Daniel Jones 6.0 YDS/ATT

GiantTuff1 : 10/22/2024 11:17 pm
Slightly below world beaters Andy Dalton (6.2) and Davis Mills (6.1), but above Dolphins power trio Tim Boyle (5.9), Skylar Thompson (5.7), Tyler Huntley (5.7) and then the great Will Levis (5.6).

There’s a self-growth expression that you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with… Well, with Jones spending so much time at the bottom of the charts with these colleagues, it’s pretty easy to see who he is the average of… all backup caliber quarterbacks.

At least 6.0 is only second worst to last years 5.7. By comparison, last year Devito was 6.2, and Tyrod was 7.5.

For years his supporters have been telling us that yards/attempt is not an important stat. I even remember one guy saying that an offense may not be designed to get Y/A. Amazing.
This stat points to the fact that Jones’ play

Has declined from 2021. 6.0 YPA is an untenable level for today’s NFL.

For example, Mike Glennon’s career YPA was 6.1.

Jones actually has a career YPA of 6.5. He just may be done. He’s not even playing at his inadequate career level. Fork?

This. For people who cite 2022, Jones isn't even that QB anymore. That guy could make big plays with his legs and occasionally threw the ball past 10 yards.
Jones has never had a ypa over 6.8

Not even in college

He has never been good.
I'm coming around to

"Pageant Kid in Cleats" as his best description.
Jones in college and pro combined

Has 120 TD passes in 103 games played

He has simply never been good
Gee another Daniel Jones thread

Who would have thought!
I like the layout of this board

But I really wish there was a way to create a separate sub for complaining about Jones.

We all know he sucks, hell, I think even the coach that keeps rolling him out to start games knows. At this point in time its just getting redundant to talk about.

As much as we talk about Jones his obvious physical decline is not discussed enogh anymore. He no longer appears to have the speed to bust a big run and as a result they now run him almost exclusively between the tackles, which is truly bizarre for a QB.

And if you look at. his rookie season he's lost a lot off his deep ball.

So in addition to inability to move off his first read this guys is in serious physical decline.
I like the analogy between Mike Glennon’s career and

Daniel Jones. They may end with pretty similar career stats. Glennon shone his first year and was rewarded by the Bears with a big contract principally on that basis. Then he washed out an made some money as a backup. Different style but similar results.

And to think we had both of them! On the same team at the same time! What a legendary combo.

Better than Montana and Young?
Wouldn't it be great to never see another Jones thread on BBI

Cut him now, pay him off to leave, put Lock on waivers, sign Tannehill, and keep Cutlets as the back up.
