Lafreniere will play. UBI can be anything from a broken bone to a booger in his nose, so who knows.
Rangers are the better team, but that doesn't insure victory. Montreal is improving, but I don't think they are there yet. Should be a good game. Unfortunately for me, I won't be able to watch it.
One team is bottom of the barrell garbage and the other team is dummying teams out there. I get into arguments with my friend who likes both teams and tells me the Giants are more respected because they won 4 Super Bowls. Maybe if you think like a Cowboys fan.
After all that trash talking, pj must feel pretty dumb.
lol, yes I'll eat all that crow.
it was worse than I expected but not much. And there was still some positive for MTL.
By that I mean the Mailloux gaffe on a should have been icing call. The Hutson giveaway. those are plays that normally happen in the minors. Having them happen in an NHL game is a good way IMO to make sure they don't happen again. Those guys are 21 and 20 years old.
Love that MSL put them both right back on the ice after making bad plays that led directly to goals.
Oliver Kapanen playing center was a good site. The 21-year old is so skilled, I thought he had no shot at NHL C, but he was good on the dots and looked like he knew what to do defensively.
I thought Reilly Smith was the best Ranger (Chytil a close second) and after two games Anakim wanted him assassinated. Have Mika and Kreider had a better wing play on their line?
Did he play RW? It's always someone playing off-wing on the Rangers.
I know Panarin is a the rare righty shot who prefers to play LW (I mean I loved it when I was forward in the o-zone on the rush on off-hand side, but in the d-zone no bueno), but did Buch play RW as a lefty shot?
I wrote in the off-season that the Rangers got better on paper with the Smith trade although I wouldn't have done it, lol. The biggest risk remains one of the 30+ guys falling off a cliff.
They are still one of the top 5-6 Cup contenders in the league.
health of Igor. and health of the team in general.
Already, once again, the Rangers are defying the odds and are one of the healthiest teams in the league. the past few years they have been historically healthy. Though some may say the Rangers (Fox) injury issues directly influenced the outcome of the ECF facts are facts - they have been historically healthy.
But MTL is not at NYR level - they were down two top 6 F's, a top 4 D, and that of course is not counting Carey Price who is still on LTIR but is basically the same age as Bobrovsky and younger than Quick.
If the Rangers don't remain healthy it would be a big test - one they haven't had the past few years.
Way too many odd man rushes and guys wide open in front of the net. Their incredible goal production has obscured this but they're going to play teams that will make them pay for their frequent lapses.
Chytil came into this season as one of the x factors on this team, and he is absolutely showing why he's such an important piece of the team. I hope like hell he can stay healthy, I'd rather the Rangers not have to chase a top 9 F at the deadline. Kakko is playing great too, and I think part of it is how well he and Chytil have always played together. They are both also extremely injury prone, so hopefully that does not become a factor later in the season. Good problem to have on the blue line, they legitimately have 8 NHL quality defensemen. They need to clean up in the defensive zone a little, but it's early in the season, I'm not overly concerned about that. It would be nice if this season was going to finally be the year that the Rangers were the best team in the league all year and then continued their dominant play throughout the playoffs, but we all know it'll never be that easy!

Issue is where the injuries occur more than games.
Fox is the most important player on the team outside of Shesterkin imo. Him being dogshit against the Panthers is killer.
IMO its a little harsh to call him dogshit when he was trying to play through injury. After the injury during the Washington series, he was noticeably hampered.
lol, j/k but it will be epic whatever they do.
No Slafkovsky. No Xhekaj. Pezetta in.
No definitive word on Lafreniere, he skated today, but it is an UBI, so who knows.

For what? All their success over the past 30 years?

to have a 1 hour pre-game ceremony.

they still celebrate the 70's in Montreal.
You don't see that everyday....
Goalie change.
Switching over to the Knicks for a bit.
The defense sucks tonight, frankly. They’re lucky this game isn’t tied

True, but the Habs are also lucky the Rangers don’t have seven. Two posts and a crossbar now.
Very impressed with Mancini on defense
BTW , defense really needs to tighten up their position responsibilities
Off to a great start after 6 games

I'm a lefty and prefer playing RW, but Drury hasn't given me the call. My contract demands might have been too high.

The rangers are just an absolute wagon right now.
Keep stacking and don't get complacent.

I'm a huge fan of Cuylle. He does all the small things, and has about 5 hits every game.
In 6 games the 3rd line has not given up a goal 5on5 play.

I thought Cullye was terrific in the postseason.
Do you know how annoying I'm going to be when Kakko puts up 50 points this year?
(even more annoying than usual)

Particularly because they were so reliant on the PP last year and Fox is arguably the key player on the PP.
I think we win that series (and the Cup) if he was healthy. It really kills me.
Healthy Fox is so damn good. I think NYR fans almost underrate him.
