is the one I am quickly losing hope for. Still to early to conclude, but was hoping to see more improvement from him than what we have so far.
PFF itself does not characterize a 60 score as average
shyster : 10/21/2024 12:10 pm : link
This is their own characterization:

Quote:
The PFF rating system works like this:

100-90 Elite
89-85 Pro Bowler
84-70 Starter
69-60 Backup
59-0 Replaceable

What the actual "average" PFF score is would require a statistical analysis.

Individual game scores, which are based on play grades, do not directly yield PFF player scores for the whole season. There is a re-ranking process that takes into account how much or little a player plays for the season.

PFF starts every game with every starter at 60.

Then goes + and - on each subsequent play. So I consider 60 to be fairly neutral.

Same. So much for the "high floor, low ceiling" draft pick. That's a pretty saggy floor!
Almost no one gets above a 90

Even Dex. 90 is like top 5 in the league and 95+ is first ballot hall of famer.

That just means it is expected that all players - based on their system - will accrue points more easily than they will lose them. Believing something one point removed from their lowest rating category is neutral is your error.
How can Jones have that high a grade
jeff57 : 10/21/2024 12:19 pm : link
Ridiculous
Chatman got a high score
cosmicj : 10/21/2024 12:28 pm : link
Very interesting.
I would rather rely
Gman11 : 10/21/2024 12:39 pm : link
on Sy's evaluation than PFF
It’s weird.

A lot of our promising draft picks seem to regress in year two. I wonder if this group will be the same.
Never trust PFF scores

Unrelated to these specific scores but thought this was

Evan Neal must have regressed significantly

If Ezeudu, arguably the worst blind side tackle I have ever seen, was the go to option for Bricillo. Another gaslighting special brought to you by the Giants coaching staff to protect the vaunted reputation of Joe Schoen...
Pass Blocking for the O-line & TEs rated good yesterday except...

JMS. How many "clean" games has he had - idk but he has given up 6 sacks, 5 hits, 35 hurries, and 46 pressures in his career.

Theo Johnson - 81.8
Jermaine Eluemunor - 76.6
Chris Manhertz - 74.5
Jon Runyan - 74.2
Greg Van Roten - 70.2
Joshua Ezeudu - 65.6
John Michael Schmitz - 30.7

JMS Career PB
2024 - 41.9
2023 - 26.9

Surprised to see Eluemunor rated that high, I thought he had a rough time pass protecting but I guess I saw wrong. He has been solid so far this season (with the exception of yesterday I thought).
