and hope he doesn’t accidentally win a game? Clearly, there’s no point running Jones back out there and risking injury/triggering the contract clause. Locke probably has more of a chance of accidentally winning a game or two.
Although tanking this year isn’t as valuable as it would have been last season, lining up the No. 1 or No. 2 pick in ‘25 either to select there or trade down and add draft capital seems prudent at this point.
For fans who still plan to watch the 10 games left on the schedule, Tommy Devito seems to at least add a measure of entertainment. Does anyone want to win 1-3 more games and end up in a less advantageous draft slot?
So, why not?
we can't play DeVito because we may win some games and we need to lose out... sorry (see Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels)
we can play Lock but he can give us a chance to win but since I'm not feeling it with him, he is the best choice for OUR future
2-Carolina (will seek a new QB)
3- Cleveland (will seek a new QB)
4-Tennessee (will seek a new QB)
5-NY jets (will seek a new QB)
6- New Orleans (will seek a new QB)
7- Jacksonville (will draft OL or OFF to help Trevor)
8- Las Vegas (will see a new QB)
9- NY Giants (right now, our position is awful...)

We will vault into the top 3-4 over the next month+. Then win enough meaningless games at the end of the season to knock us out of qb contention
Perhaps. But I have a feeling starting TD this year will have a ripple effect and most of the team will be quiet quitting
Let's assume, Schoen and Daboll are still here come draft time. What do they give away for a pick high enough to get a qb? Do they tried and pull a Minnesota and give a day 2 or 3 pick for someone's failed former #1, like Wilson in Denver? Sign a free agent like Fields, Darnold or Wilson?
Exactly. It’s in the Giants’ best interest to not win another game this year (and keep Jones healthy). Believe me, it hurts to feel this way. Last season, I was happy when the Giants went on that mini-run and even beat Philly in the finale. I brooded over the losses to the Jets and Rams.
In retrospect, I realize it would have been much better to be in position to draft Daniels or Maye. We’ve already seen Daniels take off. Maye sure looked very promising despite the loss yesterday. He made some sick throws we haven’t seen from JD since his rookie year debut against Tampa. Even in DJ’s good performance against Minny in that wildcard game win, he didn’t make the impressive deep throws Maye did yesterday.
We missed the boat in the last draft and who knows if there’s a worthy QB in the next one. But if not, I’d prefer the Giants be in the best possible position to fill one of several important needs.
We have reached the point where TDV might be the lesser of two evils. DJ is going to get hurt and then the Giants will be on the hook for his salary for 2025. It is imperative they part ways with DJ, which means he has to be on the bench. I assume Lock is first off the bench but I think TDV can get on the field, sure, why not.

We couldn't go from #6 to #3 this year with the current braintrust at the helm. So coming up from #9 will be near impossible.

I assume based on his #3 depth chart status, the NYG view him as a backup not franchise talent. Td’s 3 wins last year arguably hurt the NYG more than it helped. TD wins in 2024 would likely have the same result.

I'd argue the opposite. Jones inspires no one. Maybe a few players might play if there's a change at QB.
