when they do make plays, their make continuous errors. Bad discipline. Teams with bad discipline have bad HC's. I don't care if it's Lock or DeVito if Daboll keeps having the same mental errors week in and week out.
With the NYG. It’s the one thing that has persisted from the “good times”. I would not be upset at all if we won today. That being said, we’ll be the Philly get right game. They’re not good at all, but will look it today…
Get right game, indeed.
All that money Schoen spent in FA…empty dollars…

changing head coaches is a bad formula, keeping bad head coaches is a bad formula......The draft picks have been eh, the scouts seem mediocre, so is the GM...Coach...this is the Cleveland Browns of the 80's

You very well know that the decision is not purely "who is better right now." And although DeVito outplayed Jones last year, I'm not even sure he's better, tbh. But at some point I think they need to try something different.
They won't bench Jones even though he hasn't thrown a TD at home since 2022, and the Giants will be 1-10 against Dallas and Philadelphia under Schoen and Daboll.
Daboll is losing the locker room by not benching Jones, especially the defensive players. He's as bad as Judge right now.
The problem is his limitation intellectually. Any coach who has "to learn" to have a backup K or P when the starter is hurting does not have a great deal of candlepower to begin with. Yelling at the QB you choose to play is not good coaching.

Of course because justifying the $ does so much more for the team than actually winning would. Brilliant!
At people in this thread doing the whole “Jones isn’t the whole problem!” thing. Exactly the kind of stuff that’s about to get his 3rd coach fired.
So write back to me. Do you disagree the team has had issues with penalties and unforced errors? Brand new LT and try to pass pass pass like you're coaching the 1992 Buffalo Bills.
The fact that we didn’t try fo run the ball more is criminal

Don't be a moron. It 100% has everything to do with it. If he were a 3rd round pick making backup money, do you think he would still be playing?
But the issue this year is that despite all the efforts, we have NO competent backups on the OL. Neal is a bust, and Ezeudu can't play tackle. JMS hasn't progressed.
Until the OL is at least brought up to NFL AVERAGE, the team will continue to stink, no matter who is at QB. I like the current OL coach, but you can only do so much with garbage talent.

On how they think of the giants offense. They know they can go for it in 4th down anytime, anywhere on the field because there’s zero concern giants will move the ball. Thats the saddest part of all this. Zero respect. And it’s well earned
Anybody know what the team record is for sacks allowed

Losing AT killed this season.
The OL has been awful this week. What was Jones excuse the other weeks when they played well?
is likely using the atrocious OL play to justify his apparent belief that Jones is not responsible for this embarrassing debacle. The OL has been atrocious, but so has Jones. And Jones has been awful for six years.
Unfortunately the problems are even more serious. Daboll cannot put a quality product on the field. The players selected to play in his system haven’t been developed or utilized effectively

You realize you can pick 35 random QBs out a lineup who could fall assbackward into throwing a TD at home in six games?
(I didn't read all the posts) but, when the Eagles coaching staff read that the Giants lead the league in sacks .... they said "okay - stop the run(?)"
He justified not signing Barkley to put resources into improving the O-line. It looks terrible for him today. I did agree with the decision though, but it doesn't look good for him right now.
I'm glad Schoen saved the $2M per year on Barkely so he could gift it to no-show Burns. At least Barkley can experience some real success in his career. He'll be remembered as an Eagle.
Team has been awful. We knew Barkley would come in and try to prove himself, but this is ridiculous now. Defense seems like it’s just giving up now. 0 passing TDs at home this year OMFG! After 4 games
I hope that he does. The only way you get changes in this organization is when there is absolutely NO argument for the status quo.
I have said this before, Mara's real job is marketing. He will never admit it, but that is his primary concern with winning a close second.
If there is a chance to sell hope with the current structure, then that is what he would prefer to do. If he feels he is losing the ability to sell, then he will make a change that will dupe the fans into believing again.
for AT, the Giants haven't drafted a good OL for 10 years. And AT is hurt all the time. Other teams fix their OL in a year or two. We couldn't fix ours in a decade.
Or no. Or course he isn’t. Giants are just a lost franchise. Know the difference.
He's a loser who jumped ship from a losing franchise
You sound like a loser. The kid a a very good player playing in a bad team and represented well. He is kicking our ass right now and all I can do I laugh. Not sure exactly why they couldn’t get a long term deal done but it doesn’t matter much now
Fire Daboll
Fire Schoen
Make Ryan Cowden the interim GM
Hire Vrabel as the HC
Kafka makes the calls on offense
AND BENCH DANIEL JONES
I think we really have to be honest with ourselves:
Why would Vrabel or particularly Belichick want to coach here?
They wouldn't. This is a shit job. We need to get off of our high horse thinking this is a "dream job". This is where coaches and GMs come to kill their careers.

LOL, this team is more than Saquon Barkley away from being a competitive team.
I have to believe that sooner or later drafting high in every round - the Giants will eventually find the right coaching staff to motivate a talented team?
of a team. They know there is no way they can score any points, now the D has packed it in. Daboll needs to change QB's, Jones has lost the team and Daboll will too if he sticks with Jones
Yeah right. People overreacting to the Barkley game. Let's see how he holds up. When he was here people were ripping him for being injured a lot, not being able to pass block, he's gone, was a good move.
They have a terrible QB and they are not prepared. This product is an embarrassment to the history of this franchise and not a product worth watching. After 50 years as a fan I have reached the status of who cares. They can be like the knicks. I will casually follow if they make the playoffs.
Fucking waste of space.. I want nothing to do with a loser who plays with that effort, that lack of care and lack of toughness. Good bye Banks, I think you are the new Adore Jackson...
Question, when a team sucks like this why don’t they throw Hail Marys every fucking play. What does it matter? He could bootleg every time and just chuck it. Our odds would be just as good.
I know everyone is cheering a fire everyone but not sure I am thrilled about another clean sweep of this organization.
Daboll obviously needs to go and should be fired by the end of the year
About the Giants run game and run defense. I wonder what will happen to these stats after today’s game with the Eagles? Oh, well, can’t fall much further down.
*******************************************************************
It's still relatively early in the season (just 6 games in) but the rushing stats are not anywhere close to where they need to be for the Giants to play winning football.
Yards per Carry
Offense 3.87 (29th)
Defense 5.25 (31st)
Net Differential -1.38 (32nd)
than our offense has points, a complete joke. Daboll stinks as a coach and play caller and he is nothings without Allen as his QB. Did nothing at his other stops.
Fucking waste of space.. I want nothing to do with a loser who plays with that effort, that lack of care and lack of toughness. Good bye Banks, I think you are the new Adore Jackson...
The radio says that Nabers did not run through his pattern if he isn't the target for that play. They may have been saying that about one pattern instead of all. Has anyone else noticed Nabers not running through his route?
problem is that Daboll likely pulled Jones to save him for next week, not because he's been playing like shit. The proof is that he didn't pull him at halftime when the game was still within reach. He knows the game is lost, so why risk your starting QB for next week? Jones will start against the Steelers.

So don't expect a better option behind him.
Jones is the best QB we have on the roster and that's where we are as a franchise.
Devito is crash and has been since Syracuse
that this gets us closer to our next QB are lost. The next draft class is extremely weak. And there are only a select few quality starting QBs in the NFL for a reason. Just because Jones will be gone absolutely doesn't mean we upgrade. Something is wrong with this organizations football philosophy. A decade of mediocrity/horrible football play tells the tale.
The Giants were 2-4 when Thomas got hurt. They would have lost this game with Thomas playing.
Exactly... the insanity in here is contagious.
Yep, they would have lost this game, because Jones is horrific. But at least they might have had some ability to run the ball, and give the QB extra time to throw so we'd see the ghost of a real NFL offense.
Again, Jones needs to sit. He's done. But there are just too many other issues now to fix besides the QB position. This is a team who's broken.
I don’t wanna pay Jones one more dollar than I have to in 2025. But I’m just saying don’t have high expectations.
Best thing for the long term health of this franchise — play the last 10 games with Lock or DeVito. Go 4-13 or whatever. Fire Schoen/Daboll. Hire either Vrabel or BB. Get your QB in April.

You gotta at least give it a shot, can't keep passing on drafting QB's because you think none are worthy.

Unbelievable lack of courage. Just move forward and wrap up.

Well the fact the your first and third sentences contradict themselves would indicate that you're the idiot. Once Jones is "gone absolutely", we will be on to the next QB.
I know you are kidding but he’s coming off a concussion that took him 2 weeks to get back. Why is he in a non-winnable game w a back up QB in . Makes no sense.
I dont care who the coach or GM are for players individually to quit is shameful and unprofessional.
Any player that did not put forth maximum effort should be benched.
This is the effort you get when you have a players coach like Daboll. We need a hard nosed coach. We need a GM who is good at drafting and Schoen has proven he is not good at drafting
Let’s cheer fir your Locke or even better lets ask why not get DeVito into the game. LOL
I've been a DJ hater for a long time and I'm proud of it.
He's never been an NFL level starter. He's astoundingly ordinary. The talent is just not there. His main achievement is getting coaches fired.
Do you seriously want to have a go at people you refer to as "Daniel Jones haters?"
There's absolutely nothing to like about him as a quarterback.
Because I want a Giants perspective...the networks dont provide that....I have grown disgusted listening to the homerism...Papa wining about where we are with the division record.......Pleasse stop the nonsense..I know they are paid by the Giants, but when you ignore the obvious...Daboll..Jones....etc.....the quit, the laCK OF intensity and urgency.......
Thank Goodness For The Mets & Yankees Post Seasons
As it currently stands, very true.
That's yet another reason why JJ McCarthy (or Pennix maybe even Nix) would have been the correct draft pick.
I was fine taking Nabers, but said at the time that I would have taken JJM. I had non interest in Nix or Penix at six. But after we took Nabers, I would have taken Spencer Rattler in the fourth round.
Another problem is that there was never an open competition between Jones and Lock in training camp for the starting job. Jones was just anointed the starter. Lock was decent with Seattle last year. They wanted to resign him. Having an open competition might have allowed Lock to win the job, and if so, we might have beaten Washington, Dallas, and Cincinnati.
I've seen some really bad teams in that uniform over the years, but this current team and Daniel Jones in particular are the worst I've ever seen.
I don't want to ever see Jones in a game again, and I think it's time to part company with Schoen/Daboll.
Michael Lombardi will have a field day on Monday. He probably won't get round to talking about anything else.
Hating the Giants is his favourite subject, and we make it easy for him.
thought he should be on the roster. Oh and the OL coach as well. So far this season they have been a pleasant surprise. Let's see if they go with him again next week.
I don’t know who will win, but I am pretty sure this will not be an “instant classic” replaying on NFL Network this week.
That’s last nights tacos you’re feeling in your gut

To me the X factor is if Eagles offense is able to make plays. If they do and Kellen Moore doesn’t call a dumb game, we are going to lose
If he looks nervous about not having Thomas or is just off (like last week) early on, might as well turn the game off.
Keys:
Giants defense must keep 1st down gains to a min- force Eagles into more predictable play calls.
Keep the pressure on Hurts by rushing strong from outside but not out of control. Box him in- no mistakes like against Bengals.
Giants offense must play up tempo. Keep the Eagles from situational substitutions- Keep the pressure on.
No turnovers!!
Remember when Tyrod torched Eagles last year ? So so long ago .
We have no idea how Ezeuda will play. Unless you’re one of those guys under the impression that young players never get better and if they struggle as a rookie they just suck forever
I still think Philly is a 'good team,' although not like the 2022 version.

@JordanRaanan
2. a right guard with experience at right tackle.
3. a veteran guard
4. a massive defensive tackle to help stop the run.
We got the right guard/tackle and the veteran guard. We got an edge rusher instead of the defensive tackle.
Now we have no decent backup at left tackle.
As always, it’ll come dow to whether our offense can score points. Hopefully Malik helps with that.

He's with the first-team next to LG Jon Runyan Jr. in warmups.
I’d give him another extension.
If they give Ezeudu help, it will make it that much more difficult for us. Using an eligible to block sucks

we lose by 14. Ezeudu won't be as bad as he was last year, and the Giants will smartly give him help.

True, but hopefully Nabers returning will offset that to some extent.
+1
Daboll special.
Just use Robinson as a decoy.
He had Dean bearing down on him and couldn’t make a better throw.
Would have been tackled immediately. Another designed play call short of the sticks.
I call it the Daboll Special.
We’ve got Warren Moon at QB.
One other note, I hate all the college bs motion which seems to fool nobody!!!
That too. And no, we saw versus Cincinnati he doesn't want to.
It was designed to throw to him. Other WR we’re blocking
We'll be doing that either way.
Forced it to Malik.
Had other options there
He’s so god awful.
He got a chip and still couldn't block his guy for one second
He’s sooo freaking risk averse now. If he doesn’t see a receiver running free he waits!
Can anyone on D play QB?
Bricillo is a great OL coach, but he's not the Amazing Kreskin
Are you serious. He got a chip thinking he had time to throw and his LT couldn't block a chipped lineman for one second
On max protect you expect to have time
Right. So get the QB under C and utilize a run game with PA pass. He knows he has a limited QB so what’s with the approach?
The check down to Robinson is literally half our plays passing plays this season. Wan’Dale is the Daniel jones of slot receivers
Agreed that’s what saw too. He didn’t even scan any part of the field.
Not sure why people think starting a guy who barely played (right) tackle in college, couldn't crack the lineup despite the team having the worst interior in the league, and was a disaster last year at left tackle, is a good idea.
Just like Jalen Hurts. Neither team is very good and neither QB is.
They ain’t talking.
Quote:
avoid the rush there. Ezedeu is at fault but Jones just froze straight into the sack.
Just like Jalen Hurts. Neither team is very good and neither QB is.
Jayden Daniels is the best QB in the division already.
I think he had one carry for no gain.
Only if he finds a QB and fast.
Good question. But after 10 years, I'm inclined to say that for the Giants it's "mission impossible."

You misspelled Ezeudu
Well, they have the worst LT in the NFL...mainly because he isn't a LT.
Guy has been a shitty OL for years now.
Offense has no rhythm. Let's get it fixed, Daboll.
Let's stop the experiment before Jones gets killed again.
And Neal is going to cost it.
Like on roller skates

Year 3 of the Josh Ezeudu at OT experiment, too. It doesn't work yet Daboll keeps trying it.
Holy shitfuck!
Wink was doing it last year. He couldn’t stand Daboll’s O.
It would be too much of a statement.
Maybe third quarter if Jones sucks the whole game.
Will he make Ezepoo a better LT?!
Van Roten.
Scared that Ezuedu will get Jones hurt. Can't afford DJ getting hurt.

Wtf are they thinking?!

Yes, we can't afford Jones getting hurt. So let's running designed quarterback runs.
Daboll has been using Ezeudu practice at OT since rookie mini camp.
Dexter and the boys playing great, so far. Daboll and his offense still seeping.
Maybe Ezeudu is really good, but he just hates DJ because Duke/UNC? Haha
I lot of their line is breaking down
The defense is so great. If we had a qb.
They always play great. Can't remember the last time someone scored over 21 on us.

I think there’s a rather likely chance that this is Daniel Jones final home start.
And I’m not a hater.
We were 2-4 with Thomas starting, wasn't like the season was going swimmingly.

Sure, you get personal satisfaction for the move, but two weeks later you have someone new to complain about.

Interesting idea.
How about the Atlantic Ocean?
Hurts is a major contributor to the malaise.
People remember Orlovsky killing DJ after the Seattle game last season. He also said the SAME EXACT THINGS about Hurts after their Jets game in 2023.
OL is fucking awful.
I think Daboll is answering everyone's questions about Neal. If Neal is healthy, and can't play, he stinks.
If that’s the case no way will we have $ next year to sign someone like Stafford.
OL is fucking awful.
Some of these idiots don’t watch the game at all
Their own fault too. The coaches and Schoen.
OL is fucking awful.
Who cares? He’s terrible too and part of the problem.

I've got not interest in any OL excuse. This team isn't 2-4 because of the OL.

The OL sucking and Jones sucking are not mutually exclusive.
WTF? The guy threw into triple coverage because it was a free play. What SHOULD have happened their if Wandale truly understood the nuances of the game was to come back to the ball and force the contact with the DB to draw the flag.
Van Roten got beaten cleanly right up the middle on that play too.
Then say so, because it looks like the alternative is that hes a 340 lb Mr Bean.
Might only need 3
We need a more creative offensive game plan- this is a joke
It's a shame that we're likely going to waste another great defensive effort.
Jones probably never sees it anyway if it was blocked up

You can't put Neal in, he's WORST than Ezeudu at this point. If he wasn't, he'd be starting.
Face facts, Neal is a bust, at least at tackle.

Same old offense. Our offensive line has been worse than usual.
What have I missed?

yes
Are you even watching the game? Until that 50 yard run, he had only about 17 yards. They were absolutely stopping him. One guy blew that play.

Excuses are running out for him.
Maybe it's time we stop blaming the negative posters. "But 2022!" Fuck 2022. That season fucked the organization.

They signed a bust former first round pick from another team and moved him to guard where he’s at least serviceable.
Giants might wanna try the latter part
What have I missed?
Defense is decent, except for the last drive when the LB's lost outside contain.
The Offense is horrendous, but not just Jones at fault. The OL is incredibly bad, lead by the sieve Ezeudu. Everyone predicted that Ezeudu was going to get killed at tackle, but he apparently is STILL better than a healthy Neal.
??? It was 8-25 before that one run for 55 yards.

Nabors was open on a curl to the right. Jones never looked that way. Nabors immediately gestures to the sideline when the play is over.
to allow Barkley to go around the edge followed by another long run on virtually the same play.
And screw Jones. Pull his ass out. He just refuses to throw the ball. And then misses Slayton open by 10 yards in the middle of the field.
Not watching again until Jones is pulled.
Please get rid of both of them. They are both clueless.

We really need to figure out what we have in him. Like, once and for all. It takes 100 games or so these days.

Easy to take 4th down shots when you're playing a team with no offense.

@lt4kicks
5 rushing attempts by the Giants in the first half? All Pro LT is out and we are nearly 3 to 1 pass/run. Don’t get it.
We better get these clowns out of here and bring in Vrabel.
Agreed. What else can you say?
I don’t care who the players are. They’ve got most of their starting O on the field that’s been practicing all year together.
This is what you come up with? 100% in over his head. They fired the guy who has an actual clue what he’s doing.

It was a clear push off on Johnson. That’s how he got open. Brown was already open.
Time for Schoen to be on the hot seat.

No problem. We’ve got Warren Moon at QB. Let’s just wing the ball around out of the shotgun.
we always had that we werent the worst QB situation in the nfl.....that was the browws.

It’s actually sad. They have an excellent coach and defense and are paying a non-contributor $50mm per.
Four yards rushing in the first half.

I said that last week too. Tracy had a great game and then he basically abandon s the run.

Right.. because Wink's defense played at as high of a level as this year's defense.

I don't think so. It isn't just that one play. He gets targeted and burned too many times.
Like not as far as athleticism goes and running the ball but just not doing anything except making bad mistakes?
Lol
Cleveland wouldn’t accept that.
I just don’t think fans of this franchise can stomach watching Daniel Jones any longer. There is zero enjoyment in it anymore.
Even when he was bad, he wasn't this bad.
hes not a first division player.
Yeah, going to have to disagree on that one
[img]
Next drive for sure!
They are both body catchers. Always have been.
hes not a first division player.
He drafts players to fit the offense. Wan'Dale is a Brian Daboll pick.
My thought as well. The defenders get paid to make plays too
Which wide receivers are going to still drop the ball when another quarterback shows up.
Which lineman are still going to watch guys run right past them.
How conservative will the offensive game plan and play calling still be .
I think keeping Jones in is actually hindering us evaluating everyone else.
A first down is something to strive for
The whole league knows DJ is going to throw it there, even I know it. Every single throw is contested because its so predictable, he never looks anywhere else
He let the ball get to his chest.
We have WRs who don’t like catching the balls with their hands. Amazing isn’t it?

We're third in the MFL in drops.
One dimensional.
It was a 1st down if held on. JFC
Jeez at that point, will any of us be rooting for a win? That will be the kiss of death for our draft position
Not at all, I don’t think he’s worth big money at all, giants just suck.
He's almost always outcoached. If we had a decent coach, this would be a different team. We would have more than 3 points over 2.5 quarters.
Just turn the sound off. It's not like the announcers will add anything.
How do you know what it would look like without jones. All I know is last year our backups looked better than Jones did and I have suspicion it wouldn’t matter
Lol! The blinders are strong with this one. It was a fucking drop! Even an average WR can catch contested balls at least SOME of the time. But when you’re a body catcher like him and slayton, the good plays are (very) few and (very) far between.

Get right game, indeed.
All that money Schoen spent in FA…empty dollars…
This. What is there to lose?
We should have a fire sale tomorrow...

0-4 at home
And…the division stinks this year..we’re gonna finish “comfortably” in last place…
Quote:
move on.

The problem is his limitation intellectually. Any coach who has "to learn" to have a backup K or P when the starter is hurting does not have a great deal of candlepower to begin with. Yelling at the QB you choose to play is not good coaching.
Tip the wait staff, I'm here all week.

When you pay a shitty player so much money, you have to play the shitty player to justify the expense.
Of course because justifying the $ does so much more for the team than actually winning would. Brilliant!
So write back to me. Do you disagree the team has had issues with penalties and unforced errors? Brand new LT and try to pass pass pass like you're coaching the 1992 Buffalo Bills.
And a lot of money saved not bothering to watch this hot mess in person.

Unfortunately the problems are even more serious. Daboll cannot put a quality product on the field. The players selected to play in his system haven’t been developed or utilized effectively
But yeah, I don't think heads are going to roll tomorrow...

The absolute worse outcome has happened, Jones sucked, the offense didn't score and Barkley went off.. This is a bad day for Schoen, Daboll and Mara!!
And for Giants fans...depressed

Denver in the snow, good callback!

He sucks also.
What did you expect? To come in cold and score a touchdown on the first run? Yes, he is not that good; we are screwed at the qb.
The whole QB room sucks, that was the point of trying to draft one.
Jones is the best QB we have on the roster and that's where we are as a franchise.
Devito is crash and has been since Syracuse

lol minor detail
People need to learn the rule. They can't use DeVito. Christ, how difficult is that to understand?

Nobody is going to look good with Thomas out against a good defense. People wanted a change before this happened to see what he could do.

could we get for Sexy right now?
He deserves to be on a winner, at least.
I know this isn’t serious, right? The only freaking guy on this team that plays at a All Pro level!
He's my favorite player, but he's Joe Thomas right now. Great, uber talented player surrounded by a bad team and HC's.
Jones and Lock have to be hurt and out of the game. DeVito is the Emergency QB.

So let’s make the team worse?

I am genuinely curios what posters think we could get if we offered Sexy in the open market.
Not sure why that would bother you or others.
No man.. Daboll believes the game is out of reach and Jones took enough hits today. Wait for the post game press conference. You will see.

Two straight seasons over once he got hurt.
Best thing for the long term health of this franchise — play the last 10 games with Lock or DeVito. Go 4-13 or whatever. Fire Schoen/Daboll. Hire either Vrabel or BB. Get your QB in April.
The Eagles beat the piss out of him today.
He had no impact today. He can easily be doubled when you cannot run the ball
You gotta at least give it a shot, can't keep passing on drafting QB's because you think none are worthy.
Fucking waste of space.. I want nothing to do with a loser who plays with that effort, that lack of care and lack of toughness. Good bye Banks, I think you are the new Adore Jackson...
Unbelievable lack of courage. Just move forward and wrap up.
@BigBlueInter
It's not just that the #Giants lost today.
They quit.
At home.
Against a division rival.
With more than half the season left to play.
to be fair Locke hasn't had much warm-up.
Improved Oline
Daboll calling plays
3 points!!!
Time to move on
I expected this to happen.
Nabers knows he is on a very poor offense. Talented WR's can be prima donnas. I'm not surprised he can't be arsed.
28 3 it would seem. And don't forget this is a pretty lousy Eagles team.
Because he's a DAWG and a huge difference maker.
28-3
Well the fact the your first and third sentences contradict themselves would indicate that you're the idiot. Once Jones is "gone absolutely", we will be on to the next QB.
They aren't mathematically eliminated.
So, the band will play on...

Nabers out there?

He's a weapon for Daniel.

Seattle did was cost us a shot at the top of the draft.
They have 2 wins, and idk that they'll win more than 1-2 more. We'll still be picking top 5 if we have 4 wins.
We will be fine in the 2025 draft. If we need to move 1-2 spots it won't cost us much(?) because we will be in the top 5 already.
I'm not hearing great things on Saturday threads...
Bored for ward?

Wait, Jones benched? That has to be it for him here.
No man.. Daboll believes the game is out of reach and Jones took enough hits today. Wait for the post game press conference. You will see.
This. Daboll still has him as the #1 QB. It's not about replacing him, it's about letting him survive for the next game. Don't y'all get your hopes up

I know you are kidding but he’s coming off a concussion that took him 2 weeks to get back. Why is he in a non-winnable game w a back up QB in . Makes no sense.
I agree. I believe he played the entire pre-season.
Hate the incompetence not the player. Cute try though.
Failin’ for Jalen?
We traded up for him too!
Quote:
Let’s cheer fir your Locke or even better lets ask why not get DeVito into the game. LOL

No it’s the incompetence of the Giants Fans
I dont care who the coach or GM are for players individually to quit is shameful and unprofessional.
Any player that did not put forth maximum effort should be benched.
This is the effort you get when you have a players coach like Daboll. We need a hard nosed coach. We need a GM who is good at drafting and Schoen has proven he is not good at drafting
There's absolutely nothing to like about him as a quarterback.
well.
Add to this going into this season with Ezeudu as the backup LOT.
Complimentary football. All three phases in sync, playin in unison towards a common goal.
You know, NYG
Very catchable? Come on. It would have been a great catch.
Oh, by the way, you're a moron.
"Proud of Daniel, he competed"
"Hyatt has a leg"
Without question. DJ can't zip it like an NFL QB should.
"Proud of Daniel, he competed"
"Hyatt has a leg"
“The effort was there.”
“We need to execute.”
Yep, going the Barkley route of wasting his talent
You could have stopped at "They've given up"
Daboll says, hold my Tetley's
That’s bad, but offense only scored 3 points and 0 TDs at home! Can’t win when you can’t score.
Why try and block a punt at this point in the game? Idiotic.
As it currently stands, very true.
That's yet another reason why JJ McCarthy (or Pennix maybe even Nix) would have been the correct draft pick.
Sure, only 3 onside kicks and 500 5 yard completions to go ahead.
At every level, can't make it up, a complete joke
So he is to football like Happy Gilmore is to hockey?
We got destroyed at home by Sirianni and his ISIS Eagles and Barkley ran wild.
At every level, can't make it up, a complete joke

I read here last week that we were a qb away from contending!
What a fucking joke.
"Proud of Daniel, he competed"
"Hyatt has a leg"
I get it but if we get a good QB the fortunes of this team changes dramatically!

is wasted on this team.

I don't want to ever see Jones in a game again, and I think it's time to part company with Schoen/Daboll.
We keep bouncing off rock bottom, only to return.
embarssing.
Michael Lombardi will have a field day on Monday. He probably won't get round to talking about anything else.
Hating the Giants is his favourite subject, and we make it easy for him.
Fuck this "classy" bullshit.
We're a racist organization who hates black quarterbacks.
Just lovely.
And the RT and rest of line was bad today. Ezedeu is really bad.Too bad Neal hasn’t panned out. This is That 70s Show
