Random Garrett Nussmeier Stat:

Jon In NYC : 10/22/2024 9:03 am
He has been pressured on 22.3% of his 287 drop backs, 64 times in total. He has been sacked once this season:

Remember Michael Penix got a lot of love last draft cycle for having similar stats.
We should have drafted Penix.

That's awesome.

No one stat should ever be the end all, but this does point to potentially good decision making and the ability to know your offense and read defenses.

Has an awesome LT prospect, so that helps a ton.

Both there tackles are supposed to be highly rated. Must mean a lot of pressure from the interior (which makes it even MORE impressive).

Nussmeier is my guy right now.
we're never going to be bad enough to draft him
islander1 : 10/22/2024 12:17 pm : link
which is unfortunate.

They have two highly rated tackles with Campbell and Jones. It looks like they have gotten better this season because both looked shaky early.

Dellinger is a pretty good G, too.

Way to early to suggest that.

For one thing, there's plenty of season left for the Giants to suck and advance their draft position.

Also, just because Sy currently has Nussmeier as HIS #1 QB, doesn't mean other experts or other teams agree. Tankathon has Nussmeier as their #6 QB (43rd pick) and Colin at Great Blue North does not have him among the top 6 QBs being taken in RD #1, ranking Nussmeier as his #9 QB.

I saw that. And it's laughable.
Nussmeir didn't have much experience prior to this season, so the

That's your opinion and your certainly entitled to it. But I think you know that even the best talent evaluators (as well as many NFL teams) have a 50/50 hit rate on their QB predictions/selections.

At this point, no one really knows which QBs will be the top ones drafted, let alone which ones will find NFL success. Not to mention we have no idea what the Giants draft position will be for the 2025 draft.

Good grief! I meant "you're" not "your".

I didn't mention anything about hit rates.

I just think Nussmeier should be higher on anyone's list, especially better than #9.

He's having a better year than Milroe, Beck, Dart, Moss. And while that has some weight, the more important point is that Nussmeier has skills that project very well to NFL game.

I've been watching the QB classes with great interest for the past 6-7 years as the Giants' QB position descended into its present lowly state.

I'll preface what I'm about to say by clearly stating that I want the Giant y to draft 1 or 2 quarterbacks in this draft...

I'm not especially impressed with any of these QBs. I like Milroe and Ward and I'd be thrilled with either, but this feels like a weak class in the way the Pickett/Willis class did.

At this point I would remind everyone of the Giants' historical approach to drafting quarterbacks. When the Giants need a quarterback they don't take Day 2 fliers...they fall in full bloom love and draft a guy high.

I'm not sure I see that happening in this draft.

And then what? Can't bring back Jones. Can't be inspired by Darnold or Cousins. Options are limited

I know. I'm just talking about the reality of the situation, not what I'd do.

I still don't rule out Jones being back, especially with the OL excuse now back in place.

That’s nonsense. If you have a clue of college prospects and didn’t have Nussmeier on your short list, you are far from an expert. Much like many were late to the party on Jayden Daniels last year.

GBN is much like this type of outfit.

At this point, I would rather them reach and draft a QB high, then rerun it next year with Jones. We already know Jones isn’t the answer but at least a rookie provides some hope.

Rourke needs to be higher on everyone's list, too. He's going to be out with a thumb injury for a week or two, but he's been tremendous for Indiana. What a find he was for Cignetti.

Only watched him once so far. Interesting prospect.
