Through 7 games, Lawrence has 9 sacks despite being double teamed on ~130 snaps.
Both of these stats (sacks + double teams) lead the league.
The next closest player in doubleteams (90) has only 4 sacks.
The next closest player in sacks (8) has only been doubleteamed 10 times.
Absurd production. I think getting a serviceable linemen to play next to him is one of the many priorities this offseason.

My goodness the defense would have been absolutely game-wrecking the pats 5 years.
Daboll won't do this since he may be on the hot seat, but I'd be super cautious with playing him if he has ANY sort of injury down the stretch.

By the time we can get good, he will be on the downside. He's already in year 6 himself and at 340 lbs. he isn't going to last much longer like this.

If I were Dex, I think I would demand a trade.
Agreed - depending on how this offseason goes.

I remember when that draft played out and he fell to #6 and I thought we had gotten a windfall.
But nope.
Rare player.
I don't think so. He may end up as one of the best NT ever?
I could be wrong on this, but I feel like W/L records don't matter as much for defensive players re: the HOF.
If he makes it, they should put his bust right next to Dick Butkus. The Bears' incompetency wasted his talents as well.
My goodness the defense would have been absolutely game-wrecking the past 5 years.
If you want to make yourself even crazier... in that scenario the Giants likely would have been in position to take Herbert in the draft the following year.
If you go by some numbers (defensive rank, and rush defense rank, wins) the Giants defense has not been that good with Lawrence. The Giants have only one winning season with Lawrence. Other players were labeled by some here as not being difference makers because the units they played on did not have good statistical rankings and the Giants were not winning. So, should Dexter be judged the same way?
