He'll/ we'll have a little over half a season to see what he can do.
We do have a great defense, some offensive weapons. A halfway decent QB and we might have an inspired team. How long can you play with a QB like Jones and not loose inspiration. Look no further than BBI to see what it's done to the fanbase, imagine being a players.
We kept Jones over Barkley. Piss poor player management and evaluations.
Time too move on.
DAL will be looking for a coach too. Possibly the Eagles. He’ll have options.
Belichick practically starts weeping every time he walks in the building and tours the lockerroom. He's in love with this organization. Thirty-something years ago, a short-sighted front office passed him over to replace Parcells, and I think it's driven him ever since.
I think bringing him back would be, at best, a big risk. Coughlin was 69 when we collectively decided he didn't have it anymore. Belichick turns 73 next spring. At some point, everyone loses their fastball. We get sick of firing coaches every 2-3 years - this guy is basically showing up with a sell-by date stamped on his forehead.
And as loyal a guy as John Mara is, he won't make up his mind to cut the cord with Belichick until a couple years past the point where it's become obvious to everyone.

He weeps because he shed blood here but he was also considered not HC material and has rumored to have warned people to stay away from the org in recent times. He’s a control freak - do you really see him coming here?
There’s a reason the Giants keep hiring nobodies at HC. It’s the talent pool available to them given the circumstances.
Get him a GM he knows, his track record doing both is no good
100% how I feel too.
It is a recipe for disaster and something that Mara will jump at the chance to do.

Which is why I expect Mara to do it.

What does it matter? We are stuck in the mud. Might as well swing for the fences.
